Experiment?
I didn't see this thread before I made my own. Mine is not an experiment - I think we should JFDI.

YES it is possible but it would be hard to find a large enough group of people,
versed in seperating themselves from their individuality in time to sway such a powerful mass of energy
No disrespect but im curious as to why you want to stop it?
Storms are part of the natural flow,
Though it seems unfortunate to an individual's mindset
the reality of the situation is that in order for there to be life and growth, death and destruction must happen.
These things only seem "bad" when you think of the people involved as "lives that can be lost" and their homes as "lost possessions"
We grow up being told that those are bad things,
We are programmed through stories and movies to always long for a happy ending.
The truth of the matter is all good things come at their own price
Even on a molecular level there are positives and negatives in every balance.
If You were able to find people and sway the storm to move It would likely take
a turn towards another land and seek its return there.
This balance does not exist to punish us but simply remind us that we are NOT THE FLESHY beings we think we are.
Every devestation leads to new life recreated by the same substance.
Even science recognizes that energy is never created or destroyed... the homes and lives lost return
in many forms. If you feel you need to save or prevent these things then you're probably not yet able to detach from your own individuality enough to merge conciousness.
Yet when you are you may find it to be superfluous
If you can't blank out the "bad" possibilities in your mind you may actually cause the situation to worsen.
Manifestation can be tricky and if you don't respect the natural
laws they will come back to bite you in the butt later.
Hardships build better character and teaches the survivors to turn to their inner selves for guidance
and even teaches them how to work together better
Lost possesions or relatives teach them to value more what they have
(instead of chaseing recent fads or spending carelessly)
And the lost lives are never truly lost anyways.
Many ancient cultures and even some still existing,
celebrate death as a passage into the great "unknown"
because the "deceased" gets to continue on their journey
It really shouldn't be viewed as such a negative fearful thing.
We all have to face it someday and personally i look forward to the next chapter.

Also i might add .. have you read anything about those haarp weather control devices? because there is also a possibility this storm was intentionally created

This has been done on Coast to Coast AM radio program where they can draw off the several million listener base.
It can be done but the lesson learned is to use caution as there can be unintended consequences.
Last I heard of them doing it was based on a severe drought in the southeast and there turned out to be too much rain in some places.

.... that is why the intent has a "disclaimer" for the highest and best good of all.
http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?13105-Ameliorate-Yasi
My intent is set so as to divert the cyclone in such a manner that its energy can be dispersed without hurting too many people or causing too much damage - for the highest and best good of all.
My request is that you join me.

ah..for me balance is the same thing as harmony, not trying to quantify for me its more of an equivelent exchange
As far as animals go, I've witnessed the passing of animals of all kinds and lost a few of my own and
i believe animals are much more accepting of death and usually know when it's gonna happen.
In one instance my friends old dog nudged him goodbye, walked outside did a little jump trick into the air where everyone could see
and when his body touched the ground he was gone from this world.
I'd had a cat who had dissappeared for a week and came back on thanksgiving to die in my arms.
Animals definately know when large storms are coming, and the majority of them probably will have vacated.
I'd hope that they don't have to suffer as well but i have a feeling with the brain drugs that occur during death they probably don't feel a thing
An animals soul is no less or more the price of a humans, a flower, an insect.
Personally from my "self" perspective I'd want to save everyone too if i didn't think there would be consequences elsewhere.
But i do commend your big heart, we could use more heros in this world

Thanks for caution Calz - I too had similar thoughts. Small changes lead to large changes - ala the Butterfly Effect. It would be best done by carefully seeing the whole system and how it could change in time.
I think John has the right idea by clearly stating his intent.
If you simply chose to, for example, alter the path then perhaps you would have karmic responsibility for those now in the path that were not originally.

I personally think we did make a difference.
It didn't hit with the force of an atom bomb - what bull**** story was that eh! When I read that news yesterday I was disgusted and angry, it was the way the fear and doom was being whipped up in the media yesterday (Aussie time) that made me post my "Ameliorate Yasi" thread.
I know its not fully over - and we need to keep it up, but...
"No reports of lives lost, says Bligh"
http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/no-reports-of-lives-lost-says-bligh-20110203-1ae7a.html
There have been no reports of any deaths or serious injuries as a result of Cyclone Yasi, Premier Anna Bligh says.
She said Cairns had been spared the worst of the monster storm, with the smaller communities of Mission Beach, Tully, Tully Heads, and Cardwell bearing Yasi's full force.
"It does seem Cairns has been spared the worst and that's a great relief," she told the Nine Network.
"The early news is not anything like I expected to hear this morning from a category five cyclone, I do stress in many cases we are yet to see any assessments."

Excerpt from The Age newspaper today:
As Cyclone Yasi tore through the small north Queensland town of Tully, Pat Brauer and her husband huddled together in their bathroom, petrified at the storm’s menacing roar.
It doesn't really come as much surprise these days, but just listen to the tone of 'reporting':
http://www.theage.com.au/environment/weather/tully-residents-reveal-horror-of-cyclones-wrath-20110203-1ae48.html
It sounds more like creative writing rather than an objective look at the facts. Unfortunately the press is full of rubbish stories like this. We need to be constantly vigilant that our minds do not get drawn into the manufactured hype.
