Russian view of how Americans fought Germans. If the article is deleted, I will not be offended, it is your right. I will also add that I respect American and British veterans who died in the war, fighting in alliance with the USSR against evil. But the article tells about their military actions and their successes at the front.

Probably everyone has heard that Hitler's Germany was defeated by the Allies. Mainly the USSR, the USA, Great Britain and France.
In the West, the USSR is put in last place, or not mentioned at all.
Okay. Let's look at the numbers and facts then.
So in the West, as has been said, they downplay the role of the Red Army in defeating Hitler. And in general they say that Germany capitulated because of the Allied landing in Normandy - in France in 1944.
But in fact, the heroism of the United States is a huge soap bubble.
✔️ Their hard-won victories
were accompanied
❌ by shameful defeats,
❌ by the flight of soldiers,
❌ and terrible bombing of civilians.
But they don't focus on this.
Therefore, today we will talk about how the Yankees really fought in World War II.
What awaited the Europeans in the West is clear from Stalin’s words: “It seems to me and my colleagues that 1942 presents the most favorable conditions for the creation of a second front in Europe, since almost all the forces of the German troops, and moreover the best forces, are diverted to the Eastern Front, and in Europe an insignificant number of forces, and moreover the worst forces, are left.”
https://avatars.dzeninfra.ru/get-zen_doc/271828/pub_6644e46303c93216b6c0287c_66588f18455d57019a585e6d/scale_1200
And Stalin was right.
The core of the German troops in the West were
▶️ old men with outdated weapons.
▶️ An entire division (the 70th Infantry) was staffed with soldiers with stomach diseases who required a special diet. It was even nicknamed the "white bread division".
▶️ There were battalions of hard of hearing, flat-footed, diabetics. They could serve in the rear, but their combat capability was zero.
▶️ Of course, there were healthy ones, but they were over forty.
▶️ The artillery was mainly made up of 50-year-olds.
But, as is well known, in 1942 the front in Europe was never opened. Churchill justified himself by saying that summer was ending. And the pampered Europeans are not ready to fight in winter and preferred to act in secondary theaters of war. So in 1942 they landed in North Africa, and in 1943 in Sicily and Southern Italy and diverted only small forces of the Wehrmacht - no more than 6-7%.
6-7% of the worst forces - that's who our allies fought with, who indicate themselves on commemorative medals as winners.
For comparison, in the largest battle of El Alamein in North Africa, 80 thousand German soldiers participated, which is 12.5 times less than at Stalingrad.
It would be natural to ask: when and where did the USA defeat the German army?
And how could they defeat it, if
☑️ Up to 75% of all German divisions were fighting against the USSR?
☑️ The length of the Eastern Front ranged from 3 to 6.2 thousand km.
☑️ The war here lasted 1418 days, 1320 of which were with active combat.
❌ For comparison, the length of the Western Front is 800 km.
❌ And it lasted only 338 days.
☑️ The Red Army defeated 607 divisions of Germany and its allies - almost 3.5 times more than on all other fronts.
☑️ It was on the Eastern Front that the Germans lost 8 million 876 thousand people - this is almost 70% of the total number of losses.
☑️ The bulk of military equipment was destroyed here.
❌ If we take into account that the Germans sought to surrender to the Americans, not the Russians, because they feared retribution for the evil committed in the USSR, then it becomes obvious who fought with whom.
There is still no exact data on Germany's losses on the second front. But, according to calculations made by Alexander Ilyashenko, a scientist and priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, Germany lost 540 thousand people.
https://avatars.dzeninfra.ru/get-zen_doc/271828/pub_6644e46303c93216b6c0287c_6658919477382e49f54cb6fb/scale_1200

Moreover, Ilyashenko conducted a study and found out the ratio of losses on the Western Front. For calculations, he took into account not only the number of killed, but also the wounded. Total 1 million 300 thousand for the USA and Britain. It is precisely this data that allows us to assess the combat capability of the army. After all, the wounded, just like the dead, cannot fight.
As a result, it turned out that for every 10 killed fascists, there were 24 “broken” Anglo-Americans. That is, to deal with one German, it took the strength of 2.5 Englishmen and Americans.
We can see a similar ratio in the notes of the German general Friedrich Mellenthin, who wrote about the operation in the Ardennes: "During the operation, the Allied army lost 77 thousand soldiers, and the German army - "25,000, a quarter of whom were killed." That is, we get even more pitiful figures - 31 to 10.
