Around 150 people have been injured in Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan after security forces opened fire on a group of demonstrators protesting against the two ruling parties.
Protesters gathered in Peeramard Street in the center of Sulaymanieh, located 260 kilometers (161 miles) north of Baghdad, on Monday and demanded political reforms, an end to official corruption, resignation of the regional government and an investigation into the fatal shootings of three protesters in February, AFP reported.
Clashes erupted between demonstrators and security forces during the protests with Kurdish Peshmerga and Asayesh forces surrounding the street and opening fire.
