View Full Version : Can someone please explain “We have enormous power that we do not know we have"

I encountered this assertion in various materials and I believe this is true, but I am quite puzzled. What is this power and how can it be realized? I understand that being unconscious of the Power and the possession of it are not contradictory, as in the case of the timid lion in the Wizard of Oz. Can some wise man/woman who knows please give some explanation, and if it cannot be adequately explained, a hint or a direction to search for the answer? Any discussion is appreciated.
The answer is very important in my opinion, as it will shine the light on who we really are.

Peace to you. Perhaps you are referring to the Power of Self. Spirit, Mind and Body connection. But it has nothing to do with the name/personality/likes/dislikes or the body. It is the center of being that controls those attributes along with other functions such as heart beat, hair growth etc. The power come from focusing on connecting to this part of one self. Cosmology is what it was referred to in ancient texts. You see remnants of it in Egypt(Know Thy Self/Zodiac), China(I-ching/Chinese Medicine) and India (Yoga). I hope this helps.

Don't know if it helps but my grandson told me that, in his words, we are really big - enormous - and we squeeze into this little body. We can walk all over the world but our 'spacesuits' cannot. So he tries to forget he's in his body and tries to remember he's this huge person with no body. Might sound a bit odd but he's six years old and has already grasped what I think is pretty accurate. I think if you meditate and keep at it (practice makes perfect, says she who doesn't meditate half as much as she should!) you find you can use your mind power more and more. But there are rules.

Sounds like one of my cats.
He was the second smallest runt and has never gotten much bigger than a 12 month old cat.
But you see, he thinks he is a lion.

I could write my point of view for what its worth, but instead, I invite you to take a look at what is presented here and judge for yourself.
Of course, unfortunately, you have to take the time and effort to grasp the whole before.
This is only one facet of our Freedom, there also others in the realm of spirituality.

Yes. I think it is the power of the mind, or of consciousness. That's what I want to know more about. Meditation should be a path to this power. But regretfully I don't have this practice. Has someone meditated to a level high enough to see this power, and be able to describe it?
I suspect it is also a power collective as well as individual, but I cannot suspect more.

I find that it's all bound in rules of ethics. You may learn how to weather work for example but learning it also involves the wisdom not to use it because you will be affecting others with it. Things like this cannot be used for gain or harm to others (without consequence).
They're called siddhis I think in hinduism. They're a false path. You'll find that you can influence probability and maybe see the smears of alternate possible futures but the same rule of ethics applies and you don't use them once you've learned them.
It's self limiting. You have to have the self dicipline not to use it before you get it unless you're on a dark path and then different rules apply.

Good Afternoon!
I think the easiest description (but can be hard to grasp) is we are all an image of (or sliver of) the "creator" (however that description works for you). As such we have access to those awesome abilities. This is adjusted by proportion (we are after all only a small sliver), and the ability to get all of the junk out of the way that incarnating gave us (and we gave ourselves).
And then there is connections to the energies to do such things, which exist, but need to be excercised, and used properly.
Hope that helps,
Best!

In my point of view, the statement you quoted refers to the blindness of the vast majority of humans living on Earth and what they are missing. This blindness I'm talking about differs from case to case : some are blind to the truth of reality because of ignorance, they choose to ignore the facts and continue living their lives as " sheep " in a heard, some are blind because they were raised that way and that is part of their experience ( which can of course be altered by will ), some are blind or even blindfolded because they are way to focused on their mundane lives and strive to live " better " or live from one day to the next . I guess you understand my point on why "we" do not know of this enormous power inside each and every one of us. The actual power is, in my opinion, the simple fact the we are ALL subjects to free will and deriving from this are infinite possibilities most of which we're not even close to understanding or comprehending. Life is beautiful because it can be lived in so many (infinite) ways. Nothing can actually prevent you from achieving your goal if you find the right way, if you trust that everything you need lies inside you and searching for it elsewhere is a mistake, since all is one, and each of us are part of it and whole at the same time.

You have the power, my friend! I am sure. There are various forms of meditation, static and active.
From my research and practice, I have found that there is the common principle of "Intention" in all arts using the mind, eyes, movement and breath.
Another way to understand this is - the mind is the presence of intention, the eyes are the focus of intention, the movement is the action of intention, the breath is the flow of intention.
So, if you spend at least 5 minutes per day to start to develop the discipline/habit of taking time for yoursle while activating all four keys, you will begin to tap into your power.
The trick is to activate the unconsious aspect being which is the body, our earth suit. Moving the joints while breathing will help activate the power which will be felt immediately. Most people walk unconsiously while thinking of everything under the sun. So, walking in place could be a good start to feel your power while using intention.
It is not easy at first because it is something new. But if it becomes a habit, you will discover alot of things that are keys to your power.
I hope this helps.
BTW, the collective becomes more powerful when each individual stands up with their own unique version the Power.
Peace

To me it is hard wired and in manifestation as our dna/ not the protein building manipulated stuff of hard science/ that paradigm is dead but that we are already in constant communication with everything, unless the programming and the jamming of emf etc can break those lines of communication.
Our power thru intention that is heart felt can be as strong as a buckyball!
‘Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves – who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But honestly, who are you to not be so?
You are a child of God, small games do not work in this world. For those around us to feel peace, it is not example to make ourselves small. We were born to express the glory of god that lives in us. It is not in some of us, it is in all of us. While we allow our light to shine, we unconsciously give permission for others to do the same. When we liberate ourselves from our own fears, simply our presence may liberate others.’

Yes!
I am a fan of Bruce Lipton, who I stumbled upon just recently. He wrote the book "Biology of Belief" in which he explains, through his research integrating quantum science to find an understanding of a "new biology", taking a step away from the typical "newtonian" stance on what science has been built upon up to the most recent years, how we are able to use our unconscious mind to order DNA to behave in certain ways as to the "automatic drive" which is influenced by our conscious mind and aften leads to illness or failing to reach determined goals in our lives. (I hope that kinda makes sense.) We can be very BIG and POWERFUL if only we want to learn how!
Take a look here at a quick interview of him :

where does chi ( Qi ) come from ?
I can only give you examples from my experience of Prana/Chi/Qi/Ki.
From my experience, it is the "Totallity" that a word/definition cannot express. It is an experience of Life because it is the Universal Source of existence.
It is the source that allows you to read the characters/letters/words of these sentences while simultaneously interpreting (feel) the meaning I am conveying to you. It is also the source that allows one to feel another's happiness or suffering. It is the part of our being that controls the growith of cells, hair, finger nails etc without conscious control.
Acupuncture, Tai Chi, Yoga and other internal arts are means of tapping more into this experience to begin to gain concious control of one's existence. This may sound like mystical Fu Fu but it is very real. What makes this quite interesting is that there are some people who do not even need to practice these methods to experience it due to previous life experiences in which the training is in the DNA.
I hope this helps.

I agree with the jist of what you are saying but there are a few devils in the detail IMO:
I think siddhis and the mastery of space and time, creation and manifestation are quite different things - but naturally related.
Siddhis are not a "false" path as such - and this strikes me as common propaganda designed to stop you evolving.
Siddhis will happen to you as you evolve down most spiritual paths - they can be a big distraction - which is where they get their reputation as a false path - following them for their own sake, is sub-optimal in terms of the overall goal of spiritual evolution. Unwise exercise of these new powers can be karmically disastrous ! (Especially concerning matters of freewill)
A lot of Siddhis are astral based phenomena - another source of potential problems for the unguided.
Power requires responsibility.
Common siddhis (psychic powers) for example: clairvoyance, clairaudience, telepathy, and remote viewing[1] are handy gadgets to have up your sleeve in the same way having a multi-tool in your pocket is sometimes useful.
Correct exercise of any power natural or supernatural requires one to accept responsibility for the outcome of those actions - directly and indirectly. Once the consequence of this are clearly apprehended you can see why that if one had the faith, one would still not move mountains which look fine just where they are - and likely put there by something that knows more about stuff than the guy contemplating moving them :)
John..

