View Full Version : Why do we search?

Day after day, night after night we gather here.
We know we want answers, we know we want meaning, we know we want a warning.

Why do we search?
Is an end not inevitable?

like the deer in the forest we sniff the air for danger.
We; i, need to break the habit of searching and live life instead.

I think of wildlife often. Does a bee search? Does it care about planet X or worry about hornets invading the nest?
Would a bee worry if it had the intelligence to know about planet X?

Maybe that is the question!
We were given intelligence, is it a curse or have we just not mastered it?

Was it meant for other things maybe? Reason, was reason meant to control our lives in this way?

I long to be free of reason and live in the heart. Would life be better living from the heart? Would we search or sense and slap the water with out tail and carry on?

Hmm, just brainstorming. I was watching a film but i came here to search instead.

We come to gather here together on our solo journeys.
The journey to wisdom.

I say, many seek and do not know what they search for; and when they finally have 'it', they do not know what to do with 'it'. Some ponder in thought while others reject and many dismiss for they do not understand. Even when it is given, they know it not.

When the deer is in the forest, it knows things are what they are and bothers not with nonsense; such as self-pity or self-worth. It knows it is and lives each moment as it unfolds; surviving, thinking, feeling and being.

Is it not human arrogance, which has paved the way to how things are now!? Is it intellect or is it what the human species seeks that has been the burden and the curse!? Is not reason the inner voice of rational thought, as the bread and water of the meal; while emotion being the human experience as the honey and apple which follows!?

I say, the deception created by the few (and those 'others'), who seek more and more to feed their eternal hunger has consumed all things. Until the madness is stopped, all will continue to seek - with only the few having something.

Thank you for your replies.
Maybe we know through some innate wisdom that life can be a treacherous path so we keep our ears pricked.

Maybe searching is the minds way of feeling.

I conserve this body so i may experience life because life is precious.
Love is precious,
fear is precious and everything in between is precious.

Maybe searching is innate,
part of the cycle that drives us forward. It keeps us aware, present.

Good question bilko

We search because we have this undeniable need, an inner knowing that change is on the way we all feel it , the need to seek out other people that have this inner knowing is like a magnet that draws us all together on forums such as Avalon and others like it.

We come together, search together, lean on each other for support and guidance this is so vital as it helps remind us why we are here, what part we are to play in the coming times of change and transformation whatever that turns out to be but make no mistake we ALL here searching, do have a part to play and what a privilege that is

Exactly Goldmother! We are drawn together here because we are all on the same path of discovery and awareness. We need this contact with other awakening souls asking the same questions. Its intoxicating, beautiful, like a dance!

Hi Bilko,

I can't really speak for everyone else on the forum, but I seek to try and either keep one step ahead in the game, or to prepare myself for what might be coming around the corner. I really don't think as some others have suggested that anybody will discover great wisdom in the forum, nor any answer that will solve their search for eternal light. Here, in my mind, is merely a place for passing ideas around and seeing other peoples' take.

I also am an avid reader of Rense, Max Keiser and Prison Planet but don't rely on any one of them exclusively for information. I also listen to Peter Schiff, Gerald Celente and Marc Faber. If they come out with anything interesting, it's also good to get other peoples' point of view.

As for 'love and light' I'm pretty much staid in my ways so my path has already been chosen. That path, of course is pretty much a private road held between myself and the people who are on the same journey.

Best regards,

Steve

I think it is in our Nature, in Man's nature to search, to think, to seek out answers, its what makes us Human and separates us (sometimes to our detriment) from the Animals.

IMHO one of the reasons we seem to forever be trying to catch a glimpse over the horizon to see what doom awaits us is because we have been destroyed so many times in the past. Its in our D.N.A, our collective consciousness. You are right, you should live life to the full, thats what this game is all about.

The main reason i think we gather at Avalon is because there are so few of us out there in 'the real World' so few people 'awake' and it is in Human nature to gather with like minds.

*It could be I've not thought this post through very well as its early here in the UK and i have only just risen from my pit * :)

I search because of the polarities on the same scale I experience in life. On the one hand I inherently know that this beauty around me is no haphazard accident. Whilst on the other hand I view the universes (micro and macro) as a highly impersonal self devouring beast. One part dies so another can live and so shall it be.

Reconciling those two opposing (yet both true!) points of view requires me (by inherent need to remember) to be involved in the mystery. I also don't like leaving things to chance, so I aim to prepare.

Here are some quotes I found appropriate:

“The great mystery is not that we should have been thrown down here at random between the profusion of matter and that of the stars; it is that from our very prison we should draw, from our own selves, images powerful enough to deny our nothingness”

Andre Malreux, French Historian.

“A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other”

Charles Dickens, English Novelist.

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.”

Albert Einstein, German born American physicist.

I guess the question of WHAT we search should be more important. Maybe the ones not knowing WHY they search are also the ones not yet knowing WHAT they search. But don't worry, the WHY will eventually reveal the WHAT as long as you stay currious to the WHY.

Great point. Oscar Wilde felt the same:

“The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.”

This^ little gem is more profound than it first reads.......

I look at my children when they were little, and I think they had all the answers and reasons. But then, they'll grow, and they'll start to look for something, just as we do. Maybe we should take a look back from time to time? Children have taught me more than anything else in life, and I feel I know nothing of importance. So, I've plenty of work still to do ;-)

Great thread Bilko, thanks!

Peace

Pickle

"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho is a great book about a search for a treasure.
