Keeping us dumb for a purpose? I thought it was funny that 2 different people people marked Australia as France and Iran when the interviewer had a map with different names on it. I didn't know if I should have laughed or cried lol

One thing one has to consider is the psychological effect that this kind of street survey approach has.
In the street, with a camera, and a mic in their faces, people could feel that they've been put on the spot, and could well be dealing with mental blocks. But being generally easy-going they decide to go along anyway.
Later on all the correct answers get edited out.
I have met some well-educated Americans, by the way. I find most of them weak on geography.

Whats two plus two? Jello. and I thought I was a little dense. They will make great cops, TSA agents and solders to keep the rest in line on this slave ship. I dont know how it is that we are suposed to help some of these people. Did I really agree to do this? Sometimes I wonder if I read the fine print, jeez. Oh well I guess its gonna be one heck of a ride anyway.

Living in America, I can assure you that Americans are terribly weak on geography. This used to be taught in school when I was a child, but no longer seems to make up any meaningful part of the curriculum. I find it almost incredible that many (perhaps most) people here cannot find Iran, North Korea or even Israel on a world map, when these countries are continuously in the news.

A couple of things.
This video doesn't really mean anything. It does not show what percentage of people actually knew the answers to the questions. It just edits the stupidest answers to effect. You can find ignorant people in any country and make a similar video. You might have to try harder in some than others, though.
I used to have tremendous disdain for Americans. I try now to have compassion for them. Americans are subjected to intense programming from early age and are subjected to daily mind control both overt and covert and through means mundane and exotic. I don't know what efforts exist in other countries, but I try to remind myself that Americans are subjected to this intense and pervasive control system. Even the American media tells Americans that they are stupid in subtle and not so subtle ways.
Americans are the same humans that exist elsewhere on the planet. They are not a sub-race. They are no more or less inherently stupid than anyone else. We have a short but strong history of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and creative thinking. I look forward to the day when we are known for these things once again and no longer for our nation's attempts at imperialism, subjugation, and domination.
I did get a good laugh out of the response "all of them" in the video.

Sad commentary isn't it.
The reason Americans are so weak in geography is that it is no longer taught in the schools. Geography classes no longer exist. The only reason folks even own a globe anymore is if it is a part of their decor. You know trying to go for that old world, leather chair, dark wood paneling look.
I was a flight attendant for several years and the stereotype of the ugly american is a sad truth. I can't even tell you how many times I was working overseas and was even embarrassed by my fellow flight attendants (who you would think would be more aware and travel savvy). Talk about ignorance, stupidity and a lack of regard for others.
However, to defend my fellow americans this is my observation of the public in general. The culture of it's all about me me me is rampant.

Oh! Pleaaaase! Mental block!!!!
I have been asked countless times by Americans where was Canada! Forget Montreal!
International geography has been taken off the curriculum in Florida! History about anything outside America itself is about inexistent, they just don't learn about the rest of the world
Sorry if I hit hard a little, yes there is some well educated Americans, but often still ill informed on the world.

That's a very funny vid, no doubt but seriously, how many people did they interview to get the dumb ones? And, if they did the same here in Ireland, or any other country in the world they could come up with the same results.
I'm off to google "a country begining with U", that one stumped me. (joke)

If you spend enough time, in any country, you will be able to get similar results.
I suspect that if someone would spend some time asking me (or anybody else) questions and keeping only my dumb answers I would make for a pretty funny video myself :)
So I agree with all above who have said that without a percentage this clip it's just funny and it does not mean anything :). The title is a bit unfair in this case.

makes me think how many poor souls do not choose the terrific decisions taken by those who are supposed to be their representatives.
Does TPTB care about the education of the people as they care about expanding, making war and taking over other people's oil and resources.
Some people choose not to have an education, neither do they want to have an objective in life. They deserve however to be treated like human beings, to know the least about the acts undertaken by their governments.
Have they been asked whether they wanted their country to go into war or not ? if not what a democracy !
might be for that most can't find the name of it.

