I would think a good start to this new healing forum would be a thread in which the various techniques of healing are discussed.

In my case I adopt a rather simple approach - and it is based on what I have learned studying the law of one and similar work. It is incomplete and only one way among very many to do this.

I think that the reason things like healing and meditation are made to appear complex and specialized is a trick of the forces of darkness to stop people even trying! Or making people feel that they are not good enough in some way. Nonsense! Of course they don't want you healing or meditating or expressing any of your creative powers. They don't want you knowing that we are ALL creators, manifestors and healers. There is no human in incarnation for whom the healing function is out of reach. I have a thread on meditation called meditating simply http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?3779-Meditating-simply that deals with this in respect of meditation.

There are sophisticated techniques for healing available to trained adepts, but in the main, you can call on higher beings to do the heavy lifting. I would be pleased to see some of these methods described on this thread - and I have an interest in the metaphysical science behind them.

So following this paragraph are my basic thoughts on the subject. Some or all my opinions here could be wrong, and I would love to talk about any issues people have with what I say here. I respectfully request that you do not do anything I ask or suggest below, unless your heart concurs with what you understand from what I write and that you accept responsibility for your actions in this regard. I am certainly NOT an expert or an authority in this field, I am a student who thinks he has learned some things that are communicable.

Here goes....

First, avoid messing with freewill.

We are all responsible for every thought we think, action we take, or word we utter. Even if our actions from the pure heart of selfless service we become responsible for the outcome due to the actions we each take as individuals.

I think therefore, it is very advisable to take the measures that you personally need to to ensure that the of healing is done with the full and concious knowledge permission of the recipient.

There are of course complexities with regard to minors or people in the care of others who have lost the ability to express themselves. In my case I usually defer to the parents of children under 12 as able to grant permission on behalf of a child.

Second, has the person requiring healing understood the situation they are in and why?

I maintain that there is a reason for everything that happens.

In the cases where catalyst is being delivered to someone in order to teach them something or help them evolve, then having its outcomes healed away may not necessarily the best outcome for them (and may even be prevented).

The reasons are often very subtle - and the tool for investigating would be meditation on the part of the person requesting healing, or perhaps counselling from the healer. Once you have worked out what the catalyst is and identified the part of the evolutionary curriculum you are going through, and then usually you can complete the healing easily (a final confirmation you all got it right).

Healing, according to what I have learned is when one offers oneself as a catalyst for the healed to be transformed to a new state of beingness that is "healed"; one becomes a channel for the energies of infinite intelligent infinity (that is all of creation).

That awesome power can bring about healing in one who has forgiven the self and the other-selves in the matters that relates to the condition that is to be healed and therefore brings about the changes into the state of being healed in accordance with the universal laws.

It is worthwhile encouraging or counselling the person requesting healing on this subtle point. In my opinion, healing and forgiveness go hand in hand.

Before I start the "working"

I feel it right to offer gratitude for the day and my life, this opportunity and this moment. I also feel it appropriate to ask for guidance, help, blessings and protection for this working, for both myself and the recipient. My way is to ask it in the love and in the light of the one infinite creator, or for short: Lord.

The simple healing method

One simply intends for healing to occur in line with what is for the highest and best good of the patient.

I feel that one is opening ones channels of healing energy on behalf of the recipient, and all the necessary metaphysical machinery of the universe can work with that channel according to the laws of attraction, balance, and allowance.

That conditional "for the highest and best good " on the end of the healing expression of healing intent is a failsafe - if there are any "special" reasons why healing may not proceed it kicks in and prevents problems and violations of universal law.

Among the problems to be avoided could be the freewill choice of the individual that in the current incarnation is concealed behind the veil of forgetfulness in respect of the recipient. For example: matters relating to pre-incarnation decisions which may include illness or disease for which healing has been sought but which the recipient consciously does not know or realize.

If you don't feel you are getting anywhere - ask your guides/higher-self/helpers for assistance/feedback. Go back to step two perhaps and ask the recipient to do this... help them.

The energy is infinite - you cannot waste it - apply liberally.

It is my wish as you read this to be aware of my blessing given in the light and in the love of the one infinite creator, that we may all be able to help provide healing to all those that need it.

Love

John..

Hello Anchor! Newbie member here... I wanted to thank you for posting this very interesting read much appreciated. I'm a healer too and found your post to be extremely useful and also thought provoking. (One of the reasons i joined here was for exactly this sort of discussion - i know only a few people to talk to about this in 'real life' if you follow me.) I've been knowingly healing for a couple of years now and am still learning constantly... Always in the state of 'beginners mind' lol! :)

I absolutely agree with you regarding your first point of working with free will and gaining permission first before working with an individual. Personally i would never work with someone without that permission and aside from your salient points made, which i agree with - i simply consider it bad manners to not gain consent, it goes against the grain for me on a 'gut' level and have never understood the few i've spoken to who don't. Also when dealing with healing energy work i would say that the effects of the work could be most disconcerting, possibly frightening and therefore counter productive if the recipient does not know it's happening.

What you say about the person you are working with forgiving themselves on a soul level is key and in my opinion you put it beautifully and succinctly, nothing to add there.

Before i start to work i do prework if possible - asking for guidance and help during meditation i find necessary. Amongst other things i also do daily (or more) affirmations - this i believe raises my vibrational state, helps my own healing (for myself) and helps me to help others in a very real way. This helps on the protection front too in my opinion - if i'm flying so high then nothing negative can touch either myself or the individual i'm working with. I also explain this concept to the 'patient' - i'm of the opinion that this will help the individual afterwards too - especially if healing and energy work are new concepts for them.

When i work, i work in a very visual way - i use visualisations a lot and i like to take a little time to get these clear and bright before i work too; asking my guide as necessary for help with this. My visualisations, to me, are one and the same as stating my intention to the universe - alongside stating the work is for the highest best for the individual with unconditional love - and i totally agree that then the laws of the universe will follow.

As for your point about working with children, that was really interesting as the only children i've worked with are my own. This helped me solidify my 'code of ethics' for this situation when it arises :D

Thank you again for your great post and Project Avalon rocks!!

Best and brightest blessings to all,

Rain

I have gathered some links here for those interested in reading some quality channeled "research" material on the subject of healing.

This is channeled information and therefore your discretion is both recommended and encouraged, because it may not all be ok.

That said, I find this material, many thousands of pages of it in fact at L/L Research, extraordinarily resonant.

Some of those thousands are here:

I think that when people claim to be healers, they should
specify whether they are spiritual or physical healers or
maybe they are both.

People like me that know nothing about it, tend to get confused
by the word healer.

This is my own practice and is what works for me. Keep in mind I am untrained and ignorant as far as schools of healing.
SELF
1: focus on the area that needs healing
2: breath in fresh healthy energy
3: let that energy surround the area in question
4: breath out the negative energy

OTHERS (sucking poison from a wound)
1: focus on the area that needs healing
2: breath in the negative energy causing the problem
3: breath our that negative energy

PLEASE don't get the wrong idea I do not claim to be a healer. This is a practice that works for me, and has worked in the few that have asked me to try it on them. I'm not sure why they would of asked to be honest since until now I have never even talked about this type of healing. to give an example: Years ago a close friend asked me to stop a pain in her leg. Out of the blue she said Jason stop the pain in my leg, and I did. I felt the pain as I breathed in and let the pain go as I breathed out. She told me it worked, that she no longer felt the pain. I often use the same exercise on myself with good results. I feel like a crack pot typing this lol but this is my uninformed uneducated practice.
