Hello Avalonian friends. I have been a member here for over 10 years as , and still known as, thepainterdoug.

After much work, time, money and effort I now have a new web site.

Simply www.dougauld.com

I invite you all to visit the various galleries. Bill is in the 100 whistleblowers.

I will have a collectibles shop by the end of summer as well.

I would appreciate you signing up for my newsletter.

Any comments are welcome

Many Thanks!!

I have already subscribed to the NEWSLETTER.

Even the King did not escape your attention, very interesting portfolio, confronting at times too, you also went through several stages of styles, perhaps add an personal era of "the Style" (de Stijl) to your portfolio, pretty sure you'd rock that too.

Very impressive.

9ideon. thanks for taking a look and leaving your comment. As a painter, I have always been interested in aspects of realism, as in how we see ,name and categorize the world around us.
Abstraction has always been present to me within the realism I have created. Im also a person who needs to evaluate completion, and abstraction does not provide that for me.
I suppose my works can be confrontational and thats fine, and up to the viewers world view

thanks! d

I respect that, but...

Mondriaan for instance, he would create a realistic drawing and evolve it into an "abstract" painting over time, the painting being the end-result (completion in a way), pre-work would be drawings. He probably took this from his Kubism time into the Style.

You could paint in code, lol, but as mentioned, have to accept the artists view and opinion.

Suggested it because it is one of my favourite styles and I wouldn't be able sleep tonight if not have asked you.

My abstraction would be of this nature. "Striking the Ball" oil on canvas 40x50
, ( and detail section.)

A soccer player? or just fish
