When a group of Somali immigrants commit fraud on an epic scale, it lays bare questions that people are uncomfortable discussing. What happens when the fraud is exposed, and people begin to understand that this same group has made minimal effort to assimilate, and they have clearly retained their Somalia-first attitude?

I think everyone can agree that those convicted should be deported, but beyond that, what is the best course of action for the larger immigrant group? Trump announced via Truth Social that he was terminating Protected Status (https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/fact-sheet/temporary-protected-status-tps-overview/) for Somalis in Minnesota "effective immediately. Was this the right thing to do? Was Trump right to restrict immigration from 17 additional countries after this fraud was exposed? Some of the mainstream media have said that Trump is targeting Somalis (https://time.com/7337670/somalia-minnesota-fraud-walz-trump-tps-explainer/). Is it acceptable for Ilhan Omar, who is a Somali immigrant and a Representative of the House from MN, to preach open borders and DEI orthodoxy in the U.S., but back home in Somalia, she preaches ethnic purity? These are all issues that really need discussion.

Below is an excerpt from the Daily Caller article (https://dailycaller.com/2025/12/09/somalia-scam-scandal-billions-trump-ilhan-omar-minnesota-tim-walz-fraud-welfare-laundering/) that brings up many questions about immigration that need to be addressed, not just by the government but the public as well. When you read this article, you will see it answers one very uncomfortable question, but there are many more that need discussion.

Somali Scam Answers America’s Most Uncomfortable Question

It used to be an understood reality that if you entered the U.S. legally with the expectation that you would become a citizen and reap the benefits that come along with being an American, your allegiances must shift from your home country to the U.S. Additionally, you must work to further the U.S. socially, economically, and otherwise. Is empathy towards these immigrants helping or hurting. What should be done with a group has committed such fraud.

The Somali fraud case isn’t just an ironic situation. It’s the result of third-world immigrants shamelessly displaying loyalty to their corrupt and failed home states while guilting Americans into endless generosity.

“Different cultures lead to different outcomes,” Chris Ruffo wrote in the City Journal. “In the absence of strong assimilation pressures, the fraud networks aren’t so surprising; they reflect the extension of Somali institutional norms into a new environment with weak enforcement and poorly designed incentives.”

The left has such a hard time understanding this because their suicidal empathy requires that they embrace the fraudsters and denounce their fellow citizens. So when our president rightly states that it’s time they go back to where they came from, they fall in line, dancing alongside the men and women who harmed them. They can’t see that condemning fraud in this case isn’t anti-Somali; it’s pro-American.

Our government not only has the right but also the responsibility to recognize when immigrants fail to assimilate, and to protect and enforce justice against all groups that actively harm Americans.

Is it acceptable to be America First? The scandal unwittingly answers this with a resounding “yes.”

Gad Saad is always amusing. And here he addresses Trump's "Somalia is garbage" statement in his usual satirical style.. using facts and evidence to confirm what Trump said.

Using the international corruption index, we see that Somalia has ranked dead last 11 times since their entry into it in 2005. It's no coincidence that they're scamming Americans out of billions of dollars. There is nothing about Somalia or Somalis that will add value to the US. In fact it's the exact opposite; at least 75% are on some form of welfare.

Somalia is a colossal sh!thole of a place. That may sound harsh, but it is objectively true. With very rare exceptions, we should not be bringing any Somalis to the U.S.

Corruption index rankings:

- In 2005 they ranked 154 our of 159
- in 2006 they ranked 142 out of 163
- in 2007 they ranked 147 our of 179
- in 2008 they ranked 170 out of 180
- in 2009 they ranked 174 out of 180
- in 2010 they ranked 178 out of 178 - dead last
- in 2011 they ranked 182 out of 182 - dead last
- in 2012 they ranked 174 out of 176
- in 2013 they ranked 177 out of 177 - dead last
- in 2014 they ranked 175 out of 175 - dead last
- in 2015 they ranked 168 out of 168 - dead last
- in 2016 they ranked 170 out of 176
- in 2017 they ranked 170 out of 180
- in 2018 they ranked 180 out of 180 - dead last
- in 2019 they ranked 180 our of 180 - dead last
- in 2020 they ranked 180 out of 180 - dead last
- in 2021 they ranked 180 out of 180 - dead last
- in 2022 they ranked 180 out of 180 - dead last
- in 2023 they ranked 180 out of 180 - dead last
- in 2024 they ranked 179 out of 180 - so close!:)

According to this index they are the singularly worst country in the world.

Personal liberties are severely limited there, GDP is astoundingly low, women are often subjected to genital mutilation, it's ruled by tribal warlords, no freedom of religion, and on and on it goes. Their values are totally incongruent with western values. They have no business being here.

That's OK, the UK will welcome them with open arms and put them up in 4 star luxury.

And where do we draw the line, then?

Can #132 out of 180 be admitted?

Or should we go with only the top 50?

Not a joke...

If it were up to me, I'd limit most if not all immigration from 3rd world countries (particularly Muslim countries), and I'd prioritize mostly people that come from functional or at least semi-functional representative democracies.

Without looking at the list of the least corrupt nations on the planet right now, I can confidently say those countries I've described (or some version of them) would be among the top 50.

Anyone who got in from maybe 50 or so and beyond would have to take a rigorous civics course, which would involve learning English and American history (and passing challenging tests along the way) and swearing allegiance to the USA, and would be put on some form of probation initially (which would guarantee deportation for specific law violations) and would be disqualified from receiving any form of welfare for maybe their first 10 years here...among other things.

I'll ask the question right up front. If Islam is inherently incompatible with Western values and if Muslim immigrants are reluctant to accept the norms of their new country, should they be allowed to immigrate in the first place?

A big concern when it comes to many Muslim immigrants is their apparent reluctance to fully integrate into the society of the host country. Islam demands that Muslims keep their cultural and religious identity closely aligned to the Koran, which can lead to resistance to assimilation. This way of thinking promotes an us vs them mentality. Islamic teachings permit men to marry outside their faith, while women are expected to marry Muslim men. This practice can contribute to long-term social isolation for female Muslim immigrants. It does not go unnoticed that the demand for religious accommodations seems to be a deliberate form of cultural resistance to assimilation. For example, Muslims often request that schools and institutions provide halal food, allow prayer breaks, and adjust policies for religious observances such as fasting during Ramadan. While these demands are made, there is often little or no effort by Muslims to accommodate the norms of the host country. When immigrants are burning flags of their new country in protest (for any reason whatsoever) should they be allowed to remain? One of the most contentious issues is that Muslim communities have been working toward the implementation of Sharia law in their new countries, with some success in places like Canada and the UK. If new immigrants are unable or unwilling to accept the laws of their host country, it raises the question of whether they should be granted entry in the first place.

If Islam is inherently incompatible with Western values................................

It is clear at this point that whistleblowers were silenced and government officials were involved in the largest theft of taxpayer dollars through welfare fraud in U.S. history.

Feeding Our Future fraudsters bought mansions and Mercedes with $250M in stolen meal funds

Court exhibits show luxury cars, designer goods were purchased with funds meant to feed hungry children during the pandemic

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – No case in Minnesota's sprawling fraud scandal captures the scale of taxpayer abuse like the Feeding Our Future scheme, in which the program's director signed off on sham meal services for the poor only to have the men around her splurge on mansions, luxury cars and lavish lifestyles.

Fox News Digital has obtained the court exhibits used at trial, including photos of the properties, vehicles and designer goods prosecutors say were purchased with stolen federal nutrition dollars.

The scheme was headed by Aimee Bock, the founder and executive director of Feeding Our Future, an organization responsible for ensuring that needy kids didn’t go hungry during the COVID pandemic.