I used to meditate all the time, well every night, and got quite tuned up. The hard part is when you first start to do it, to cut out the constant chatter! I can only tell you what I did and I'm no expert - I read about it and then gave it a go. You find a comfortable peaceful place, sit cosy and relax. Then try to concentrate on pushing your energy to the front of your head...I know, it sounds weird. And try to think of nothing. You will find your mind tries to fill the quiet with inane chatter - did I pay the phone bill? Should I go out this weekend or stay at home - discuss, and on it goes, but try to just observe these thoughts from above, let them come and go and don't get consciously involved with them. Eventually they will stop, or become very few and far between. Once you are at a place where your mind is still (can take quite a few sessions) then you can begin to do whatever you wish to do, visualise (which is what I did to great success), travel and view, send out love to a target...etc.
I visualised the planet from my viewpoint in space, being bathed in love and light and healing. It may not have made much difference to earth but it is at the very least a beautiful way to spend half an hour and who knows, maybe it helped an atom. I've also visualised myself outside of my spacesuit but only had a true OOBE once, which scared me because there were people in my house who I had never seen before - that's a little mindblower.
As I say I can only speak from experience, I didn't ever 'see' an enormous power, I just used my own uncovered power to improve myself and my life, and those around me. But after a couple of years something happened that stopped me being able to do it at all, and its like anything else, you get rusty if you don't practice. I'm getting back to a lifestyle where I can take it up again and so I will so we can swap techniques at some point. I would love to be able to turn the world around but I honestly don't know if we can do that even if many link up....maybe someone who is more advanced can advise on that.
You mustn't try to change someone else's will though, you can put your case but that's all you can do. And once when I tried to punish someone, one of my family suffered for my efforts and that put me off meditating for quite some time.

I totally agree - I think we are born knowing we are special and great and then we are told by every mortal around us that we are too loud, too cheeky, too little to understand, too silly - all that before we get to school when the real mind control starts! I wish I had a quid for every time my teachers told me I didn't try hard enough, was too stupid to be anything, would never make anything of myself, etc. When you're good or clever as a child, the adults just shrug or pay no attention, so the programming is all negative. I promised myself I would never do that to my kids so at least they had a haven of unconditional love and support. But my grandchild is something else entirely...he will argue with anyone who tries to put him down. I honestly believe the old souls are coming in to give us a shove in the right direction.

In Kahuna they call it prana - you have the Mana which is the subconcious workings as you say, then the Mana Mana which is your thinking, operating self, then the Mana Loa which is your higher self. Its the life force in its three different uses. Shame that all the old cultures had the same basic principles and we called them heathens, savages to be tamed and reduced.

the energy of the indigo ray/3rd eye may, if activated, serve as a 'shuttle' to penetrate the veil into time/space, whereupon one may be faced with the truth of our infinite being as a singular expression of the one infinite creator, even to the point of changing in a flash our entire perception of self and hence every other portion of our experience on this side of the veil.
that's what the question seems to point toward, to me.

