During a speech last night at a Las Vegas casino, Reality TV star (and world class fame whore) Donald Trump gave a fiery speech in which he complained about Barack Obama by unleashing a "tirade of profanity" according to an AP report. Perhaps more offensive than Trump's use of the f-bomb is his suggestion that the price of oil could be simply managed by having someone in Washington tell Saudi Arabia "you aren't going to raise that f*cking price anymore!" I agree w/ Ilie Pandia. TPTB needed cash, and they cut a deal w/ China, most notably during Clinton's time in office. Should they be blamed for making a profit off of our government's corruption, or are we the ones to blame for not noticing, and buying up the cheap Chinese crap lining our retail shelves. It's easy to throw stones, but most of us won't admit we've contributed to the problem with our spending.

I think it is time to quit whining and start buying locally. What if all this on-line complaining (which I am doing too at this moment) was directed at protecting Unions, demanding goods manufactured in one's home country, and being visible critics of corruption in the "real world" instead of the so-called "alternative" one?

You can only tie up an elephant because it thinks it can't get free, being conditioned from childhood to being tied up. What if we changed that equation?

Anytime a country goes through hard times, as many in America are seeing now. especially blue collar workers who have lost their jobs over the last couple decades to China, lost the equity in their houses over the last three years, and now can't afford the rising price of gas at the pumps for their suburban assault vehicles, it is easy to rile them up with attacks on other nations.

Notice that Trump ranted against China (where "our" jobs went) and Saudi Arabia (where "our" gas money goes.) Trump did not rant against the fat cat Bankers who ripped off Americans with the mortgage bubble and fraud because Trump is a fat cat real estate investor himself -- that rant would hit too close to home for Trump. Trump did not mention that most of that money Americans spend for gas and manufactured goods to Saudi Arabia and China is (or was, in the case of China) recycled back into purchasing U.S. Treasuries. It has been one of the main ways that the U.S. Empire funds itself (that, and selling crack cocaine to its under class youth ;), and (P.S.) selling its middle class into debt slavery).

It probably hasn't ocurred to the average American that Trump is actually riding shotgun for Obama who is in with the Goldman Sachs crowd. The BC melodrama was used to clear the way so it doesn't interfere at election time and the target hairs have been reset to 'a new enemy abroad'. Of course this enemy is actually through financial hijinks keeping the dollar afloat and keeping the markets turning (China holding so much american paper govt bonds and so on...)..
I always maintained the crunch will come against Europe and the euro rather than China.

So..the rampant oil prices have not one thing to do with Saudi Arabia, in the 'core' aspect, but by:

This idea of "speculation" for a profit has damaged the "ordinary Joe" terribly.
I've been to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange several times as a tourist, and if you look at the trading floor, it's a bunch of screaming men (an occasional woman too) who are juggling the price on everything from pork bellies (I'm assuming they mean bacon by that--if not--nasty!) to wheat to oil to corn. They sell what others produce for money, and produce nothing themselves but price inflation.

Price inflation is not a product. It is a capitiaistic surcharge on on basic goods.
Now, I'm not against people using their resources to make a profit, but this game
is clearly fixed.

You have to buy a seat on the exchange. It isn't awarded by merit.
