A represenative from Maine proposes a bill to create a State Bank similar to N. Dakota. I hope this bill get's the support it needs, it is so important. I wonder if other state lawmakers around the country are proposing simliar bills? Here is a link to the article http://www.mpbn.net/Home/tabid/36/ctl/ViewItem/mid/3478/ItemId/16101/Default.aspx

Let's hope Maine does and is the first New England state to do so. The sooner we get away from the Federal Reserve Note, the better.
Anyone care to send theirs to me? ;)

Wouldn't these state banks just be owned by the same highway robbers who own the fed?

That's a good question. Most every bank - regardless of who it is "owned" by deals with U.S. currency, which is what the Federal Reserve is all about. It's the Federal Reserve that lends the US the money it needs to put into circulation and controls the financial policies that govern and regulate banking institutions. So all banks - even state-owned banks - would be subject to the Fed.
(Federal Reserve. Misleading term, isn't it? You'd think it was actually a Federal Government institution.)

Yes, I think that's true sshenry. If the fed reserve creates it they control it. Somehow they have jurisdiction for everything transacted in fed reserve notes.

It's just another trick they pulled out of their sleeves. All banks are corrupt, it seems the financial system is trying to hold on to dear life with teeth and nails. Too late though.
