I thought this was pretty cool primarily because this is my university. :) Have other universities partnered up with SETI before?

USC Teaming up With SETI to Search for E.T.
LOS ANGELES -- The University of Southern California is teaming up with SETI in the search for signs of extraterrestrial life.

USC and the SETI Institute (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) announced Wednesday that they've agreed to conduct joint research and education programs.

The nonprofit institute, based in Mountain View, Calif., says USC has leading programs in astronomy and other sciences that will help in the hunt for signs of intelligent life in space and the study of how life evolves in exotic Earth environments.

SETI scientists will have access to USC's experts and advanced computer graphics programs while university faculty and students will gain access to SETI facilities, including a radio telescope.

You'd think all that needs to be done is take them on a tour around Dulce and maybe some of the other DUMBs.

ikr? Poor guys. What they're looking for is right in front of them. Still, their hearts are in the right place, so I can't hate too much!

Hi cosmiclagoon,

Please do not take this Personally,

BUT, after researching the UFO Phenomena for years I think that "SETI Institute (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence)" is the biggest waste of space I have encounted in all my years of research on the UFO subject!

They have been one of the most heavily funded NGO's by the PTB Foundations & Philantharapists (MoneyPit) with absolutely 'NO' Results whatsover!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

Listening for Extraterstrial Contact - Gimme-A-Break! Either that or the Donations are to Fund Research we the public will never hear about!

Haha, I don't take it personally! I tend to agree with you on this.

On the plus side, I welcome any news that takes the ET contact notion seriously, if only because it could be a starting point for someone's awakening process.

SETI is the perfect silence project. Unfortunately there’s still no word from ET after decades of searching, scientists have found no trace of extraterrestrial intelligence.:o As someone already said, by the time that "we" detect such signals from another world, the intelligence that sent the messages is probably long dead and gone.

SETI (the official search for extraterrestrial intelligence) still argues that they have not received any anomalous radio signals to suggest extraterrestrial life exists. Whether this is the truth or not, that is their official line. But perhaps extraterrestrials would find radio transmissions a very easy way to communicate even through secret frequencies.
Some scientists and engineers believe the communications are taking place secretly at very special short-wavelength, high-frequency signals that occupy the electromagnetic spectrum above 190 THz in the infrared range. It is the optical wireless range that requires special devices and is normally out of reach of the public though in some countries no licensing is required

This is fairly hard to detect, even for big radiotelescopes...It is known if these communications is created by extraterrestrials or by the countries involved in the research ?

Maybe maybe not thats the beauty of it (the not knowing)
