Lol yeah there's solar activity but the volcanic activity isn't just in our imaginations. There's been one going off every few days and now their worried about The Yellowstone Caldera. The Universe is also running rampant with expanding energies which is notable and I think could have an affect on DNA but that is only speculation based on a couple of observations. There are many events that are unfolding that we will experience(and already are) over the next few years besides solar activity. I'm not sure about the day 12/12/2012, but given the fact that so many ancient cultures from different eras and geological locations give significance to that day, maybe it's wise to expect something; on the other hand maybe they were mislead as well with the intent of misleading our modern society. In turn maybe the time line for what was suppose to happen changed. Also don't forget we are a binary system so its not impossible for something to occur on that day (there is plenty of evidence showing these past cycles occurring, is there not?). It's impossible to say anything for certain we'll just have to wait and see but either way you look at it there is certainly more going on then just solar activity.

If there ain't any cosmic event coming our way, and none (from a scientific perspective) is forthcoming, then we will have a great day as usual December 21, 2010.

One thing seems to be evident from the Mayan Calendar, if I'm correct, our Planet, our Sun, and the Center of our Galaxy will be centered as in the following image.

But one thing is for sure, our humanity have never been that aware of who they are, conscious of their power and their weakness, conscious of their spiritual world more and more. So, from 2011 to 2012, consciousness, awareness will grow continously and that maybe the changes expected...!

All that has been hidden from us is there for us to grasp NOW. So many people are expanding in consciousness, in intuitiveness and they don't even know it. Some have been that way all their lives and don't know it. They have no accurate means of measuring it because it is something that really can't be measured. How do you measure the limitless? It has been distorted though mostly by New Age Bibble Babble that sets a false standard to measure your intuition by. If people are ignoring their emerging intuition because they are deciding they aren't because they can't speak to ashtar command or see angelic nuns on floating near the ceiling then a serious discussion of what our consciousness expansion really means is in order. Its internal not 'out there' in the command center or floating in a habit in foyer.

Much of intuition can be foreknowledge but a lot of times we have no foreknowledge whatsoever, no external manifestations but simply end up with a series of happy accidents and being in the right place at the right time...if we are not loading down our intuitive abilities with a lot of false judgments and standards that never existed anyway. It's crippling.

Well, for starts, I believe that our individual consciousness effects our individual lives and our collective consciousness effects our collective lives. I'm not a big fan of "The Secret", but I do believe the premise presented therein that "things grow where attention goes". So, for me, what will happen in 2012 (or tomorrow, for that matter) is at least in part determined by what we collectively believe (at the core of our being) will happen. As such, I try to visualize the world as I would like it to be in 2012 and focus my attention and energy toward manifesting that. If some other outcome eventuates, oh well- I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I do grow as much of my own food as possible, am in the process of enlarging my water reserve system, have studied how to survive in a variety of circumstances, etc. In short, I'm hoping for the best, but also prepared for the worst. I don't know what will happen, and neither does anyone else. As I'm told Rajneesh said, "Life isn't a puzzle to be figured out. It's a mystery to be enjoyed." Or the John Lennon version- "Life is what happens while we go around making other plans." So far, my life has taken me on a journey more wonderful and growthful than I ever could have planned for myself. I trust that it will continue to do so.

From my research: Number 5 (Paradigm/Consciousness shift) + Number 12 (DNA upgrade). The channeled group-soul (social memory complex) Q'uo says that our Sun is beginning to emit 4th density light and ceasing to emit 3rd density light [1]. 4th density light contains more truth within it (less darkness/ignorance) and this concept aligns perfectly with David Icke's book "Truth Vibrations" [2]. Our consciousness is evolving and moving from the "Age of Choice" (3rd chakra) to "The Age of Love" (4th chakra) [1]. Stuart Wilde's visions and spiritual anomalies/experiences also indicate that the vibration of light is increasing and that spiritual abilities will become more common and more powerful [3].

