We have learned through foreign sources that Hosni Mubarak was flown this morning to a Baden hospital in Germany after falling into a coma. The report was confirmed this morning by Bahrain daily Al Wasat who indicated that just prior to leaving for his resort in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Mubarak became comatose.

Apparently, prior to delivering his last speech on national Egyptian television, we also learned that Mubarak had fainted. This is the explanation given for the delay between the announcement of his anticipated speech and his actual appearance several hours later.

Sources: Mubarak falls into coma in Sharm al-Sheikh

Ousted President Hosni Mubarak went into a coma on Saturday at his residence in Sharm al-Sheikh, according to well-informed sources.
Mubarak flew to the Red Sea resort town on Thursday with his immediate family following his final speech, in which he handed over executive authority to former Vice-President Omar Suleiman.
The same sources said that Mubarak was currently receiving medical treatment but that no decision had yet been made on whether to transfer the 83-year-old former head-of-state to hospital.

Ariel Sharon in coma for five years, one week before Mubarak joined him...

With little fanfare, Israel on Tuesday marked five years since former prime minister and tough army general Ariel Sharon fell into a coma, ending a controversial political and military career.

The long-time leader of the right-wing nationalist camp in Israeli politics suffered a massive stroke on January 4, 2006, slipping into a coma from which he has never recovered.

His family have kept him alive on life support, although the former strongman has shown no sign of improvement or indication that he is likely to recover.

No official events marked the anniversary, while Sharon remains hospitalised in the Haim Sheba medical centre at the Tel Hachomer hospital in Tel Aviv.

His family in mid-November transferred him briefly to the family ranch, Sycamore Farm, to test whether his condition could be kept stable outside of a hospital environment.

Sharon, now 82, returned less than two days later to hospital, but his family has said they hope to bring him back permanently to the ranch in southern Israel.

The former premier collapsed five months after he embarked on a radical new path that saw him pull out all Jewish settlers and soldiers from the Gaza Strip after 38 years of occupation.

It was an unexpected move for a man better known for his military background and hardline support of settlers...

OK it was me who retired Hosni. I couldn't stand the greedy bastard! :p

On a more serious note: after a Google search I question the reliability of the information. I think the MSM would have to report on it because it would be embarrassing to them if they delayed the news or not report it at all.

Hate to disappoint all you aware theorists but he was rumored to have cancer and that was the reason he was preparing the way for his son Gamal to take over before the protesting. Looks like this was all brought on by the events of the last few weeks.

He did say in one of his recent speeches he planned to die in Egypt...either he thought of himself as being a pharaoh and needed to die in Egypt for some occult reason or that his days were counted by a disease...

That would be St Mary's Glacier in Colorado. It is absolutely beautiful there, one of my favorite places to hike. The view in front of me is spectacular with a pristine lake in the foreground.
You could send your young apprentice, Lord Vader, there for vacation. Does he like to hike?
He could snowboard on the glacier.

Nope, I can't trust him in the wilderness, last time he went out there, I had to go get him and he had no arms or legs left.
I warned him about lava before that too.

Yeah but then, when your in the middle of a meeting, they call up and start talking about some aluminum falcon and how your brand new death star got destroyed. Then to top it off, when you discipline them for it, they start crying like a little girl about padamommy or whatever her name is.
Completely unprofessional.

Perhaps it was simply his resistance to leaving office that caused someone with the tech to do this to move him along.
If you don't provide the appearance of freedom to the masses, the masses will look more intently behind the curtain.

A coma! How convenient!

Obviously someone is cleaning up. The Egyptians better keep their eyes on the $70 billion Mubarak apparently has stashed away...

Additionally, I heard that a total of 18 ancient relics were stolen from one or more museums. It'd be interesting to know the exact nature of those relics.

Yes the relic angle concerning many events during the last decade is one of the most interesting lines of speculation I have heard of.
Several people have talked about relics. or A relic. More than one source have cited underground tunnels to bases in Afghanistan, and or relics in the areas as reasons for occupation there.

I personally don't think that the potential relics are the sole reason for the revolution, but I definitely think it's possible that they took advantage of the chaos and took them while everyone was distracted.