I had hints of this power throughout my childhood. School was mostly annoying to me because it was not challenging, so sometimes I would watch what was going on in class from up on the ceiling. I didn't realize at the time that it was unusual to leave your body and watch things from a different place. My mother introduced my sister and me to science fiction at an early age and we began reading avidly when we were about 5. When I started kindergarten it was a big shock that other kids didn't read a lot and didn't know much, so I never fit in and didn't care because I was not interested in being like anyone else.
One of the first stories I wrote at about 7 years old was about being an alien in this world and that my mother and father were not really related to me but I was put with them. I truly remember believing that while I was growing up in the 50's. My willpower was huge and I had no fear of or respect for any so called authority figure from the time I was born. So I was pretty much left to my own devices with almost no rules at all imposed by my parents. They completely gave up trying to get me to do anything by force. Both of them had genius IQ's but they couldn't cope with my stubbornness.
My grandparents were metaphysicians and my grandfather was a hands on healer coming from a Christian Science background, but they had an extensive library of metaphysical books of all kinds which I read starting at an early age. I read one of their books about communicating with animals and thought I would try mental telepathy with a fly. LOL... so I thought calming, friendly thoughts to a fly that was in the house, held out my hand and the fly came and landed on my finger! Over the years I tried communication with different animals and it worked.
So I knew that we humans had some great latent powers, from my reading and from some of my early experiences. It took me many years and a wide variety of experiences to find the answer to my questions about our human potential to tap into our full powers. There were some intermittent experiences with powers like communicating with spirits, engaging in what I called a "mind meld" with other people where you would become one with them, but all of these instances only served to whet my appetite to really know our FULL potential.
When I was 33 my 2nd husband and I started a type of meditation that was of the East Indian Sikh tradition. It was meditating on the light and sound. The practice was to meditate very early in the morning at about 4 am when distracting energies are most quiescent. You mentally repeat a mantra, look inside to see the light and close your ears with your fingers to listen to the sound current. The theory is that the light and sound are actual currents or waves of energy that if concentrated upon will pull you out of your body. This practice is called Surat Shabd Yoga, the yoga of light and sound.
I began leaving my body within a couple of months and that began many years of my travels on other dimensions. I rarely stayed in the dimensions close to this earth plane but on a few occasions I went to the Akashic Records, which I always laughingly described as wiggling green wormlike energy packets containing all knowledge of the earth and inhabitants (maybe a type of living 'machine' that holds the matrix together?); past, present and future (but there is actually no time, so all these things exist concurrently). The Akashic Records were "close" to the earth dimension, although it really is impossible to describe relative "distance". Each time I left my body I was living in eternity, so it could seem like millions of years had passed when I was only out of body for an hour or so. I didn't find the Akashic Records very interesting, nor was the earth plane or my human existence at ALL interesting to me since there were so many dimensions that were "lighter" and more filled with bliss.
But the true POWER, which took me a few months of out of body experiences to discover, was love. The other dimensions can be frightening, blissful, adventurous and filled with battles and blissful mergings with other beings until you find and surrender to the ultimate power of love. Then you are all powerful and can easily merge with the Source and then come back into the creation as you are creating it while you are the Source. There was nothing further that I could find or imagine that was more powerful than this. I knew love was all there is/was/will be. I could not have understood what is meant by "love" until I experienced it. It is not what most imagine it to be here on earth.
After 7 years I stopped meditating and leaving my body and concentrated on martial arts and esoteric knowledge research. My kundalini activated and I spent about a year burning, seeing into other dimensions while totally awake, being visited by ET's and other dimensional beings, seeing lots of UFO's, orbs, etc. I also developed what I call "farsight", where I could see long distances in detail like they were close up. The activated kundilini state was not comfortable to be in as I had to take several showers a day to stay cool. It felt like I was breathing fire constantly and my back was very uncomfortable, sort of like I was growing "wings"! This only stopped when I met my 4th husband and his energy was so powerful that it chased away all the other beings and (I don't know how else to say this) the intensity of our passion finally burned out the fire I had lived with for a year. He is my soul mate or twin flame for whom I had been searching all my life. His life experiences were as intense as mine in different ways. We are well matched and even more in love after 15 years.
So we do have enormous power, each and every one of us. The journey can be long to find the ultimate power and it takes a strong intention, a willingness to try many different things and the wisdom to not get stuck for too long in any one path or with one guru/teacher. For some people it comes quite easily, others of us must persist for many years, but we will all get there whether it is in this life or after we die. Of course death is an immediate awakening into a new and greater life, released from the tiny prison of this earth body. As much as I love my life and my children and grandchildren I am looking forward to death with great anticipation!

I certainly didn't mean don't learn them, they sort of come as part of the package. You'll know when the right time is to use them, it's overwhelming when that happens. (And I see no problem with things like telepathy if both (or more) are willing partners. Can be a bit scary at first)

Thank you NancyV for sharing! I travelled behind the veil as well and can only say that words are not enough to describe what I experienced ... it felt as if I was a particle at large, ever expending, everlasting fragment of “formless form “uniting with the whole ... bathing in brilliant, welcoming light. My journeys into other dimensions made me understand how there is nothing to fear ... and there is only Love ... and the Source of this Love! Yes, there is so much potential in us and every human being has to find the most suitable key that will do the trick. It is possible to unleash this immense power that has been entrusted to all so it could be found again ...

As you would know, questions can often be for confirmation, as well as inquiring.
And I learnt in sales many years ago ''he who asks the questions is in control of the conversation'' so questions can have different reasons, depending on the required outcome.

