Beginning at around 1:07 - towards the middle (just left of the middle) something "SWIMS" from the middle of the crashing breakers, TOWARD the massive tsunami wave,
and at 1:12 it clearly re appears towards the right of the screen. This thing goes through the water, the under the water, then re appears, goes up on and over the huge tsunami wave and continues out of the picture. Very very weird.
Aside from that, its pretty unbelievable live footage of the tsunami hitting the coast of japan. heres the video, enjoy, and tell me what the ***** this thing is.:behindsofa:

Is it a shadow from a helicopter?

hm i guess its possible, but im not 100% sold on that. Watch it in full screen. Ive watched it about 20 times, and it really does not look like a copter to me. especially at 1:13. that just looks very weird to me. Could be a chopper, but, hey, high strangeness surrounds this event on so many levels already.

Yeh ~ it looks like a chopper from the shape i guess...but then from 1.14 - 1.17 when it leaves the screen , it has a black trail behind it..but that could be because of the pixels of the video
Not sure what it is...but i don't think that is a chopper...

To me it looks like a drop of something on the window of the aircraft that is pushed by the pressure of the air flow.
Peace.

From what I observed, it came out of the water, went across, disappeared then reappeared. How strange!

I'm wondering if it's not a bird - unfortunately we can't see the point of origin - I watched it a few times - I don't see it disappearing into or under the water, rather becoming almost impossible to see against the dark wave of water - if you look closely, you can see a trace across the water before it reappears against the white foam. And the trace it leaves through the white water looks like the bird (?) actually flies through the spray. I tried to download it to watch in slo-mo, but the download won't take.
Very low quality vid

It would be great if somebody thats savvy with the capabilities to analyze it closer, enlarge ,slow down etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a shadow from a helicopter?
That's my best guess as well: the shadow of a helicopter due to the ondulating motion first on the ground and then on the wave crest. To observe this, it's better to watch the video in its original size and speed. The screen shots below are from another source published in HD (sorry, didn't keep the URL, just the video).

Number 2 and 3 give the best silhouettes.

If it were a "swimmer," there isn't much of a white mustache that would accompany such a speed and then there is the problem of it being a ground crawler as well.

Personally I think it looks like a Dolphin, it cannot be a shadow because the image is very much forward of the shot, and there is a distinct
shape to the item, either a Dolphin or large Fish using its natural ability to swim through the wave.

I have this video on my camera and it's clearly a helicopter with no trail behind it. The video maker must of added the trail that makes it look like a black orb. I recorded it when it was first shown on Japan TV.
I saw this video on you tube and then I grabbed my camera and watched in slow motion and there is no trail. It's simply a helicopter. Paused zoomed and yes it's a helicopter. That swirling black trail has been added.
People who tamper with stuff to create stuff like this really annoys me. It kills the real events that might be genuine.

Hi Ski!
My think on the tail trail is that it's coming from the multiple copying, recompressing for uploads of the original video with the ensuing pixelation and loss of definition.