Bock presided over a network that claimed to have served 91 million meals, for which the scammers fraudulently received nearly $250 million in federal funds. Bock, who was convicted by a federal jury on March 19, 2025, of wire fraud, conspiracy and bribery for her role, was dubbed the scheme’s "mastermind" by federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors say Aimee Bock, founder of Feeding Our Future, and Salim Said helped orchestrate one of the largest pandemic-relief fraud schemes in U.S. history. Both were found guilty of diverting federal child-nutrition funds into luxury homes, vehicles and other personal spending, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. (Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office)

Bock approved the meal sites, some of which were fake, and then certified the claims, signing off on the reimbursements from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). At least 78 people have now been indicted in the ongoing investigation.

Court exhibits used in the case against Bock and Salim Said, a local restaurant owner, captured some of the opulent spending Said splurged his ill-gotten gains on.

For instance, Said used $250,000 in stolen nutrition funds to buy a large home in Plymouth, while another $2.7 million wire transfer linked to the fraud was routed into a Minneapolis mansion-style office building, prosecutors said, that served as the headquarters for his company, Safari Group.

The property stood in stark contrast to the daycare centers and after-school programs the federal money was supposed to help.

The exhibits also showed that Said used fraud proceeds to buy a black 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA and a 2021 Chevy Silverado.

The latter exhibit also shows designer bags, jewelry and a white Mercedes-Benz — items prosecutors labeled as "Handy Helpers Spending" to illustrate the lavish lifestyle surrounding Bock’s network. Prosecutors made no claim that Bock bought the items herself and one co-conspirator even testified that Bock warned them not to splurge, telling them that luxury purchases would "become obvious."

Watson earned more than $1 million for work he did as an employee of Bock’s for-profit childcare consulting business, as well as work his own remodeling company performed for that business, according to the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Prosecutors say Watson spent more than $680,000 on travel, jewelry, vehicles, cash withdrawals, or transfers to other accounts.

Watson has not been charged in the Feeding Our Future cases. He was charged with six tax-related felony offenses in September for allegedly underreporting his income for 2020 and 2021, failing to file a return for 2022 and failing to pay the income taxes he owed for those years. Watson allegedly owes more than $64,000 in unpaid income tax. He is currently being held in the Anoka County jail on a felony probation violation unrelated to the tax case.

On second thought...

I'd apply these standards to anyone immigrating to the US, regardless of where their home country falls on the corruption index.

And I probably wouldn't allow any new immigrants to vote in any local or national elections for 5 years or so.

You have to earn your stripes, in any endeavor and in all walks of life. You have to prove yourself. A newly arriving immigrant shouldn't enjoy all the same privileges a native born American has, who has been paying taxes their entire life, and spending money in the economy, and contributing to culture, and whose relatives fought and bled (and sometimes died) to establish the country's independence, fought in the civil war, and later in world war 1 and 2, saving millions of lives in the process (and changing the course of history).

Sorry but we shouldn't just be handing out that privilege. But that's exactly what we've done, and too many ungrateful and entitled ingrates are ****ting all over it.

Trump is changing that ethos, and I'm ecstatic about that.

That's OK, the UK will welcome them with open arms and put them up in 4 star luxury.

We're paying for that too, with our tax dollars being laundered through Ukraine and funneled into the UK and other EU countries.

The US taxpayers have likely financed all this mass immigration into all these western nations.

bolded above...

What a twist in the tale it will be if those who are at the moment caught up with following Islam, whether they want to or not - turn against the religion - and become key allies against the Globalist Tyrants -

What's happening in Iran could move in this direction - and you do have to wonder how the One World Government pushers will tackle this.... because they will lose their proxy army if Muslims break away from the tight control of their religion...and the cultural chaos 'they' (Deep State) are deliberately manufacturing in the West will be weakened...

It's a huge subject and don't want to go off topic too much but the quotes above sparked off my thinking in this area -

The video below is from Mahyar Tousi - he is of Iranian descent and came to Britain with his mother when they fled Iran and the Islamic Regime - he is now a patriotic Brit and naturally, is very interested in present developments in Iran....

I won't go on because this thread is primarily about the Somali Scandal in America... but it could all become related if there is a serious rebellion against Islam, world wide..... let's not forget how certain Western Powers covertly supported ISIS and the creation of an Islamic State - probably as a major pillar of their New World Order - and a way to control large populations in the Middle East....
