Very nice Celine.
Forgive me for diverting you to Europe, but here is a version or two that is a real cracker.
These are from the pipes and drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

And again from the same regiment.

And even though this isn't Amazing Grace, I couldn't help it.

This is Scotland The Brave and Highland Laddie.
In this vid, you can see the only man in the entire British army with a white bearskin, the drummer.
This regiment is also the only Scots regiment with a pipe band and a brass band as they were a cavalry regiment, hence the guys wearing trousers.

Anyways, to the lions of the north from a distant kinsman, this one was for you.
Alba gu brath.

And a little history, enlightening us to the terrible soulful truth that has inspired millions to embrace this wonderful melody; without us truly understanding why . . .

Music has an influence on us all, though I often wonder if each of us have a type of music that's 'personal' to them - a kind of 'tuning in' to our own individual vibes.... or, do different types of music (wording this badly, maybe sounds = vibrations?) affect us all in the same way? Or both...

Maybe I should have picked the user name; "Apprentice" ;)

@ those of you posting bagpipery (yay, new word!), my mother couldn't listen to any of it without sobbing quietly to herself - though conotations with her past - the moving music and history of their use during her 'war years' - might be part of it.

Lord Sidious,

The YouTube version your first video links to [SCOTLAND. Amazing Grace - Royal Scots Dragoon Guards ] has a timeless quality about it. Very beautiful.

I haven't seen anyone do a better version than them and I have seen a lot of different versions.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

AMEN
