🇷🇺🇯🇵🇺🇸 BREAKING: The 8.7 magnitude earthquake off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula is now confirmed as the strongest quake globally since 2011.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warns of tsunami waves exceeding 3 meters along Russia’s eastern coast and possibly impacting Japan and the northwestern Hawaiian Islands.

A tsunami watch remains in effect for Hawaii as a precaution. Officials are closely monitoring wave patterns across the Pacific.

BREAKING: And I mean WOW this is huge. The quake was prelim. an 8.0 but upgraded now to a massive 8.7 magnitude. This struck minutes ago off the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. This was a pretty shallow quake with depth of 19km (only 11 miles down). Tsunami Alerts are now active for all of Hawaii and the Alaskan Islands. A quake of this extreme intensity and shallowness can pose major tsunami risks. Tsunami alerts are expanding immediately around the Pacific Rim. Tsunami waves over 3 meters (10 feet) above normal tide levels are now possible along portions of the northwestern Hawaiian Islands and coastal areas of Russia.

🇷🇺⚠️ URGENT: Water Receding Rapidly in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Bay

A potentially catastrophic drawback is now visible in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, as water levels in the bay are receding at alarming speed—exposing sand and seafloor. This is one of the most dangerous tsunami warning signs, often signaling that a massive wave is about to follow.

Why this is terrifying:
When ocean water suddenly pulls back like this, it means an enormous volume of water is being displaced—and is likely to return with devastating force. In past tsunamis (such as the 2004 Indian Ocean disaster), similar patterns were observed minutes before giant, deadly waves struck.

📍 Locals and visitors should evacuate IMMEDIATELY to higher ground. The Kamchatka region is already under a tsunami alert after today’s 8.7 magnitude earthquake, and this development confirms imminent risk.

Russia’s Deadly Megathrust Fault Is Ready To Rupture: A Pacific-Wide Tsunami Is Coming! Far beneath the waters off Russia’s Far East, lies one of the most dangerous—and least understood—geological features on Earth: the Kuril–Kamchatka Trench. Stretching thousands of kilometers along the Pacific seafloor, this vast subduction zone marks the collision of two colossal tectonic plates and holds the potential to unleash a disaster of staggering proportions. In 1952, it triggered a magnitude 9.0 earthquake and a tsunami that claimed over 2,300 lives within minutes. Now, decades later, signs are mounting that history may be poised to repeat itself. In 2025 alone, this volatile region has already been shaken by 7 earthquakes exceeding magnitude 7, including a powerful Magnitude 7.4 event in July that prompted tsunami warnings across the Pacific. Scientists fear a much larger rupture could be imminent!

For such a large quake it's very fortunate that there wasn't a 30 to 60ft tsunami (or larger) that devastated and destroyed several coast lines of several different countries.

Hi Silentfeathers .. Yes I’ve been thinking the same, perhaps the guys upstairs have lessoned the impact in some way… 🤷‍♂️

It is a "ironic" that this earthquake happened in the same area where some months ago after Russia unveiled "Poseidon", a 'nuclear torpedo' which is hailed as the world's most powerful underwater weapon 'capable of triggering radioactive tsunamis and even earthquakes'.

I thought the project was actually "completed" fairly recently - thank you for the information.

I find it incredibly interesting, given the times we’re living in, that Earth has once again chosen to release the collective pressure in the least dangerous place for humanity. That’s definitely something to ponder since it won’t remain this way for much longer.

From Paul Stonehill,

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, July 31 – RIA Novosti. Three tsunami waves on Paramushir brought a lot of fish and unusual objects to the island's shore, as Sergey Lakomov, a resident of Severo-Kurilsk, told RIA Novosti about

his discoveries on the coast.
"The coast of our island, which was freed from water in the area of the Second Kuril Strait

"The coast of our island, which was freed from water in the area of the Second Kuril Strait, which separates the islands of Shumshu and Paramushir, presented me with a surprise. It was an insulator for wires that used to hang on wooden poles during the Soviet era.

The most interesting thing is that this rarity was probably carried out to sea during the terrible tsunami of 1952 in Severo-Kurilsk. And a similar natural disaster in 2025 brought it ashore. Time has erased the markings, so it is no longer possible to determine whether

the item is Japanese or Soviet-made," the man told the agency. He also said that there are a lot of fish, including flounder, lying on the beach.

Of course, it is not safe to eat, although the fish smells like it was just caught. However, closer to the fish factory and the seaport, there is a strong smell of fuel, which permeates the marine life. I

One of the most interesting cases of the time-space continuum disruption in modern Russia. It took place on the base of the Russian Navy, so I present here the only available information. Military secrecy, and the remoteness of the Kamchatka Peninsula are obstacles to the full disclosure of the facts...and yet, this is a most interesting case from the Russian Far East. In 1952 Kamchatka had a 9.0 earthquake which was second largest ever recorded which also caused a tsunami referenced above in Paul Stonehill’s comments.

From RT India,

Echoes Of 1952: As Countries Braces For #Tsunami Impact After Kamchatka Earthquake, A Look At The Last Devastating 9.0M Quake In The Region

Kamchatka, 🇷🇺 was once again rattled today by a 8.7M strong earthquake - but the region has a serious seismic past.

The most catastrophic event was in 1952, which clocked in a massive 9.0M - one of the largest ever recorded. It triggered a devastating tsunami that caused widespread destruction along the Kamchatka Peninsula and across the Pacific, with waves reaching up to 18 metres high and impacting shores as far as Hawaii and Alaska.

1kMEk-Xj_XIClickbait fake news nonsense.

John, you gotta actually watch the videos you post.

If you do watch the video (and I did, 5 minutes of my life I'll never get back!), you'll see that the video makes clear that any possible damage to the base is totally unknown. (And I'd add myself: damage is very unlikely, as the location is NOT on the 'Pacific shoreline', but well shielded inside a large bay with a relatively small sea entrance.

That last part is also as russian as it can get ¨How many victims there were we will find out either decades from now or never¨

🇷🇺 Krasheninnikov Volcano Erupts for the First Time on Record in Kamchatka

The Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka has erupted for the first time since observations began.

According to the regional Emergencies Ministry, the ash column rose up to 6 kilometers. An orange aviation hazard level has been issued for the area.

WOW! WOW! FIRST RECORDED eruption!

Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka, Russia has erupted! 🌋

Krasheninnikov volcano began its FIRST RECORDED eruption at 16:50 UTC on August 2, 2025. Initial explosions sent ash up to 3–4 km above sea level, later rising to 5–6 km. Ashfall has affected parts of Kronotsky Nature Park, and satellite data from KVERT shows the ash plume drifting 75 km east of the volcano.

The last lava effusion took place in 1463±40. No historic eruption is known. In 1963 traces of fumarolic activity were registered in the crater of the middle Northern cone.

WATCH: Incredible footage of the FIRST RECORDED ERUPTION of Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka, Russia.

It wouldn't be a surprise to me if it was triggered by the megathrust M8.8 earthquake a few days ago.

"This update covers several locations, and includes full analysis of the M8.0 earthquake in Kamchatka, along with an explanation of why I chose to not cover the earthquake after the USGS huge "upgrade" from M8.0 to M8.7 then up to M8.8.

Additionally, this update covers the United States West Coast, California, and areas across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Ultimately this video covers most locations on the planet in some way, and gives an glimpse into what we're looking for over the next several days into next week.

Don't be scared, be prepared!"

(Remember, an 8.8 is about 8x as powerful as a 8.0, as the scale is logarithmic.)

It makes sense the waves were big on the coast of Russia, but they didn't amount to much elsewhere.