And how is that possible?
❌ They came at the most convenient moment, when Hitler's army was bled dry by the Soviet troops, and still the results, to put it mildly, are not very good.
But the world glorifies the armies of the USA and England, despite the fact that they never learned to fight even by 1944. And France, which generally capitulated, is also on the list of winners.
By the way, of the 26.6 million dead citizens of the USSR, only 11.4 million were military. The rest of the dead were civilians, whom Hitler's Germany exterminated.
⚠️ Yes. More than twice as many as Jews!
The ratio on the Soviet-German front was 13:10. That is, there were 13 Soviet soldiers for every 10 German soldiers.
❌ But we should not forget that the whole of civilized Europe was working for Germany at that time,
☑️ while the Soviet Union fought virtually alone for three years.
So the USSR did not overwhelm Hitler with corpses, as some like to say, but defeated him with heroism.

"WE CAN STILL LOSE THE WAR"
The second front was opened on June 6, 1944, after two years of delays. On this day, the US, UK and Canadian troops under the command of General Eisenhower landed in French Normandy.
They did this because it became clear that if they did not open a second front, the Red Army would enter Europe up to the Netherlands within a year.
Thus, one can even say that the second front was opened not against Germany, but against the USSR.
⛔️ Before landing, the Allies managed to sink 27 of 32 floating Sherman tanks.
⛔️ Some of the barges unloaded soldiers at a depth of more than two meters, as a result, the soldiers died not from bullets, but stupidly choking in the water.
⛔️ The landing site of the American troops - a section of the beach near the city of Longueville - became a real hell for the brave Yankees.
⛔️ Despite the fact that more than half of the German infantry were teenagers and veterans, they held back the onslaught of the Americans until the evening, inflicting serious damage on them.
⛔️ Almost 3,000 Americans died.
⛔️ In total, during the landing, the Europeans lost about 10 thousand people (6,603 Americans, 2,700 British, 946 Canadians).
⛔️ German losses are estimated at 2 times less, at 4-9 thousand.
⛔️ The captured bridgehead turned out to be half the size of what was planned.
⛔️ The Normandy operation, which lasted for the entire summer, cost the Allies 226 thousand wounded and killed.
⛔️ At the same time, the European forces by the end of August reached 2.8 million people against about 1 million Germans.
I want to add about the German defense in the West.
That same famous Atlantic Wall - a system of fortifications along the coast from Norway to Spain - is the same wall, the myths about which were invented in the West in order to somehow justify the sabotage of the opening of the second front.
https://avatars.dzeninfra.ru/get-zen_doc/271828/pub_6644e46303c93216b6c0287c_665895b04d274a6db86c307e/scale_1200
Atlantic Wall 1942, Norway. Source: https://flectone.ru/atlantic-wall.html
Churchill claimed that Hitler's Atlantic Wall was impregnable. In a letter to Stalin back in June 1941, he wrote: "The entire coast of France bristled with guns, barbed wire, fortified firing points and coastal mines."
⛔️ But the truth is that the bulk of the defense remained on paper - only 20% was built.
⛔️ Soldiers landed on an empty beach, where, apart from a few anti-tank hedgehogs, there were no defensive structures.
⛔️ And the arsenal of the Atlantic Wall consisted mainly of captured guns - the Germans dragged all the rusty junk that they got from the defeated armies there.
⛔️ There were Czech, Polish, French and even Soviet guns, with a limited supply of shells.
⛔️ It's scary to think what would have happened to the Americans if they had been fighting not cripples, but the best Nazi forces who had fought against our ancestors.
But in the summer of 1944, Hitler had no time for France - in the east, the Wehrmacht was burning with a blue flame. There was no talk of any strengthening of resistance against the British and Americans.
So the Americans would have marched calmly through France, fully confident that they would reach victory.
But in December, in the Ardennes region, they were met by full-fledged Wehrmacht divisions.
The Ardennes operation is considered one of the most difficult episodes in the history of the Western Front.
https://avatars.dzeninfra.ru/get-zen_doc/271828/pub_6644e46303c93216b6c0287c_665897e54576313e3288800c/scale_1200
In a month and a half of fighting, American troops lost 108 thousand people. US intelligence knew about the impending offensive, but the Germans easily broke through the defense.
And this despite the fact that 90 thousand Americans were attacked by a more modest corps of 67 thousand Germans.
