Show me. I'm from Missouri and I am skeptical.
Why am I skeptical? Because many of you are not
serious. Many of you are here to be entertained
and as keyboard commandos do not have the what
with to scratch with to make the rubber meet the road.
This means conviction, faith, focus, and motivation to
really make it happen in DEED. It is easy to flap your jaws
and chew the rag making the time pass. It is quite another
thing to roll up your collective sleeves and really make it
happen. To put your sweat where your mouth is.
I was with the original Avalon almost from its very beginning
and I was a researcher there for the GROUND CREWS (remember them?)
Fritz, Henry, Winadeyo, and I among others built a library for you
which was to be a repository of information for the GROUND CREWS
around the world (remember them?) And quite a library it had started
off to be. I still have a copy of it archived before it collapsed.
As far as I know Bill Ryan never visited our library and never acknowledged
our efforts. He just vanished. The forum descended into a dismal state,
the ground crews vaporized except for the heroic efforts of John WATERMAN.
I left in disgust after saying things which I regret and apologize for here
publically today.
I am not here to attempt to recreate that. That is for you to do or not do.
My purpose here today was to closely follow the Charles event and to communicate with
him. I have accomplished that purpose. Since late 2008-early 2009 we have gone a different
path and connected with a real community which has a history of hundreds of years and a bright
future if they survive what is coming. My offering for you today is to describe the attributes
of a real community.
The REASON the old Avalon collapsed is because it lacked focus. It lacked faith. It lacked conviction.
It is not enough to run away from something. You must have a goal to run to. My community today has
faith unto death. They are not perfect, but what holds the peculiar people together is the promise
and the hope of eternal life in the kingdom beyond death. They might be wrong. They might be deluded.
They might be antiquated. They might be obsolete. But their community works and has for hundreds of years.
Their children are polite educated and obedient. They are prosperous. They are united and cohesive. They are
also accountable and have a common foundation from which they work.
The old Avalon worked great prior to October 8th 2008 because they were all running from something, but had
nowhere to go. Then when October came and went the "community" just vaporized because the dramatic collapse
did not happen. Like my own extended family they were upset at food they had bought and preparations they
had made and nothing happened? Bickering ensued and cohesiveness was lost. It was over. Oh ye of little faith!
One of my Pastors came back last week from three weeks away in Lancaster Pennsylvania teaching Bible school.
Flush from his experience he gave a powerful sermon last Sunday on the attributes of community. I took some
notes to share with you here today. He also brought me a book called "The Happening" which is an account of
the schoolgirl shootings at Nickel Mines. He is tugging at my heartstrings because he knows that this event
is what brought me to their door. Marian Fisher and her class mates are branded on my heart. He wants us to join
the ekklesia.
Community through the eyes of the elect:
BOND BROTHERHOOD COHESION ADHESION FUSION
The Church, the bond of the Brotherhood.
Oneness
Unity
Oneness of God's Church
God's people
household of faith
common ground
Neglect through indifference loosens the bonds
-The congregation maintains the unity through diligence and a bond of brotherhood
A maintenance program
-common relationship Hebrews 2:9-12
9But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
-Establish a family
-part of God's family
- Brothers and Sisters
-fostering spiritual ties and relationships
-Bond of love
-willing to lie down your life (Marian Fisher,13 years old shoot me first hoping to save her younger classmates)
-common standard which unites
-acts 2:42
-They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
We do it together, we did it together
Sacrifice
Acts 4:32
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
Forward and further the cause of the kingdom
A common vision of the future
- the saved one day be in glory together
- eternal implications
I am at risk of being too verbose. So I conclude with this thought. What is your vision? Where are you going? I do not ask that you follow
my path or think as I do. But I will ask you; where are you going, rather than what are you running from?
When I first arrived here, Anchor welcomed me. I thank him for that. I also told him that I will not participate very much if at all for
my goal is to be separate from the world. But the world encroaches upon me, and I am not quite as nonresistant as the brotherhood of the Saints. So I am speaking out once again, throwing the gauntlet down at your feet. It's a new world if you have the courage to take it. Charle's Master has a plan, do you
have a vison? What shall you do? I am from Missouri - show me.
I have already said too much.
