Is the Atom Nuclear?

Hi all,

This might be a little heavy on the reading side, but I think it's worth it. Also, no real physics knowledge is required, though some acquaintance with basic terms and ideas will make it easier.
Nothing a little Wiki surfing can't solve.

There was an engineer called Dewey Larson, who developed a "Theory of Everything", a very interesting theory, albeit hard to visualize. (I might start a thread about it on a later date).

There is a book by him called "The Case Against the Nuclear Atom" (http://library.rstheory.org/books/cana), it is freely available on the web.

The book is talks about how the "Nuclear Model of the Atom" was developed. He gives a summary of the available conclusions that could be drawn from experiments like the Rutherford Experiment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutherford_experiment), and which of them were eventually drawn. He then goes to explain why the conclusions reached were faulty, and presents other experiments and facts that oppose these conclusions.
In the face of facts contradicting a model, good science practice should void the model and carry on. Larson then explains how they didn't abandon the erroneous model, the scientists conjuring up increasingly ridiculous ways to keep the model afloat.

Anyways, the main argument of the book is presented in the first three chapters, namely Introduction (http://library.rstheory.org/books/cana/01.html), The Nucleus (http://library.rstheory.org/books/cana/02.html) and The Electrons (http://library.rstheory.org/books/cana/03.html), so you don't have to read it all to get the bulk of the idea.

Incidentally, I translated chapters 2 and 3 as a project in one of my Physics courses, and I got 95%. I was fully prepared to get a 0.

Hi omeriko :) not being a physicst or anything close to it i checked the links you provided with interest.
what i got out of all of this are not the specific theory and the conclusions of the experiments in atoms particles (so help me god),but the insistings of the sciense establishments to hold on to the specific dogma that is acceptable by all and to find ways to justify it even if data shows differently..
am i right at this assumption?
anyway,i hope that some other members here that understand more about physics will react to this potential discussion

Yes, that's basically it.

As I understand it, the main difference between science and religion is that while science tries to fit models to observable data, religions tries to do the opposite.

These days, scientist become so locked on to theories (some unproven) and models (some proven wrong) that they abandon the scientific way of thinking and become religious in their conduct. This book presents quite a few demonstrations of this when dealing with the Atom Model.

Here is something I just wrote up about my feelings that there is no nucleus but a void that is magnetic stillness and of course that is what is the big part of zero point energy...

THE GEOMETRY OF INNOCENCE

The trinity, the tripartitie form or imprint, is the neutral center, the magnetic stillness to which and from which, all manifests and dissipates. It is the heart center, which in vertical alignment activates the spinal column. The auric cloud is the east/west axis and is the envelope and medium of exchange of bilateral symmetry. The spiral energy or zigzag of the yin/yang is the 396693 of DNA that extends itself in two way light emanations between the four polar boundaries of Akashic Light. Messenger RNA is outbreath and its feedback loop is returned to that neutral center. The liquid crystalline stairwell that winds and unwinds through itself is the portal for angelic communication that manifests as intracellular balance. All is permeable as Divine Intelligence.
The structural forms of mineral, plant and anima(l) are the vessels of Light which to our senses are 3D extensions of the interacting fields of function between Cube and Sphere. Fractal patterns are the emanations of frequency that transcend and circulate the blueprints of expanded and contracted matter in its two way journey of Silent Sound and White Light. Binary systems are the portals and gates of membranous form, the on/off sequences that impose and dispose of nutrients and debris.
Fibonnaci numbers are the branching patterns that guide the seed as vibrational waves that fall on the matrices of platonic solids and crystalline forms. Yet, it is the phi spirals and arms of Pi that allow for evolution of consciousness. They are not rational numbers and thus are unpredictably able to defy the pressure states of chemical elements or gradations of what is partially defined as the electromagnetic spectrum. Keeley states that octaves are not just a doubling circuit like the approximations of a Rodin coli etc…that is a finite set of material laws that intimate over unity yet still are within a boundaries system. The irrational patterns of Phi, Pi etc however, are again portals, avenues of grace for Divine Inspiration and union on higher dimensional levels. It is merely a reflection of our sense of harmony, symmetry that limits us to boundaries of thought and expressions of creativity. In the realization of these self imposed boundaries of finite functions and permutations of limiting thought, we create mediums of expression for that which is unfathomable and beyond which our senses blur. Logical determinism is perception of matrix in defined rationality, and a prison for soul journeying. So, we wander through keytones, color scales and feelings, trying to intimate the Divine impulse that seeks harmony itself, but is exclusive yet!
Our divinity and humanity are the vertical and horizontal alignments of the Tree of Life, yet there is only change, constancy of motion, defined as particles and but an intimation of energy as waveform. That duality underlies all our perceptions of Universe or Metaverse. That which is infinite is the White Light and Silent Sound, beyond and within everything. Could we not open or close the Angelic Divine Gate, that portal of intergalactic visioning, then we would certainly and untimately be confined and limited by form. Yet, it is the Recording Angel that accompanies us through embodiments, stitching the tapestry of two-way Time in the echoing stillness of Space.

I didn't really like "THE GEOMETRY OF INNOCENCE", too much New Age jargon for me.
I did read it, though, but I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Great lecture, Chris.
I've heard of him, but have never seen any of his lectures.
I'll have to delve deeper into this one, too. His site mentions intern programs.

He also gave a good name for what I was alluding to above: "Physics as you go"
Captures it entirely.
