This hit me one night, a few months ago when I came across this quote from George Carlin " By and large, language is a tool for concealing the truth."
source: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/george_carlin.html#ixzz17QVE7FC7

I was just going through brainey quote web site and this quote hit me right between the eyes. Knowing truth to be a statement proven to be or accepted as true.
Often Truth That which is considered to be the supreme reality and to have the ultimate meaning and value of existence. But Also it is how we use the meaning to determine what we or they realy want us to believe. If you think back to grade school and the curriculum we (anyone from say 30 yrs and up) had as students compared to the
curriculum that the gernations after us, and look at the school system now, our kids
spend more time having PA Days then they actually spend in class.

Here’s a thought, why where we sent to school, to be taught what is true! So here we are now, we’ve been carrying on the instructions taught too us on a regular basis, accepting the fact that what we where taught is true! Now remember who has control of what is publish in the texts books!

A line for the movie V for Vendetta has stuck with me...

It goes something like this; A writer uses lies to tell the truth while politicians use the truth to tell lies.

You should look nowhere for the Truth but within. Ask yourself and you will receive the answer.

Weird I was watching that movie last night and that line spoke to me as well.

I always believed whatever we learn from gradeschool or life in general is always going to be biased or having some form of opinion on it, also manipulated and distorted, nothing new really but actually knowing pure truth, well... that's hard to find. I know truth but that is how I think and feel inside me, the rest is the mask I wear in society.

An excellent book, which doesn't directly pertain to this topic but, which entirely pertains to the spirit of this thread.

Lies My Teacher Told Me

and therein lies the truth ;)

I was born/raised in sunny South Africa. I wonder what the history books will say in 200, or even 100 years time.....

When people speak of truth, more often that not, they mean their own truth.
So when people ask me is that the truth, I will ask them to define it, do you mean yours, mine or THE truth?
If you want THE truth, I may not be able to tell you as that would be very arrogant to think that I KNOW.