Your grandson has it right. Here's a more technical description. I'll present it here, the way it was presented to me.
Shift your attention to the sole of you foot. Notice how much room it takes, how much space it covers on the floor. This is an analogy of your conscious mind, the part that observes the world in 5 senses form/perception, the spacesuit's lens so to speak, aka-ego, a lot of people think of our egos as an entity, a little self, it's not, it just the focussing device of the space suit.
Now, still holding your attention on the space the soul of your foot inhabits on the floor beneath it, imagine you are in a football stadium, look at all the space around you, the full length and width of the football stadium, or a convention hall. That is your other-than-conscious self, your non-local mind, the real you that the six year old understands is waaaaaayyyyy too large for the spacesuit. This is the Place of our Power, we live in this environment through the suit, but we are much larger than the suit.
It doesn't take much to begin to navigate through this local environment from this larger place. It does initially take trust, because we've been severely programmed to think we are the suit, and the lens/navigational device of the suit. Just practice shifting your center of identity from the suit to the being moving through the suit.
For example, yesterday it came to my attention that many of the old time avalonians are struggling with some of the changes that have happened here since Charles' interview and tons of new member began joining the forum. So, when this came to my attention, I then set the soulution, made a request of this larger, OTC portion of me to harmonize, the OTC portion of ourselves in very holographic in nature, we are everywhere, everywhen, and amongst each other all the time, and even in all the non-time.
So, this morning, I awake and I am delighted to perceive from my personality perception suit that people everywhere on this forum have been, are and continue to be reaching out to each other; the concern presented to me, has in fact, never actually existed, and is already resolved.
This takes a shift in our understanding of reality, or the underlying structure of how we perceive and experience. In my experience, you can gain this "power" simply by changing your mind about, or your location, of your personal identity.
Yikes, this is my first time of trying to describe this, I apologise if its confusing, I'm sure with practice we'll all get better at it.

Hi Syrwong, thanks for the Tread!,
IMHO, I think that within our spirit, within our divine self, we are powerful, our spirit is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent!, but we are prisoner of our body. And we were raised to think diminutively of ourself, we were educated to think in line with the system, etc., etc.
So, we need to develop ways to get access to these within this limitation. Meditation is one great way, attitude works greats, and you may find others if you dwelt in your search toward these powers.
All my blessings.

We have enormous power that we do not use..............................
First off I have not had time to read all above me. My time is limited, and I am very busy. However I beileve I should intervene and say my part. I think perhaps things like this will be written by me time and time again until it cements into peoples consiounsess. Just writing it once it is mostly ignored.
MAN IS A WEAKLING, YET SPIRITUALLY HE IS A GIANT. LOVE IS THE ONLY PATH, IT IS WHAT WE ARE.
IMAGINE 3 TO 5000 OF US DOING THIS AROUND THE WORLD, IT COULD BE MORE POWERFUL THAN HARRP.
The hard part is 1. making people BEILEVE IT. And 2. GETTING PEOPLE TO ACT UPON IT.
1. There was a time many years ago, I was given Crystals charged by the Alantean Crystal Ball, but there USE came in to view just a few years ago. Does everyone need these crystals to work on this project? NO. IT CAN BE DONE BY ANYONE ANYWHERE ANYTIME WITHOUT ANYTHING BUT THEMSELVES.
2. Distance does not exist. My mind and desires can be ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME.
3. DESIRE AND PURE INTENT OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is an absolute NECCESSITY. With the spiritual understanding that Unconditional Love to the physical heals the physical body, Uncondtional Love to the Spirit heals and strengthens and protects the Spirit moving towards God. Unconditional Love to the Soul, Strengthens and Protects and allows to grow the God within a person. As well as stimulates the God within. (Pure Being.)
4. All Crystals including the 14 Crystal Skulls and All the Alantean Crystal balls posses Spirit essensece and likely Soul essense. All things do.
5. The Creator and Pure being are the Master.
6. Visualize a white spiritual pryamid, white represents the highest forum of thought.......Love peace.
7. Imagine and materialize the Creator at the top sending Pure unconditional love to him with the Desire that this love flows down the side of the pryamid to the base, where they meet the 14 Crystal skulls and Crystal balls. You need not know consiously where they are on Earth. The fact that YOU ARE a SPIRITUAL BEING YOU CAN DO THIS. It follows the Laws of thought desire and surrender to the Creator.
8. Allow the intent to go to the spiritual essense of the Crystals. Stimualting the Creator within them with the desire that they magnify the uncondtional love outward.
9. In the middle of the Glass white pryamid of uncondtional love, you may place, one person or his spirit, or, All of Camelot and Avalon assoicated with this. Or All Crystals Starseeds and Indigos there spirit or physical within the pryamid all around the world. Yes the pryamid is that big.
10. In doing this I have actually had the Crystals appear to me for instances. I have actually felt the power.
I have envisions when doing this that grow such as, a small pryamid within my third eye, a prymaid around me, and a larger one encompassing everything. A throne of a white seat that I am sitting on. The visions only grow more intense more complexed and more powerful as time moves on.
11. It may be necessary to first threw the Creator send prayers of love to the Soul of the Crystals for them to get to know you.
Truely this is how power spiritual man IS.