I agree with most of your comments. How sad that such intense propagantic brainwashing of all kind goes on with American. How sad that instead of implementing a strong school curriculum, they have dumb down the curriculum.
My take: When the people does not know where they stand in the world, geographically or historically, they cannot take proper decisions and they cannot judge the actions of their government. You therefore ensure - if you are PTB - more compliant individuals with the existing system. Otherwise, American people could have made the world better for all.

This thread is pathetic.
As Brits go gaga over a wedding within the elite reptilian bloodlines, the EU economically rocks as its liberty is usruped by the NWO in Brussels.
The economy crashes around them... makes me wonder how educated they are and how awake and aware thoughout much of Europe.
The idiocy and lack of education on this planet is in every nation...
and is really a reflection of TPTB and who and how many they decide should be educated.
that someone pickes on America is just another blinder in their own delusions.
The United States has been the economic steam roller of the planet for a very long time...
mostly due to ingenuity
and is only declining due to WTO and NWO power.
In another direction, the generosity of the American people far excels
any lack they may have in geography. They don't care where the country is.
If it needs something the money comes out of the pocket and finds its where there
through private charity and organizations.
Do not get arrogant and condescending.
We are all in deep Sh^t and no matter what nation you may reside, you are in the same mess,
and take me to any street in any nation and I will find bone heads equal to what is on this film.

It is important to distinguish between ignorant and dumb. IMO people are ignorant mostly and that is by design. Is it people's fault that they have been "dumbed down" systematically for many, many years? On some level maybe, but most of the responsibility for that lies on those who did so deliberately and slowly over time. Ignorance is correctable by education.......dumbness, well, is not so easily fixed. The American people I believe voted for Barak Obama not out of dumbness but mostly out of ignorance. AND the hope that positive change would just happen and the Bush nightmare would be over forever. I am sure they are not happy about what has happened.........and how their "dumb" hopes have been abused. It remains to be seen what will happen. Also, it is true that the American people ARE very generous and having believed what they were told about the country (the big helper of others, etc.) almost reflexively contribute to all causes and volunteer for many causes - to the extent that they can with most adults in families working more than one job right now to pay the bills.

This thread is full of idiots, from the idiot who posted this video to Arrowwind who for some reason seems to think this is a British video, despite the fact that the guy presenting the thing has an Australian accent.
To Daledo: seriously, when you posted this video what result were you hoping for? Whether or not you intended to cause division and pointless mudslinging it's exactly what's happened.
And to the rest of you, all of you who expect, for some reason, that a video designed to propagate an appearance of stupidity would be fair, measured or unbiased in its approach — is this all it takes to get you falling back into the tribal "us-vs-them" mindset that not only do "they" use to get us at each other's necks, but without which wars wouldn't be possible?
That video was part of a group of videos that popped up on the internet a while ago, and they seemed intended for nothing but to cause discord on the most petty level, and most of us here don't want that puerile tit-for-tat going on here at Avalon. This thread should be closed before the petulant in-fighting spreads.

Just a note to all with the first Video.
That is from Chaser's war on Everything.
I use them as examples of pointing out just how stupid things are, like the op did in the above video :) but! please note. They dont just walk up to random people in the street and ask 10 qestions and film the answers to show and tell :P They'll go thru maybe 50 people for that one skit. Some are natural responces, others are.... given a one time acting oportunity and paid cash in hand once off for their services.
I am sure that if you were to go take a map of another country in you're own and ask the same questions you'll get equal number of uneducated idiots.
I try to avoid using the Chaser's skits on americans because of this. And try to keep it to pure examples of how, something is stupid. IE Airport Security in comparison to the "Best thing about America". You will notice quickly the chasers will not miss a chance to take the piss out of americans.

