'Survival Curriculum' — a new resource

Friends, this is about a new YouTube channel called Survival Curriculum. It's been going for 4 weeks and there are 16 videos so far. The creator, who offers a friendly, low-key intro here (https://youtu.be/5eBIPA8Oebc), appears to have a very slight German accent, while speaking perfect English.

I usually quickly skip 'pepper' videos of every kind, but these feel very different. I've already learned (or been made to think about) a fair bunch of new things. (Like: "Wow, yes, I never thought of that".) And based on what I feel I already do know, everything is spot-on accurate and very well thought-out and explained.

The creator is clearly either ex-military/ex-intel, or has high-level contacts. The material is worrying (of course!), but is fact- and science-based, not sensationalized at all, and is packed with good information.

All the content is about What If, with the emphasis on IF. Most of the contingencies described are unlikely, and that's fully acknowledged. But just having some of this stowed away in the back of your mind may be valuable. And besides being practically focused, the videos of his that I've watched so far are all entertaining and very well done.

I had to quit watching the video about a hostile alien invasion. Basically, if it happens there's NOTHING you can do, realistically. Unless you're prepared to live in your basement, with windows blacked out with mylar. You can never go outside again. Never. And you have to have some way of dealing with your own waste and water needs, as all systems have been targeted by aliens.

I DID manage to sleep last night, but then again, I didn't watch the whole video.

That being said, all of the advice was spot on. And that was actually the scariest part!

In a hostile alien invasion the expert says the worst thing you can do is go outside. That would be the first thing I'd do. I'd have no desire to live longer in a hopeless situation, where life is pretty much impossible.

It appears that Ben Davidson of SpaceWeatherNews is going to be focusing a lot more on survival and prepping in 2026. Lots of good info along those lines in his latest Livestream update on Youtube.
(Also a new venue in which he will be all business in his upcoming Livestream Youtube videos. Sigh of relief!! :clapping: While those who actually enjoy his salty rants can still catch them on his personal X site. )

(Ben provides some interesting background into how he has come to his conclusions about where we are now in the timeline, with particular focus on the evolution of theory about novas and micronovas.