You can hear as much as you like about the "heroic resistance" of the Yankees, but here is how the American journalist Ralph Ingersoll described what was happening: “It seemed impossible to stop them, they (the Germans) broke through our defense line on a front of fifty miles and poured into this gap like water into a blown dam. And from them, along all the roads leading to the west, our soldiers ran headlong ...”.

*However, as history shows, Americans are generally fond of running.
So, in 1975, they were so eager to leave Vietnam as quickly as possible that they threw helicopters off ships to free up space on the deck. Serviceable machines, with still warm engines, fell into the water and sank.
The shameful "feat" was repeated in Afghanistan quite recently. They abandoned everything: equipment, weapons, strategically important posts, and then their supporters who were trying to get into military aircraft. *
__________________________________________________
In December 1944, the American dream of ending the war by Christmas was shattered.
Almost 30 thousand Yankees were captured.
And on January 1, 1945, the Germans began an offensive in Alsace.
Now the "new historians" say that this did not worry the allies. But the allies themselves did not know then that they were not worried.
Judge for yourself: firstly, in the morning of the same day, the German air force, considered dead, suddenly attacked airfields in France, Belgium and the Netherlands with 1,000 planes.
Secondly, the Germans had already advanced 100 km and began a new offensive. The Americans were rushing between Alsace and the Ardennes.
So the American General George Patton, having caught the airborne division in a shameful flight, wrote in his diary: “We still have a chance to lose this war…”.
This is important: the Americans, having entered the war against the worst soldiers of Germany, when the USSR had already broken Hitler’s back, admitted that they could lose the war!
Do you know who saved them?
On January 6, Churchill asked the USSR to organize an offensive “on the Vistula front or somewhere” to ease the situation for the Americans.
The very next day, Stalin responded: “You can be sure that the USSR will do everything possible to help the glorious allied forces.” On January 12, the Red Army began the Vistula-Oder operation, which prevented Hitler from achieving success in the Ardennes and predetermined the rapid end of the war.

Here is a true example of speed and nobility, with which it is not scary to do things.
Ordinary Soviet soldiers pulled the "advanced armies" out of a state of virtual defeat.
This is a fact that enlightened Europe will never forgive us for.
PEOPLE WHO COMMITTED VILE DEEDS
Although there is something in which the Allies succeeded. This is the murder of civilians.
During World War II, 4 million ordinary citizens of Germany were destroyed, 3 of which were killed by Anglo-American bombings.
And this despite the fact that in September 1939, London, Paris and Berlin announced that strictly military targets would be subject to bombing.
British Prime Minister Chamberlain said: "Whatever others may do, our government will never vilely attack women and civilians in order to terrorize them."
However, the English integrity lasted only for the period of the “phony war”.
As soon as it became clear that the hopes of setting Hitler on the USSR had collapsed and he was attacking the West, bombs fell on peaceful German cities.
The largest victim of the British air force was Hamburg in July 1943.
⛔️ About 800 bombers dropped a huge number of incendiary bombs.
It was then that a new phenomenon entered the history of mankind - a firestorm. Hot air flowed through the streets and literally incinerated people.
⛔️ Phosphorus particles were also used against the residents of Hamburg.
If they stuck to the body, it was impossible to extinguish them: as soon as air came into contact with phosphorus, it flared up again. People burned alive or suffocated from toxic gases in the basements of their own homes.
⛔️ In Hamburg, more than 55 thousand residents died from air raids.
For comparison, in England, 62 thousand civilians died during the entire war.
⛔️ 61 German cities with a total population of 25 million people were seriously damaged.
⛔️ About 8 million were left homeless.
⛔️ 3 million, as was said, died.
Among them were children, old people, women and very few men. After all, most of them were at the front.
⛔️ The worst firestorm hit Dresden. The Americans and the British used 1,300 bombers and Dresden simply disappeared.
Note the date of the raid: February 13-15, 1945.
Why, two months before the end of the war, organize such a massacre in a city where there were no military targets, when everything was already clear?
The whole point is that the Europeans deliberately destroyed the Germans and German cities with civilians. They wanted to inflict maximum damage.
And this is in sharp contrast to the position of Stalin, who said: “Hitlers come and go, but the German people remain.”
Plus, at that time, Operation Unthinkable was already being developed - the forced expulsion of Soviet troops from Poland.
And the bombing of Dresden was supposed to demonstrate to the USSR the full power of the Western military machine.