Edit again for Seikou-Kishi.
They are the Chasers war on Everything. They were a TV show here in Australia that went on for 4 seasons before they were shut down. Their main focus is Political Satyre.
I believe they can do an absolutely, brilliant job at opening people's eyes to just how screwd up polotics are - by them taking the piss out of it. I hope that people realise when they make these jokes - they realy are not far off the mark with how screwd up things are and they ask themselves the question - why should they allow it?
I do believe in some cases - they went too far. IE the skit that got them shut down. But it raised the question with me - were they allowed/encouraged to do the skit knowing it would shut them down purely to get the heat off of Australia's PM's?
You have no idea on how much they make them a laughing stock by taking their own words and repeating it to the public with comments.
IE.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAjIsfNCrzg
I expect that some people may get offended by their political skits because, well. the truth hurts? or they dont like/want to hear/admit it.

To separate from 'state'; for people to be accountable for their lives, meaning not to be dependant on others (the 'state'); slow down in life and take the time, meaning change of lifestyle; turn the TV off; not vote; not be afraid to turn the flag upside down, this has a meaning; participate more with each other... or do nothing and be debt slaves 8 to 14 hours a day, seven days a week... for life.

Hahaha The Chasers were good for the first couple of seasons then they got less so, mainly after the big security breach stunt, which i thought was just awesome. I Guess they made them turn it down a notch.
Only one person in those whole lot of people only seemed they had any idea about our world and he was still a little off.
I'll have to disagree with the comment about putting people on the spot and that most will be like that in other parts of the world. For example : Australia, Our level of education and general knowledge is far better than the our media and politicians let on here.
Most of our population would notice that the names on the map are wrong just by the simple fact that we are a very multicultural nation.
Also the historical war questions would be more so answered correct because our schooling system and national pride (Anzac day is a very big day here and all old and young know about it even if they don't speak English). So basically 3 simple reasons why you would not get that sort of reply here in Australia would be Multiculturalism, Level of Education and National Pride/Patriotism.
Does anyone else from other countries believe they wouldn't get that sort of reply ?
Is this one of those things that gets shoved under the cliched quote of "Only in America"?
I would like to hear some of the reasons why as well.

This thread is full of idiots, from the idiot who posted this video to ...
Please no name calling. The thread was started to point out that the USA ranks low compared to other industrialized countries. We also rank 40 something in the mortality rate. We are beefed up in the news as this great country when in fact there are many other countries ahead of us in education and health. I was pointing out that people need to be aware of these facts so that there can be improvements made. If more people see this they might spend a little more time studying instead of playing video games and watching "Jersey Shore" and "16 and Pregnant".
Here is a video showing how much people understand the value of gold verses the dollar.

People are really lacking in education... because this is one of the main tools that TPTB uses to control the masses. I can't speak for any other country, but here in the USA all text books are written to instill what TPTB want us to know. They hide our true history and technological advances in free energy concepts and applications. Teachers cannot teach anymore they are dictated to what is in the curriculum. TPTB do not want people thinking... that is very dangerous because they will realize that they have free will and the ability to use their minds to make changes in the way that our reality is dictated to us.

There's a serious point here. Of course, it's not about Americans.
But it is about education - and we can't just blame the school system (of any country): it's about people's willingness and interest in educating themselves.

