I get hay fever from around June onward, so I really feel for you with such a long period to work through. I've tried many hay fever 'relief' meds, and only when things get unbearable, these are next to worthless though unless taken regularly, something I wouldn't want to do.

Personally I haven't tried it, but they say Honey has anti-allergenic properties. Honey-the-sweetest-cure-for-hayfever (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/5135837/Honey-the-sweetest-cure-for-hayfever.html)

There is also Immunotherapy, but it is long term work for little results (it seems from my investigation). Also why mess with the immune system which is already struggling with a false flag from pollen, seem iffy to me.

Homeopathy worked for me. I used to go through 2 handkerchiefs every morning, now i rarely get a sneeze

For optimal results, honey must come from the region where the user is from. Local pollen for local honey for local ailments, right?

Years ago, my husband suffered from hay fever. He cured it by sprinkling bee pollen on his porridge or cereal. Never had it since. I guess it would be homeopathic (like treating like).

Hay fever was not the reason I started this http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?4165-Cold-showers! but it did turn out to help me.

I cut dairy products from my diet about 7 years ago and have not had hayfever since. A few friends have tried it and it worked for them too.
You should notice the difference in about 10 days.
Have a look at notmilk.com too.

If your hay fever is active all year, it's most likely a case of diet/low immunity being the culprit. The exposure to pollen during hay fever season is likely making your symptoms worse because your immune system is already compromised.

Do you get enough vitamin C in you diet? Vitamin C stabilises mast cells (so reduces inflammation of the mucous membranes). If the symptoms are a runny nose and itchy eyes, boost your Vitamin C levels (with foods rich in Vitamin C or a take a supplement that contains bioflavonoids). Avoid processed orange juice.

If you suffer from a lot of sneezing, then a low immunity diet, too much sugar, in addition to pollen exposure is the cause.
Here you should aim at reducing dairy from your diet (as already mentioned by someone else). Too much dairy causes increased mucous production. Too much wheat (can also be a problem). Too much sugar in the diet is acid forming and lowers immunity.
Quercetin is a bioflavonoid. It is anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine, so it will help to drain and soothe the sinuses. It will boost your immunity.
Naturopathically Quercetin is probably the best thing to treat symptoms of hayfever.
Quercetin is found in things like citrus fruits, onions, garlic and dark berries like blueberries - (high quantities). .... in parsley as well.

Garlic contains allicin - helps to prevent any bacterial infection when the sinuses are full of mucous.
Horseradish contains sinigrin - helps to eliminate mucous.
Fenugreek seeds steeped in hot water and drunk as a tea can also help soothe the sinus tissues.

EFAs - essential fatty acids found in seeds, nuts and fish like salmon, mackeral, anchovies etc.
EFAs reduce inflammation. Long term these will help as a preventative.

Probiotics to help the digestive system. Very useful when a person has alllergies to wheat and dairy/compromised diet. Food allergies affect the digestive system --- a compromised digestive system means the uptake of essential vitamins etc. is not as good as it should be leading to lowered immunity, which is why the diet needs to be addressed.

Do you sleep with a doona?
Red wine and tomatoes can also be a problem for some people.
Stress can also lower the immune system and exacerbate your problem.

Local Honey!!!! Also it may not be pollen it could be a dust thing? Either way Ginger is really helpful. Eating it raw helps me the most but you could make a tea from it?