All three sources indicate that you just can't sit on your bum and wait for the world to change, the change will be very difficult for those who stick to old negative habits, you need to be evolving yourself through self-discipline, stop manipulating others, and be willing to let go of things. You have a choice to go with the flow of these changes or you will feel like your swimming up-stream and that you are dying, which is what it feels like when your Ego is dying. There's a lot of work to be done on the Ego. None of these three sources say that anything special will happen on 21st Dec 2012, however, all three sources say we are already experiencing the gradual transition right now, so the process might take a few years.

If there was a sudden change in one 24-hour day - that change would cause people to go insane and I don't think the cycles or rhythms of nature works in sudden jolts like that (my personal opinion).

One of the events I keep hearing about in regards to 2012 was that reptilian beings would be revealed, hence the term Apocalypse 'the revealing'.

According to the Marciniak material, there are energies coming here that have to do with 'Lizzies' or reptilians. Supposedly, they will no longer be able to hold a human form anymore and that they were preparing us for their unmasking via television and bombarding children with reptilian themes through TV, toys and books.

Also, I keep encountering references from many sources stating that its the year human kind would be liberated from malevolent outside sources that has been enslaving us for centuries. I can't state what's going to happen beyond reasonable doubt. The idea of a genetic upgrade, and expending consciously is great. I don't personally see that happening by a specific date and time. I think of those things as being the results of personal expansion and environmental adaptation. I feel like I'm alive to experience physicality, and to learn of it's wisdom. I don't see much of a point to being alive if I just need to wait around for some grand event to do it for me; Seems a little boring too. I personally think the planet's proposed alignment with the Milky Way will have a big impact on our planet. The reason I think that is because the Mayans were advanced astronomers. You will know it is the right day by looking at a star chart. I have never believed that anything in particular would happen to the earth on that day. But I believe there might be some effect on people. Just thinking about 2012 has raised the awareness of many people. I am studying gravity currently. A unique subject arises with concern to gravity in 2012.
If you study geographic and geological time records, there is a continual flipping of magnetic polarity throughout time. Even in semi-modern times as far as humans are concerned. It is my firm belief that the magnetic polarity shifts at a fairly rapid rate, but once every cycle of the Mayan calender, we experience a gravitational renewal. Gravity does not leave an object. We can smack a magnet or heat it and it will lose its magnetism, but gravity must always remain. It is a piece of a resonant structure. So what does this mean? My theory is that the earth will line up with our sun in just the right way, where a renewal pulse will be added. This is like a child on a swing in almost zero air resistance. The child can be pushed and continue to swing for a long period of time, before the person who pushed them must come back and add energy to renew the pendulum motion. The earth is constantly pulsing with a resonant gravity but must have a push to keep it there. It may be self sufficient, or it may be a boost from another celestial body, but the damage could be massive. A gravitational anomaly would cause large scale waves that would flood large areas of land.
One might consider this as a flipping of our solar systems energy into another plane of a wave. Similar to a water droplet landing on a pond. We ripple downwards, then, at some point, we must reach the climax of our sine wave and begin to ripple upwards.

This I totally agree with, except for the reason -- I expect the main reason for a possibly dramatic but short-lived (no pun intended) spike in suicide rates would be the opposite: the realisation that there will be no swift end to their worries and woes; that they will have to go on toiling and suffering.
I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am already for all those people.

Another likely outcome of what I expect to be the non-event of 2012, of course, are possible aggressive collective and individual actions by people who would not accept that nothing on the scale of what so many seem to expect had happened. In other words, people who are likely to try and force something to happen, for whatever reason.

As a matter of fact, I've been thinking of putting together an article about the preparedness of polices forces around the world for possible adverse reactions to the non-event (again, it is my assumption and gut feeling, if you will, that it will be a non-event), but there's really not much to be gleaned from their representatives.
They are "aware" of the possible implications, and they are foreseeing the need for "increased vigilance", but that's all they're saying. And frankly, I believe them. There is not much that you can do about it so far in advance.

I do believe, like some other posters here, that there is a possibility of severe solar disruptions, but this is based simply on SpaceWeather predictions and such.

As for the rest, I have written more extensively about my opinion on this in another thread.