YES AND Also NO!!!
Hang on a moment,
they never ask them if they are FROM America.
It's not fair to assume they are all americans simply because they live here.
HOWEVER, these particular people are DEPRESSINGLY dumb, local or not. :'(
To be fair, one must take into account the Toxins and programming that the american people are subjected to.
The physical and mental poisoning of its people is almost a sacred art to the American government and it's media bodies.
I believe we have way more vaccine regulations, water floridation, gmo foods, and prescription drugs than all (or maybe just most) other countries.
Our country is certainly the most media/material driven (which I'm proud to say i don't watch tv, nor do i surround myself with masses of electronic junk.)
Also, our educational systems are highly lacking (on purpose of course)
While they get increasingly expensive each year, the quality of the lessons..lessens...
Our history classes are riddled with lies and focuses mostly on "american history" our geography classes are intentionally exclusive as they don't want american people to know that there are other people out there in the world that matter.
(helps to keep the majority of unaware americans in a selfish redneck mindset)
Suffice to say, not ALL of us in America are like that. The ones of us who can answer those questions correctly are probably believed to be Anarchists/conspiracy theorists
That's preferable to the "patriotic" mentality in my book.
Consider this,
If you took a baby, and raised them to think that blue was the color green, as an adult they would say the sky is green. If you take a child and tell him the man in the white turban is a bad man, they will grow to think that the man in the white turban is the enemy.
Schools are certainly responsible, as is TV, but the sole individuals MOST responsible for the child's education are you THE PARENTS.
If you have a child in public school,
If you let them watch lots of tv,
or shower them with the latest expensive gadgets,
PLEASE EDUCATE THEM on the truth while they're still succeptable to learning. This world is full of ignorant adults, and the children are always the future. Whole life times yet to be experienced, it doesn't have to stay this way.
i do not have children, i have younger siblings, nieces, and nephews, but i wish for a better world for all children, and adults, not just the ones i know.
If we equipt the children with the right tools and the right knowlege early on,
perhaps they will be better able to fight in ways we were not prepared for.
The elites/annunukis/33/masonic/ptb whatever you prefer to call them, have been training their children to succeed them for MANY generations, and paying schools to teach ours to keep thier heads down and follow. This is how they keep control.
We are in a world that has been so engineered as to make it impossible for 1 individual to take the lead anymore. ( not without being assasinated
Only the MANY can save us now, and they must be prepared, fearless and strong(mentally, spiritually, physically)

There are two perplexing questions that I have pondered in my 54 years ,the first being ,if you talk to the average person on the street they seem to be quite intelligent but when you get a large group of people the average IQ seems to drop off in proportion to the size of the gathering.
So yes I`m affraid the people are that dumb giving certain paramaters.
And the other one is ,when you come to an overtaking lane on the road why dose the one holding up the traffic increase speed so no one can get past and then slow down again to piss every one off.
Two of the most perplexing questions, there ever was:confused:
Have a great day

Part, and only part of the problem is found with education:
Norman Dodd [quote]:
"...to prevent a reversion, we must control education in the United States..."
"...that portion of education which could be considered domestic should be handled by the Rockefeller Foundation, and that portion which is international should be handled by the Endowment."
"...these two operations lay in the alteration of the teaching of American History."

The problem, as I see it, is not lack of intelligence. Most people have adequate intelligence. The problem is fear of and resistance to change.
People crave a stable status quo. They are naturally conservative. They want reliable explanations. They want an understandable and predictable world. Change is a threat.
This is why many people have a knee-jerk reaction to 'conspiracy theories.' Conspiracy theories upset their stable, understandable world. If the US government was actually involved in the planning and execution of 9/11, that changes everything. Conventional reality is a lie.
So people deny and refuse to look at the facts. A comfortable fiction is preferable to disturbing truth.
It makes us easy targets. The Elite are laughing at us even as we speak.

Wow. Well I can honestly say it is very difficult to wake up here in America, the programming is harsh and unrelenting at an early age with mass chemicals and vaccines. The lack of proper education in the public school system only fuels that fire.
I'm certain that you can find this level of ignorance just about everywhere, but I can only speak about what I see here. What I see here in my country truly saddens and depresses me. The lack of empathy in the general public, it's painful to behold.
I feel myself sort of slipping away, detaching. All I can seem to focus on now is my immediate family (children) and a very few close friends. I've even closed my facebook account as all I see on there is useless prattle. Anytime I would bring up anything thought provoking, or outside of mainstream humor, it was just ignored. Sigh... its hard to be here sometimes, downright painful actually.

