At first they said that the radiation from Fukushima will never reach the USA. But it did.
Now, the news stations say that radiation was detected in the US, but levels are not harmful.
Our governments said the same thing about the Chernobyl disaster (search my other article on Avalon about this subject).

Plumes of Cesium 137, Iodine 131, and Xenon 133, have already reached the United States from March 23, 2011. Higher plumes, reaching 5000 meters (15,000 feet) are forecast to reach Portugal, Spain, and Central Europe:
