Everything that you have ever heard or read, are hearing or reading, will ever hear or read ... is a psychological operation as a rule. The exceptions being those sounds and sights that are grounded in facts.

Some will squeak from the brain and con you.
Some will wrap from the heart and warm you.
Some will speak with disdain and alarm you.
Some will just load disinformation upon you.

Assume that all that come at you do so with psychological operations. Some will bring attitudes; some will bring platitudes ... still others, give and take gratitude ... others yet, a lexical lunch filled with bowls of liquid meanings and samovars of vicissitude.

There is but one sure way to escape the psychological operations - and maybe the only way - and that is eternal vigilance in the defense of truth.

To wit, bash the falsehoods, the blinding wools, and the nattering of nontruths ... wherever ye find them, stone cold dead! Tolerance of lies is not a path to enlightenment but a deception in itself. As you bash the nontruths, do so with logic and critical analysis. Remember, while you are free to post anything here on Avalon that befits the charter, the quality of your posts and the quality of the discussion and/or debate, contributes to the quality of the forum.

With that in mind, I urge the utmost restraint in the use of fallacious argumentation (and we've all been there, including myself) such as the tactic and/or misdirected energy of the ad hominem. Many a good argument has been lost in the decibels of the delivery truck backfiring.

Make companion with the truth, not as you see it or I see it, or as he or she sees it ... but as it exists ... and we shall make Avalon the place to be once again. Thanx in advanx. Humble opinions all around.

Hey Zook didn't Nxon's VP Spiro Agnew say something about the nattering naybobs of negativism?...........I was never sure if that was alliteration or onomatopoeia

I don't mean you are being negative ..... it's just been so long since I heard anything even close to that particular quote ;)

Boy, I had to haul out my thesaurus for that. http://i30.tinypic.com/4hp0tx.gif

You managed to make me laugh with your artful humour, considering the nature and purpose of the post. :)
Thank you.