The system hasn't been interested in producing well educated americans for 40 years. Just before that they tried to educate and endoctrinate.. now it is all endoctrination .. Tell me how a system that once you get through it at 18.. IF you still scored all A's .. YOu then have to take on 100-200k in debt to get marketable skills. That tells me the system is designed to fail.
You all who are anti tpb play their game and toe their line. when you look at americans and go ..hahah look how dumb they are. This is the way tpb want it .. But then look at many of the educated elites berac obama during the campeign said he was so busy he had visited all 57 state. ..Nancy pelosie said that if the stimulis wasn't passed 500 million americans would be out of work.. and a bunch of other stupid stuff that comes out of the elite.
so again stop people on the street and ask them 20 questios about 10-20 different subject .. then only show the wrong answer.. do that in any country and you can make them look stupid .

I think the name of this thread should be something like "are people really this misinformed?" or "..this dumbed down?" This is so obviously intentional.
Many of the above posts state the reasons for this outcome,
ie: fluoridation of most state's water supplies, complete bastardization of our education system, vaccination, gmos, tv etc, etc.
I took a look at the visitor map of this site.
Using 2009 population calculations, it looks like about 50% less American to UK visitors on this site when calculated to each countries overall population. I know this isn't the most accurate measure, and someone more math savvy than I can let me know if the math is correct.
What I am taking from that info is; Americans are waking up despite the incredible amount of time and effort put into keeping us asleep.
From my personal experience this may be a case of because of, rather than despite.
Let me explain what I mean by that.
I grew up in a Portugues, Italian household.
Higher education was frowned on. My father was a tough, thick headed man. :)
College degrees were for the rich and if you wanted that it was almost like a slap in the face to the poor working class that we came from.
I am one of ten children and only one of us went to college while still at our family home.
In contrast my adult life has been spent around highly educated people.
I was married to a person with a PHD for 11 years.
Most of the people in my social circles have several letters after their names.
Most of them could name any country on any map you show them and they can answer any question, among them, that you may pose.
I talk to my family members and friends about what is really going on in the world.
Which group do you think gets it?

Thank you again, Manny for your insight and wisdom!!!
Thank you Jake, I so agree with you. Each person has his own unique fund of knowledge. For some people, finding things on a map is simply useless information. I would bet that some of those "dumb" people would be able to spot a street swindle long before a geography teacher could.

I have seen this video before. It's obvious what the propaganda artists...excuse me 'reporters' are up to. It's the basic divide and rule tactic. Wedge a biased opinion between cultures without fairly covering other angles. From there, people do the rest. Americans may feel insulted by such a sweeping statement which unjustly portrays them as a collective of idiot savants, and people of other countries may resent them for being defensive. The fact is, national lines and boarders are merely a concept and an ideological illusion. By making 'news reports' on subjects like this, seeds are planted to perpetuate this concept. In actuality, we're all citizens of Earth. Each area of the planet has it's intellectual and less intellectual aspects.
Yes there are ignorant Americans, but a hand full of individuals interviewed in a limited area of the country does not reflect the entire population. There are ignorant people the world over. Had that not been the case, the majority of humanity wouldn't be under the umbrella of the ruling elite bloodlines. From my personal perspective, this type of material is but one of their methods and tools used to keep the herds in control.

No Connie, my comments were not directed to you at all. Your post was well thought out and beautifully expressed. Your points are extremely valid and people should listen.
Unfortunately, in trying to spare the feeling of the poster I had attempted to jab, I created that confusion by not being clear enough. That poster was harshly criticizing the intelligence of Americans and deserved being called out, in my opinion. That ended up being done much better by Dennis Jonathan.
In this case it wasn't the grammatical error itself, but the placement of the error in a paragraph full of judgment. It was that dichotomy that got the mention, not the simple error. I'm sorry Connie if I caused you any discomfort by not identifying the exact post. We all make plenty of errors that way and I'm no different. But posters who are calling anybody else dumb had better prove that they can at least get subject and verb to agree.

