I've often wondered why the "style" of UFOs' physicality has evolved in absolute coordination with the times here on earth?

For example, a photo of a UFO seen in the 1940s looks like it was designed with the then-current trends and styles in popular design of the 1940s. The same goes for a photo of a UFO from, say, 2010. It is as if it had to be designed by a human, on earth, living through the perpetual evolution of style on earth (time-oriented).

It is hard for me to word this for some reason ... but maybe this is due to the fact that our perceptions are simply a manifestation of an energy unknown to us? An invisible energy? This, combined with human-designed "UFOs" thrown into the mix would make sense.

So, why is this?

It's a good point you raised. The best explanation seems to be that, as you say, whoever pilots these craft is able to change their external appearance in accordance with our expectations.

In 1897 they UFOs resembled airships. If you haven't read Jacques Vallee's Passport to Magonia, you should find it interesting. There are copies on the Web.

It is most interesting to note how the alien technology seen by abducties (etc) almost always parallels that which is cutting-edge human technology or sci-fi at the time. These days people speak of all sort of 3D holographic displays and such, whereas a few decades ago the control panels of these galaxy-crossing vehicles were populated by levers and analog gauges... It could be these people are just making it up, but perhaps its the alien's attempt at making their "victims" feel more at home--like putting a dried-up leaf in the jar with the bugs you collected.

"Victims", hmm? UFOs are also associated with abductions...

Could you provide examples? I'm fairly sure that if one is honest, there has been as wide a variety of shapes reported historically as continues today.

I interviewed an elderly gentleman who saw a ufo in the mid to late 30s as he was walking home with his brother and friends. I asked him to describe the craft. He saw rivets and windows. I asked him what he thought it was back then. He said he was about 15 and thought it was something like Buck Rogers. Our brain is trained to try to make sense of the strange things we see, to bring it back down to the "possible and plausible".
