I would like to open a thread in order to log times and other information people can give about the tones they hear in their ears from time to time.
I have heard people say that it was a download of information and depending on which ear and the pitch depends on the information or upload.
I do not have tinnitus but i have been hearing tones of a high pitch in my ears on and off for more time than i can remember.
Sometimes it is only obvious because it makes me realise i was infact listening to static and had got used to it. The tones typically last between 2 and 7 seconds in duration and although they come on at full tone they often peter out.
When i go to sleep and everything is quiet i hear a constant tone in my head or should i say uniform. It lasts as long as i don't focus on it too much.
I feel it could be beneficial for myself and hopefully other people to log here the time, duration and which ear they heard the tone in. Other information can be added too but the critical thing is to see if we are hearing tones at the same time and also in the same times of day/night.
See if we can build up a pattern.
This morning at 06:20 GMT ( london ) i heard a strong medium pitched tone in my right ear. It was preceded by a short burst of static that i may have been concentrating on for some while.
If i have access to my mac i will record and post ( hopefully in real time) the next event.
Like i said, it would help the experiment if other people posted too.