I live in the US, and I think this video is pretty telling. I am sitting here with the TV tuned to CNN national news, Japan has just had a 6.5 earthquake and is now under a Tsunami watch, and although the news from Japan got at least a one-two minute segment, it was quickly switched off and now we're back to all of the useless fluff, like cool smartphone apps, or the latest on Charlie Sheen's rant, and that probably represents at least 60-70% of our daily 'news' programming.
I keep 5 network news channels up on the TV screen, switching between channels to try and catch any information on the status of Japan's nuclear reactors, but there is little or no new reporting going on. What about radiation? Who is this going to affect, how much radiation is escaping.... not important, they don't want to alarm us here in the states, such BS!
The news media in the states is in the business of entertainment, increasing market shares, and 'filtering/censoring' disturbing information away from the general public. Sites such as this one and other alternative news sites are the only places my wife and I can go to get some real news on the status of the world's events. Even when it comes to the upheaval in the middle east.
Sadly, Americans have become too addicted to the world of entertainment and sports, and they have become lazy, putting too much trust in the news media to provide them the information they need to properly understand what is going on in the world.
There are a lot of sleeping people in this country, there are a lot of people, just like the ones in this video, whose education and government have failed them. I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry when I watched this, because to some degree, it represents the truth on how our corporation-based government has been so successful in accomplishing the dumbing down of America's citizens.
Sad!!!

There was one question in the video that was answered correctly ... comes near the end of the video, e.g. a question about Al CIAda. The interviewer - in trying to ridicule the old man who answered the question correctly - appears to be a tad indoctrinated, himself. I'll refrain from making the boorish equation of indoctrinated with dumb, for that is a colloquial equation whose time has passed. IMHO, the relevant equation today is people with sheeple ... and precisely because sheeple is a category that excludes no one, e.g. runs the brand gamut from the dumbest, dumber, and dumb to the smart, smarter, and smartest.

Although I'm not sure if Al Qaeda originated with the Skull and Crossbones crowd, they certainly ran with the idea and profited wildly from it. To most Americans the Skull and Crossbones version is the real deal. At least the Fox News version, real or imaginary, would qualify as being Masonic, as far as I understand the reaches of the Masonic Temples as they are today. It was that version of AQ that sold the Iraq war. It also took many eyes off of Cheney and Rove and gave them a way to avoid scrutiny.

What I understand here is that people from every country like to make fun of those from other countries and some people are more willing to make fun of themselves than others. To do this, they will usually pick a trait that seems characteristic of the country made fun of and enhance it dramatically. The fun stop when insults of hard core beliefs start to replace humour. With this in mind, my second videos on foreigners questions about Canada is a jewel of humour, as long as Swedes and American are not hurt from the questions supposedly from them.
Talking about one's nationality is always a touchy topic, we cannot know if our humour hurts someone else, sense of humour being quite local in fact. To me it describes the state of brainwashing we all are in. Why can't we just be all human beings, with some flaws, that are sometimes shared by a whole group (call it country or otherwise) and some talents shared as well by the same group.
I have seen flaws of my own country with a magnifying glass when living abroad, and this was beneficial. God do we see ourselves when living some other values/beliefs. I can now share what I saw in a soft manner with my countrymen/women.
It is, however, absolutely astonishing how little awareness we have of one another, on a collective level (country to country), which I think is often also relfected on an individual level. And how much is done to keep it that way. "Ignorance is bliss" but not on a small planet like ours anymore!
And this is what I like of Avalon, a collection of open human beings from all over, carrying sometimes with them their national flaws and qualities, and their individual flaws and qualities.
This is what we, human, are about.

