Mexico confirms presence of U.S. drones

Mexico City (CNN) -- Mexico on Wednesday admitted that American unmanned drones operate over its territory, but denied that it constitutes a violation of its sovereignty.

Well, down here in Mexico, the so called "war on drugs" vigurously re-launched by our current president back in 2006, it's been our own 9/11, Felipe Calderon won the presidential election by a narrow margin of 0.57% over the leftist candidate, Calderón was the right wing candidate favoured by the USA. The left considers the election a fraud, and an important sector of the left has not yet recognized Calderon as a legitimate president. Sounds familiar? remember George Bush in 2000?

To "legitimate" his presidency, he re-launched the "war on drugs" just days after taking office, dressed with a full military uniform before a military audience, he declared "war" to the drug cartels, we think that he considered Bush a good example with his war on terrorism.

Mexico was in peace, with many problems, but in peace back in 2006, I am not necessarly blaming Calderon, but since his absurd "declaration of war" to drug cartels (drug cartels are not a nation to declare war to according to the constitution), violence has become a daily matter for all mexicans, due to such war, we have become a police state, the mexican military is patroling the cities as policeman, they can stop and search you anywhere on the street, the highways, etc.

I respect the mexican miltary, they are the only ones doing something since the police is complitely corrupted by the cartels, but any way, their operation as a police force is unconstitutional and we have suffered the obvious collateral damage of such actions.

Now even the US is patrolling drones over mexican territory, "to seek for drug traffickers" hehe!! Instead of start looking for them on the CIA.

This was a classic problem-reaction-solution for Mexico, and the sad thing is that just a very few people understand this, either in Mexico, the US or anywhere (not the Avalon Forum of course :) )

Very insightful to hear your description of what has been going on in Mexico.

If drugs were legalized and then taxed it would help balance the budget of cities and states as well as go a long way to bring peace back to Mexico.

Of course, it will never happen as that would being taking some black op money away (as you imply).

They are starting to use the small ones in some police dept but I have not heard of the military drones here yet.

Would not surprise me though.

As I feel the situation here, drugs should definitely be legalized, that will make them a health problem instead of a public safety issue, but of course that will make them cheaper, and not a profitable business for the powers that be.

And speaking of the devil, Hillary Clinton was around here last month, Denisse Maerker, a top mexican jounalist on MSM, directly asked Hillary about legalization, apparently Madam Secretary was not processing very well that morning, maybe due to montezuma's revenge, she answered that "there is just too much money on it to be legalized" :eek: !!!! woops!!! maybe her inner thoughts betrayed her.

Yep ... surveilance abounds in a myriad of fashions.

I question whether or not their is (yet) the military variety that launches missiles in **** (insert your favorite nwo theatre here) roaming around the usa skies.
