Hi all

I periodically get a soreness of the back of my skull, at the base of the skull on my right hand side. A particular point becomes tender which lasts for a few days.

Anyone experience anything similar?

Do you have sinus problems?

Strangest thing but yes I do. Slightly painful but not a problem really?

Do you have sinus problems?

Hey Beth

Yes I do. Just getting over a sinus infection, which turned to broncitus, causing asthma...

This is something which has come and gone for the last couple of years - think the sinus problems may be linked to the pain in the skull?

Those that suffer with sinus problems usually have discomfort there. Sometimes helps to give it a little massage and drains the sinuses. But as always, if it's a problem, contact your doctor.

Why can't this just be intermittent spasm where the trapezium muscle inserts into the skull? Have you tried gently stretching the muscle to relieve spasm? Gently bend the neck so that you are looking downwards and to the left, i.e., stretching the R trapezium muscle. If it helps, clasp your hands behind your head and use the weight of your arms to stretch the neck muscles. Repeat down to the right to stretch the L trapezium. Helps me.

I experience exactly that, just in the last few weeks, and my sinus is a non event, never had it ever.

me toooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! but moves between L & R - pain shoots up from base to almost crown. transient pain - about 20 seconds only. No sinus issues that I know of. Only in last couple of weeks.

Spose its a break from the ear noises?

Should we start a hypochondria thread?