Well ... don't confuse a thick branch with a thin twig. ;) There are half-truths in the BBC video. Still, the part about Al Qaeda being fake is true.
There are so many branches, how do I choose? So I grabbed a bunch of them, looked at what they had in common, and concluded that Al Qaeda was a deceptive fabrication. I still can't be sure exactly where the fabrication originated, but the CIA is heavily implicated, and the CIA is likely directed by the rich sociopaths controlling the central banks and the creation of our money, because that's where the real power lies. But of course. Indeed, we don't need to know whether the park bench is constructed from oak, spruce, teak, mahogany, redwood ... before we rest our weight upon it. The mere fact that it is a park bench (with full function and without all the intricate details of construction) ... is a sufficient and kindly piece of information for my weary legs.
To wit, as the mandrake and magician works the stage, it is sufficient to surround the stage - as well the droproom beneath the stage - so that the mandrake and magician doesn't have access to this-worldly means of escaping. There's not much we can do about other-worldly means of access, granted.

I am from Canada and I married an American. We live in the States. We both agree that the education system has decayed on both sides of the border since we were in school. We're both in our 50s and we got the heavy education, lots of homework and reports to write. We adopted kids from foster and I am stupefied by the school's curriculum, especially in high school. It is light. .
It's easier to manipulate uneducated people. Add to the mix mainstream media who don't report real news anymore, the distractions with smart phones or whatever new game console is coming up, social network with addicting games, and you get someone malleable because they can't perceive beyond the surface.

There’s a wealth of knowledge out there, but all of it will not be useful to everyone. With that said, much will be past by/ forgotten/ or even unlearned. However, each and every last one of us will still have something valuable to teach the whole. I guess it’s safe to say that the only thing we can truly master is the masking of our own individual stupidity. The vid should be an eye opener because it depicts our insensible inane ability to set standards…yet, another obstacle we must overcome, together.

That's why I also often don't understand the rage against authorities from americans and others. But sometimes I realize how bad it is, how blind the faith in the goverment and the police can be. And I can understand the seriousness in the matter.

I can only offer my own opinion about what is happening in the usa.
As for brainwashing and dumbing down I suggest you have a look at this thread at something Jordan Maxwell brought to light about 5 years ago:

As a transplant from the USA, IMHO the brainwashing has different subtle layers all over the world! It is an extreme example in the US but what about the various television programs, the Soccer hooligans and Pop Star contests that go on through out the world! It is a matter of perspective!

this tread is making my head e-x-p-l-o-d-e.
in the US, the combination of gov't/union operated schools,
poor parenting and totally disconnected pop culture populous
has produced OPRAH NATION.
if you google DUMB AMERICANS you'll find 20 millions hits.
it's a real problem that is to be solved by an out-of-whack, clueless people.
it's sad to watch as this parade passes by.
on of more uplifting note, the film ATLAS SHRUGGED is coming out.
go see it with someone and revel in the struggle for self reliance.

just to be fair [tho i admit, the ignorance of my fellow USAmericans, in my personal experience, is astounding] -- i'd like to see similar questions posed to people in the streets of other countries [& no cheating, like asking them at Oxford or other centers of learning & intelligence]

Man. I felt ashamed watching this video. I can't believe how uneducated the general American Public is. I know that our education system is not the greatest, but I alteast had sense enough to know the answers to those questions. Thanks Mom for keeping a Globe in our house and National Geographic magazines to read when I was a child. Self education is a must nowadays in the US! And folks really need to at least watch CNN or read articles on the internet to keep up on some current events. Sheesh!!

Very entertaining video ! I have american friends and they are like everybody else .
These people in the video ...well, one can find them everywhere in the world too.
.........besides, with so much information out there, so many books, Web, radio, newspapers, etc...people are only ignorant if they want to be !!!

President Bush must have been one of the source reason/cause in the world psyche for the explosion of these millions hits!! (Tell you the truth, Sarkozy of France would not be far away from Bush, just a bit more varnish on, imho, and Harper in Canada just shuts up more, but not much to it when we truly listening to him)
