A bill that mandates a sentence of up to life in prison for converting marijuana or marijuana oil into hashish is heading to Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin's (R) desk after being passed by the state Legislature on Monday.

House Bill 1798 makes the conviction of a first time offense of manufacturing hashish a felony with a prison mandatory minimum sentence of two years and a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Hashish is made by compressing and heating glandular hairs from marijuana plants known as "kief." Chemical solvents can also be used to extract the psychoactive components of the marijuana plant, resulting in hash oil.

Under a second offense, sentences would be doubled and those convicted would be unable to receive a suspended sentence or probation.

Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs spokesman Mark Woodward told The Associated Press that the bill is meant to "send a message" that illegal drugs won't be tolerated in the state.

The Oklahoma Senate approved the legislation in a 44 to 2 vote and the state House approved the legislation 75 to 18.

Under current Oklahoma law, being convicted of cultivating or selling marijuana can result in sentence of up to life in prison.

In February, 25-year-old Oklahoma mother of four was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a $31 marijuana sale.

Ask yourself how so much hard drugs gets into all the nations without too much effort?
Ask yourself how the alphabet agencies finance their black ops and wet ops?
I am not a drug user, I don't even take prescription drugs, but the effort of bashing the little guy whilst others bring in heroin by the ton irritates the crap out of me.
At least I am not constipated I suppose. :p

Welfare for the private prison industry. I don't agree with blanket legalization but this is ridiculous.

The US incarcerates more people than any other country on the planet by hundreds of thousands. Yet we like to think we believe in freedom. We have over 700,000 more people in prison than in China—a population 4-5 times that of the US. The US has been incarcerating people for drug use for over 130 years and has been “officially” fighting the "War on Drugs" for over 40 of those years. Yet we are no closer to solving the drug problem than we were 130 years ago. No private business would still be in business with that dismal of a record.

Approximately 500,000 drug felons are released from prison each year. Yet we ignore the minor detail that these now felons will have little hope of finding any type of gainful employment once released. Gee, I wonder what they will do to support themselves.

The cost to taxpayers for this “protection” from these dastardly drugs has run into hundreds of billions of dollars (if not trillions by now)—and that doesn’t even begin to take into consideration the cost in terms of the millions of families that have been destroyed and/or put on the public dole resulting from the incarceration of one or more family members. Yet drugs are as prevalent as ever and anyone wishing to get drugs has little or no problem finding them.

The only thing these laws do is continue to erode our rights and freedoms, endlessly expand the US “justice” system and police state, ensure that the “unfunded” black ops/covert military-industrial complex programs stay funded (i.e., keeps the MIC in firm control of the drug business), placate those who still foolishly believe the “War on Drugs” can be won by more laws, tougher sentences, and incarcerating more people.

At what point will the masses wake up and realize that we will never bring peace and harmony to the planet at the end of a gun or by locking up everyone with whom whose life-style we may disagree?

We've come a long way since Queen Victoria's time.

In 1890, personal physician to Queen Victoria referred to cannabis as “by far the most useful of drugs” in treating many “painful maladies.” http://www.medmj-wa.com/

Hemp used to be a government mandated crop - too many ubiquitous uses for making paper, fabric, medicines etc, I guess.

U.K. Law is still in a state of flux regarding Cannabis possession and classification.

Ho Hum.

I still do not get why they do not just tax it and sell it like cigorettes.

Would give them a hell of a better revenue from tax than they are getting from locking people up for growing/smoking/selling it.

Its honestly harmless stuff. You cant even overdose on it. Bring on change imo!

Because they make even more money by making it illegal, which drives up the price. Then they produce, distribute and sell it (and lock up or "suicide" any competition.) The major poppy plant growing areas have long been wherever the British, now American military has control in various southern and south eastern Asia areas, amongst others.

What's more, since the income stream is "off the books", it is easier to use the ill gotten gains for other illicit purposes. Fewer auditors, accountants and regulators need to be bought off, locked up or "suicided."

The reason this has gone on is manifold. I will try and find my explanation on this subject and re post it here.

In Nazi Germany the fascists put a certain percentage of the population into jails and used them as a work force..and forced to manufacture and produce 85% of the NAZI military's soft goods.

In the USA, after the fascists and the banks financed the Nazi's in the first place and got their investment back.. in the form of importing vast numbers of Nazi's and Nazi scientists. the same skull & bones/cia/nazi bankers/Illuminati/Freemason crew..that crew has managed to do everything in their power get..now..at this time....in the USA..the same percentage of the population in the jails..and manufacturing ...that wanted 85% of the US military's soft goods. Be it enforced corporate work or enforced government work.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the same fascists started the zero tolerance drug laws, be it democratic, (Rockefeller NY state-70's) or Republican (Regan war on drugs-80's)
What they got:
--massive financing and expansion of the police forces and surveillance programs.
--Massive financing AND privatization of the prison systems. (profit system and outside of government oversight and scrutiny)
--free labor for major corporations tied to government through the military system of awarded contracts. (profit system and outside of government oversight and scrutiny)
--the creation of the DEA to move CIA drugs and money around for the financing of skull & bones black ops programs. (profit system and outside of government oversight and scrutiny)
All of this done literally on the backs of the public, in all ways.
Part of my point is that people in the USA think that they would not be capable of living in a fascist state like the Nazi's had without noticing...... and how could the Germans fall for it? So may people in prison systems and camps, working for the war machine!!
Well guess what, the people in the USA are living that exact same nightmare and just like the Germans....they did not... and are not noticing.
Your theory is interesting, but has some flaws.
The NSDAP was not fascist.
Your claim about the prisoners and their output is severely overstated.
Go google the work gastarbeiter.
You do know that america, uk, australia, canada and others interned germans, japanese and italians, yes?
The US corporation is run by communists that subverted it during the ''long march through the institutions'' in the 60's and 70's.
You cannot release prisoners for drug related charges, that have not been fully rehabilitated. Do you know how many prison guards would not get overtime and monies put into their pensions?
Hey,for the guards it's a 20 year stint..then 80% of their pay for another 20 years. That's why they signed up for the gig.
How could you let a criminal who was involved in a non violent crime out early?
No overtime or pension would lower the moral of the guards.
Can't have that.
If the law is on the books..and you change the law...at least keep the prisoners who were sentenced before you changed the law... behind bars.
Hashish versers pot is on the law books now. So I can grow pot 10times stronger then making hash out of lousy pot.
How crazy is this group of lawmakers? Who sponsord the bill?
The Guards?
I personally don't smoke pot. I could care less what you do behind closed doors.
But WHY do I have to pay to keep you incarcerated for 20 years when our country is broke? For pot..errr hash?
Nope..for the guards. Empty beds mean layoffs. Can't have that.
eliminate the smoking theory,used as a food,even better oil, this plant will eliminate and reverse nearly every illness on the planet, if used to maintain the body you will always be healthy, life expectency will increase,the aging process will slow down, forget getting high its just a pleasant side effect,once your body is used to the dose(half the size of a grain of rice) it will not debilitate you in any way,the opposite is true, its the worlds most potent and natural medicine, it cures not manage
The reason it will never be legalised is that it opens up the users consciousness.........and in that state you can easily see the 'games' being played by the ptb. As a plant product it can replace most of the oil industry, not bad for something that grows like a weed (pun intended).
When smoked (so I'm told) it puts you back in touch with mother nature and this wonderful planet that we live on.
As others have alluded to, it is a wonder medicine that can cure a lot of 'ills'.
So by legalising it we would put the oil and pharmaceutical industries out of business and people would start caring for the planet..........and we can't have that..........can we?