This was directly stated in the memorandum of the British Air Force: “The bombing of Dresden should show the Russians, when they arrive in the city, what the Royal Air Force is capable of.”
The lives of ordinary people did not matter to anyone in London and Washington. Just as they do not care now.
By the way, the Europeans bombed not only Germany, but also hundreds of cities in France, Italy and other countries.
⛔️ From 1940 to 1945, Allied bombers dropped 2.028 million tons of bombs on Europe.
Of these, 50% fell on Germany, including Austria and the Sudetenland.
If Germany had won World War II, the leaders of England and the United States would have been guaranteed a death sentence for the millions of victims. But history is written by the victors.
However, the criminals were not punished for the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki either.
In general, we imagine the struggle between Japan and the United States from Hollywood films: defenseless Americans and armadas of Japanese planes. Meanwhile, apart from the strike on Pearl Harbor, US territory was never bombed during the entire war.
⛔️ But Japan was ironed no worse than Germany. It was bombed so heavily that the destruction from two atomic bombings accounted for only 6% of the total destruction.
⛔️ As a result of the air raids, Japan lost 67 cities.
⛔️ About 900 thousand civilians died.
⛔️ 5 million were left homeless.
⛔️ Thus, in Tokyo alone in March 1945, more than 100 thousand people died. Japanese historians consider this raid the most destructive in history.
When the Americans tested the atomic bomb, they decided to calm Japan in a new way. So on August 6, a four-ton "Little Boy" fell on Hiroshima, and on August 9, "Fat Man" fell on Nagasaki. The total number of victims was from 150 to 250 thousand people.
https://avatars.dzeninfra.ru/get-zen_doc/271828/pub_6644e46303c93216b6c0287c_66589bd45fc26601bc3ad671/scale_1200
Atomic mushroom cloud over Hiroshima. August 6, 1945
What is very important to know here?
At the same time, the fact that the Japanese were not going to surrender even then is hushed up.
The victims did not bother them just as the atomic bombs did not frighten them. Air raids were no longer given much importance. Japan understood that the war was lost, but concentrated its efforts on concluding peace on favorable terms. And it continued to prepare the population to resist in the event of an invasion: women, children and the elderly were taught fighting techniques using bamboo spears, and partisan bases were created in the mountains.
But suddenly Japan changed its plans and capitulated.
What alarmed the Japanese if they were not worried about the bombing?
The answer is simple - the USSR. If the Soviet Union had not entered the war on August 9, it could have continued for a long time.
In 12 days, Soviet troops defeated the million-strong Kwantung Army, liberated South Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
For Japan, this was the biggest defeat of the war: 83 thousand Japanese died.
The irretrievable losses of the Soviet Army amounted to 12 thousand people.
Already on August 17, Emperor Hirohito declared: “Now that the Soviet Union has entered the war against us, to continue resistance… means to jeopardize the very basis of our Empire’s existence.”
The traditional version that Japan capitulated because of Hiroshima is convenient for both the USA and Japan itself. Thanks to the myth of the terrible atomic bombing, the USA demonstrated its military power. Their influence increased throughout the world. Cruel Japan turned from an aggressor into a victim.
But the fact remains: the USSR did in 12 days what the USA had not achieved in 4 years.
But in truth, the Soviet Union remained on the sidelines.
The Americans, who were not used to fighting, had a hard time everywhere. During the war, they lost 407,000 soldiers, half of which were in the fight against Japan.
I do not deny the US contribution to the victory, but it is not comparable to the role played by the Soviet Union.
It was the USSR that bore the brunt of the war and fulfilled its allied and internationalist duty to the end.
As for the United States, its brutal military practices later led to
❌ the dropping of hundreds of tons of napalm on Vietnam,
❌ the shooting of civilians in Iraq
❌ and Afghanistan.
❌ They invaded and bombed Panama,
❌ Cuba,
❌ Haiti,
❌ Yugoslavia,
❌ Syria,
❌ Yemen,
❌ Libya.
❌ They declared war on terrorism, which they themselves had nurtured and sponsored.
Americans are so convinced of their holiness and exceptionalism that they have long since crossed out all norms of morality and law.
But comrades, the American empire is coming to an end. By the way, I might publish an article about this.
On August 9, 1945, the USSR entered the war with Japan https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?129686-How-the-Soviets-Blitzed-Japan-in-WW2&p=1667793&viewfull=1#post1667793
