I know it's easy to be wise after the event, and there are no prizes for guessing that sooner or later Japan will be hit by bigger earthquakes than usual since it sits right on the Pacific "Ring of Fire", but when I heard the news about the latest quake I remembered Edgar Cayce's predictions made 60 years ago:
* The Great Lakes will empty into the Gulf of Mexico.
* Los Angeles and San Francisco will disappear as land along the west coast of America breaks up.
* Japan will sink into the sea.
* The upper portion of Europe will be changed instantaneously.
* New land will appear off the East coast of America.
* Following increased volcanic activity, earthquake activity will increase in California as well as the area between the south of Nevada and Salt Lake.
* Land disturbances along the East Coast will cause the disappearance of part of New York State and New York City. Part of the Carolinas and Georgia will also be lost
Cayce predicted that the safest lands will include Virginia Beach, part of Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. A significant part of the south and east parts of Canada will also survive.

There are numerous prophecies on Earth Changes occurring before or during the war. Notable are the visions of Edgar Cayce in this respect. It is predicted that the US coastline from Los Angeles to San Francisco would break up and sink into the sea following a huge earthquake, resulting in the death of millions. Several other areas all over the world would sink into the sea, including Japan and new lands would rise from the sea in many places. Edgar Cayce said that Atlantis, located near the Bimini Islands would rise from the sea. The weather would also change drastically in many areas of the world. We are already experiencing changes in the global weather pattern, the last decade being the warmest in the recorded history.

Conveniently for him though not for us, Cayce did not give any dates for these prophesies.
Can any of you recall quotes by other seers such as Nostradamus to this effect? In this day and age where you can find anything and everything both in the Bible and on the Internet, I wondered whether anyone had thought similarly, and was not disappointed.
It seems that John Le Sainte has actually been spoken to by the old guy:

Maybe due to their tenuous hold on their little island in the face of natural threats and enemies, the Japanese seem to have an appetite for apocalyptic material:
