It seems that an unknown object today stopped the airtraffic at Oslos (Norway) airport Gardemoen.
Heres the only info I have on it, perhaps you can use googletranslate or somthing, since it from a swedish newspaper (dn.se is a very mainstreamsource, no sorcha faal here):

They say that its a hangglider, but on the other hand noone has confirmed this, why could they not see on the radar then? A hangglider at 2400 meters, sounds weird.
Any norwegians who canfill in the details? It wouldn´t be the first case of a UFO that hinders airtraffic over an airport.

Not sure if this thread is in the right section, or has been posted elsewhere. Mods feel free to move it.

That’s correct.

For safety reasons regarding the air traffic the airport were closed for 1.5 hour . . .

They assumed it was a micro plane, and waited 1 + hours even after the object disappeared for the estimated fuel carried by these micro planes to run out.

It’s also stated that aircrafts went airborne to identify the object but with no luck; the object was probably gone by then.
The police contacted all local “aircraft clubs” to find out if any of their members was airborne at that time, and no one was.

They also say that no one has any idea regarding the identity of this object, and that it is worrying etc.

In other words a UFO . . .

Edit: this post should probably be in the “ufology” main section?

Somthing like a handglider but they are not sure..

(AP) A hang glider or something like it strayed into the approach area of Heathrow. It led to the incoming traffic was closed a half hour.

AP follows
Aviation
- It was an airliner that discovered the hang glider-like case, "said information chief Jo Kobro at Oslo Airport Gardermoen.

The tower has not had contact with the flying object, which first should have been discovered until after at 16 According to Oslo, Copenhagen Air Traffic overview has 28 aircraft either land or delay between the hours of 16.00 and 17.30. This means that a large part of air traffic in the whole country is affected.

- The worst possible time

Vice President Knut Morten Johansen of SAS is one of thousands of passengers who are affected by the chaos at the airport. Actually he was on his way home to Trondheim. Rather than sitting still in Oslo.

- I stand and look beyond the runway here now. It's a pretty surreal sight. Thursday afternoon is the busiest day of the week, so this happened at the worst possible time, "Johansen told VG Nett.

SAS has sent eight flights to other destinations. Some of southern Norway, others to airports in Sweden.

- It will create major problems for many passengers, at risk of land in a completely different place than they would lose their connections or experience further delays, "Johansen said.

- We try to find out what this is. No other aircraft have seen something. Now we use every opportunity to find out if there is still something there. We do this through observations from the traffic in the air, "said Kobro to the AP when traffic stood still.

Flights were diverted to other airports, but both Torp and Rygge it quickly became full.

Costly flight

And the more aircraft that were diverted or delayed, the more money gliders cost-blistering airlines.

- Everything costs money: Extra fuel, handling of aircraft at other airports, overtime for the crews - and then we of course get passengers to their place. There is talk about millions, "said Johansen.

Fly has largely able to take off from the airport, but in a period, it has been closed.

- We do not know how long it will be closed to traffic innflygende, but there is a limit to how long an aircraft can be in the air, "said Kobro.

17.30 AP get message that slowly begins to open the airport, but it will propagate throughout the evening.

- Right now it seems that some departures are up to three hours late, "Johansen told VG Nett at 17.30 pm.

- Is there now a glider pilot who should be nervous to fight bill?

- It's not where we are focused right now. We do everything we can to handle the situation the best possible passenger's part, "Johansen said.

NRK (Norwegian Radio Broadcasting) text TV says that the object was “hanglider shaped” at an altitude of 8000 feet.
That’s a pretty high altitude for a hanglider ore a micro plane.