Thank you all for relating your experiences and the metaphysical discussions. Many are very interesting and I believe pointing to the right direction of the answer to this fundamental question. I would
now think its answer is the answer to who we really are. The ignorance to this power is the ignorance to who we are.

Here's a link to his site : http://www.brucelipton.com/
I'm sure there are videos on UT too.
Bruce Lipton’s video-talk resonates in me. I think my question is multi-faceted, and will have answers in various dimensions. His knowledge/theory gives a very relevant answer. I must delve in more of his work. Thank you.
When I started kindergarten it was a big shock that other kids didn't read a lot and didn't know much, so I never fit in and didn't care because I was not interested in being like anyone else.
......
Nancy :)
I love to hear your awesome stories, particularly the one about the fly. They confirm that my questions and my search are very meaningful. It is astonishing to learn that your life long search, and which began early and already in an advanced state, converged to the one answer of love.

if so
why do so many here on this forum
ask questions ?
:jester:

As the theoretical physicist put it, "we used to stand around the blackboard and explain to each other what none of us understood"
As you would know, questions can often be for confirmation, as well as inquiring.
And I learnt in sales many years ago ''he who asks the questions is in control of the conversation'' so questions can have different reasons, depending on the required outcome.
And in another age, rhetoric was one of the three studies included in the Trivium of medieval universities.

Your question is rightfully put forward as a human being and therefore you search for the answer as a human. In truth your are much more then just one dimensional and you have to start to think that way.
The vast majority of us have been conditioned from birth to think like a human only. To deduce and use our brains only in one dimension. When we do that, and all of us do our ego's gets in the way and it almost always leads us to the wrong answers.
The truth of the matter is that you are a soul first and a human second. Your soul is being temporarily housed in your human body for as long as your body can sustain life. Once life of the human body is lost your soul moves on with the knowledge that you gained here on earth.
So in essence, start to think like the soul you are and not the human that you have become for only a short period of time. It simply takes the convictions of your beliefs that you are simply a soul. If you start thinking with your heart and not your mind you will get there.

so many ways to look at this issue, but know we are already equipped with this chi and it is an infinite source/ a quick poem from my heart to you...
Allow the Light that shines forth
From within you and without you
Let it cross thru and spin your heart
And lift you from the density
Where the angles of Lights effects
Are the angels of Lights guides.
On to where is the Nine, the torus that shines
For all is hidden in Nines and then it unwinds…
The eagle rises effortlessly
Pulled by systems of stars
The gentle tugging of Venus and Mars
Until they are only clouds within clouds.
Earth obscured there, is cleansed
Away from the 3D prison of form
And we are led to the gates of heaven
In an wingless flight from easy logics
To where mathematics reduce to one and zero
And then in dual wonder do climb
Thru the double helix of Time…
There is only Now, you know
But Oh that moment, where
Tick and Tock meet and stop
There is the intersection of galaxies
Where white holes emerge
From the black confinement of compression
From where the flower unfolds
From seed to shiny seed
This, where all vortex and vertex lead.

Thank you for the question Syrwong....something wonderful to ponder
I saw this video yesterday and thought of this thread. I have not read this book nor do I know the author but the message here is quite beautiful I think. It made me feel our greatness.... Hope you enjoy!

The sentence which stands out most for me and is relevant to the answer to my question is:
As the time lag between the inception of thought and the manifestation of reality diminishes, it becomes obvious to you that you are creating all of it
Assuming the author is knowledgeable, this means that one aspect of the power we have is the ability to manifest reality. And we will soon have better knowledge and control of this power, and at the same time understand better who we really are.
