What has most recently happened in Japan is incredibly tragic and I pray for the victims and families that have been torn apart. It is absolutely awful. I can't even imagine. My heart goes out to them exponentially...
Having visited Japan years ago I will always have a spot in my heart for the incredibly gentle people of the wonderful nation...
What I do not understand about this earthquake is the fact that 5.1 million homes were decimated but only 670 people have been confirmed dead? There didn't seem to be any warnings about the earthquake / tsunami. Did people just flee inland when the earthquake occurred? I fear I do not understand the geographical ramifications of the earthquake. Does anyone? The number feared dead (maximum 10,000) seems incredibly low compared to the earthquake in Turkey in 2004. I also heard someone talking about how military ships were fleeing north very quickly on the Wednesday before the earthquake.
Now, it's only been two days since this horrible event occurred and I understand they do not want to release results yet as it needs to be official. I also wish that no one would have had to perish in this awful event. I am just confused?
Am I wrong to suspect something suspicious when the death toll is only at 670? I had seen reports that entire cities of people were missing (70,000+ in one city).
I hope with all my heart that every last victim is found and rescued.
I am just posting this out of curiosity / suspicion. It just seems that there is a lot we do not know about this earthquake!
If someone could please enlighten I would thank you very much. I pray for the people of Japan throughout the day ...
Love to all...
