With all the things happening in Japan and all the wild stories that a cloud of radiation can reach the US i was wondering if there are any natural cures or treatments for radiation exposure or as a preventive measure for radiation exposure.
I have read some things about it but i don't know what to believe.
i think the potassium iodine pills are given to poeple who are exposed to radiation but this is not natural and i think is also not freely available.
Besides this it only seems to protect the thyroid.
On the natural cures front i have read about wheatgrass and miso that would work to get rid of radiation but i am not sure on how and why.
I do not know very much of this topic and any help or insight would be helpfull, maybe for many.
truth will win out

I am sure that I have read that Miso soup is meant to reduce cancers caused by radiation.
The Japonese soupe made from soya. This was discovered after the second world war following long term studies of people exposed to radiation.

Potassium iodine is freely available in the USA and many pharmacies carry it without perscription..It is absolutely harmless to the vast majority of people... may be difficult for people with hashimotos disease.. should not be taken long term with people on thyroid medicaiton as it may requrie you to reduce your medicaiton.. but up to 3 or 4 weeks should be ok.
In homeopathy there is the remedy uranium and x-ray that could be take to help your body, much like a vaccination, before the incident.. I do not know if it will work.. should be taken in 30c potency.
Elsewise better get a lead suit.
Japanes who eat traditional diets consume upwards of 12 mg of iodine a day...and this was helpful to them during WW2.. But you need to eat a lot especially if you are iodine deficient as most Americans are... it takes weeks to load up as many tissues in the body require potassium iodide or just plain elemental iodine. The thryroid likes potassium iodide the most... found in Lugols iodine and potassium iodide pills... NO OTHER FORM OF IODINE WILL WORK SUFFICIENTY.... and some sea food does have potassim iodide but you would do well to take a potassim supplement, 1mg a day if that is the course you choose.

Patassium Iodine SOLD OUT in Tahoe.! Just talked to Health Stores here at the Lake. Potassium Iodine is sold out. Here's the kicker. Called Reno Stores and was told no one carry's much inventory in the first place, because it is used to make METH!
Who knew? Not me.....
So now we have pills that once you have them, and you have more then you need, you have something to barter with. Or just give them a way? Hmmmmmm. Depends on how sick they are? kidding.. Bad joke.
I'll share if I get some.

My local health food store sold out yesterday. I bought a bunch on line yesterday but bought some kelp tablets at the local store. It'll hold me done before it hits here.

Anyone know a good website for the european people to buy potassium iodine?
It is not freely available in the Netherlands.
(preferably a website where i can pay with PayPal and not with a credit card cause i don't have one)

Krullenjongen - I listened to a Miriam Delicado talk on Youtube today and she mentioned miso soup with brown rice. The brown rice was chewed thoroughly until it was a paste before it was swallowed. Now, Miriam is not an expert and admits it, she is relating what she was told by others.
