View Full Version : FEMA to confiscate food from local farms in emergencies?

Since our nation's founding the federal government has, in times of emergency, claimed extra-constitutional powers and authority. Under the guise of acting in the public's best interests, Washington has taken away privacy rights, free speech, and habeas corpus, among others. There's no reason to think it wouldn't happen again.

With that in mind, would it surprise you to find out that if disaster strikes in your part of the country, the federal government is prepared to take over local food supplies, in part by confiscating farms?

It shouldn't, says "Farmer Brad," a Texas-based farmer who said in an interview about food security with Mike Adams for Natural News TV that during Hurricane Katrina, an inventory of local farms and what they produced was conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"FEMA was doing an inventory of all the farms around ... metroplexes," he said, which included nearby Houston and other large cities. "They started calling up farms and wanted to know where farms were, and they were being prepared to maybe take food if they need to, from farms, you know, for a crisis like that."

And this is why you have the amendment to bear arms, make sure you use it before you lose it.

I hope that's supposed to be funny. Right ?

As LS says - Your right to bear arms is important to you right now, it's possible the only thing preventing them imposing martial law, although I'm sure they'll manage to find a way round it.

How FEMA handled food distribution during Hurricane Katrina:

that indeed is supposed to be funny.. Because facing horror with a smile usually leaves the horror dumbfounded. Not that that really solves the problem though.. But I'll give you my opinion on this matter.

I think it is bizar to see the fluctuation that american people have to endure between the reality on tv and the reality in their daily lives. How can hundreds of thousands of people live in tents and have your government decide to bomb another country's population also into tents.. Why are you seeing that working six jobs with 2 adults is not enough to support yourself, let alone children, but is the media full of the joy of killing a dead man in pakistan? I saddens me to see and read all this because I think a lot of bloodshed will occur in the few coming years. All these measures, people are starting to feel pushed. And when they do they will follow the herd in what outcome they want. And if that herd breaks loose of it's herders and dogs to keep them in place only than they will be free.

As for the grabbing of food? It was not uncommon till around the 50's or 60's in the last century in the Netherlands to be shot or clubbed by a farmer or his men if you tried to steal anything from his land. Whether you'd be a child or not. Stories of policemen that were shot off properties with hail are numerous. Simply because they did not know how to approach people and those policemen often came from the (big) cities.. Today, no such culture of firearms exists openly anymore, but the spirit remains. It is this in combination with the following phrase I once read that leads me to think societyies will in the basis always be ready for revolt against stupidity and oppression. Parafrased it was something like this:

"The problem of every social (liberal for non-europeans) society is the farmer, for it is he who provides food and with that responsibility freedom and independence comes naturally. It is therefore not strange that those imposing systems always sacrified the farmer because he would not be wooed by the false promises of equality that the system provides".

That for me is the bottomline. If a country attacks it base, it's farmers than you know something is fundamentally wrong. You can take away freedoms, rights and soforth, but take away the farmer and nothing will stand. That is my opinion.

It boggles my mind that my fellow Americans can be so gullible and quite frankly . . . . stupid,

What do you really think is in those MASSIVE “acts” and “plans” and bills” that have been recently passed????

Patriotic Act . . . passed after 9/11 is 342 pages and violates at least six of the ten original amendments known as the Bill of Rights. Within these 342 pages it gives US government as well as very chilling references to NATO having the right of eminent domain. This means the government can take anything they claim they may need under the guise of “protecting the people”. ANYTHING

The recently passed Health Care Bill is 1990 pages . . . . really??? There is not one Congressman or Senator who can concisely address what this Bill entails. This also means the volumes verbiage can be pushed around and interpreted in any way they want . . . to be used against us . . . you don’t really think this was for our benefit do you??

Weapons of Mass Destruction??? Call the white house!!!!! I found two of them . . .do I get a reward???

Back to thread topic . . . .taking big breaths here . . . . in through the nose out through the mouth . . . . . . . in through the nose out through the mouth . . . in out . . . . .in out.

Farm confiscation. Every year I receive a document that is around 20 pages long from the state government (Kansas) that says “by law” I have to fill out and sign. Although no one seems to know what law this would be . . . . I know because I have asked. This document wants me in detail to fill out everything about my farm. Acreage and what type of land crop, hay, pasture, what crops have been produced and amount in tons, pounds, bushels of said crops and /or the ability to produce, animals and livestock produced and capability of being produced, how many animals I have bought and sold, number of ponds, number of useable wells, square footage of barns and use of said barns, other out buildings and use of those out buildings, how many homes and number of people living on land, my gross income from farmland, and on and on . . . . . . it’s insane and completely intrusive.

And why I tell you what, I just fill out that document in the best way I can . . . . . just like a clueless little American . . . . .yeah right.

Ask the Missouri farmers that lost their livelihood last week for several decades if not forever when under the guise of “saving a historical town” 130,000 acres was flooded . . . .no destroyed. This is the perfect example of eminent domain brought to you by the Patriot Act.

Yes the government will take the farmland if they deem they should . . . . . .ask the thousands and thousands of small family farmers that lost their farms in the 80’s. Guess who owns those farms now???? Guess what is being grown on those farms by massive corporations??? Ask Monsanto.

Don’t be fooled, the majority of you that live in towns or neighborhoods. If your house is in a neighborhood that is close to, let’s say a military base and we are brought into a “state of war” (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) and the US military brings in reinforcements from NATO . . . . where do you think that foreign military force is going to live???? That would be in your house and using your kitchen, beds and household goods.

Don’t think it could and will happen????? This is only one of the reasons I’m heading for the hills.

And before someone accuses me of reacting from a place of “fear” . . . . don’t bother. This is reality people and “we ain’t in Kansas anymore”. LOL I crack myself up.

They are tightening the noose a little bit everyday and we are benignly letting them . . . . well those of you who refuse to see truth are. Me ???? I have a really big butcher knife and I cut that noose a long time ago . . . . .

blufire you are the "real deal".

you are the "boots on the ground".

you are fighting a fight that most all of us can only read about.

you give yourself fully and selflessly in an effort to produce ***HEALTHY*** food ...

how many here ... even among so many awakened here at avalon ... really understand that?

at some point ... I dunno when but suspect it will not be long ... we all can forget about filling up grocery carts full of edibles.

the "masses" don't understand that ... hopefully most of us here do?

hats off to you blufire :hail:

Why Calz . . . . you is making me blush :o

1992 Hurricane Andrew was ONE of my wake up calls.

I was standing in the living room watching the news coverage with my then 4 and 6 year old girls. I can still remember the lines blocks and blocks long of desperate people hoping for handouts of cheese and dried milk and water. Gas was gone. The looting and murdering of people over what was remaining in the grocery stores left me depressed and confused. It was weeks before any semblance of order returned.

And our reaction and ability to handle national tragedies still isn’t any better.

I felt it my responsibility as a mother to take care of my babies in everyway and that became my “measuring tool” from that day forward. I'm a mother bear type mother!!!

This past Mother’s Day my oldest (now 25) wrote in her card to me . . . .”I want to thank you Mom from my soul for being a “Mean Mom”. I cried and tearing up now. She said “thank you” for making her learn to bake bread from scratch, even grow and ground the wheat, balancing her own checkbook, change her own oil and tires but always letting her sleep in “the mommy bed” when she was sick. She thought at the time I was a horrible mean mother . . . .but all the time I just was grooming her to be the next “Mean Mom"

I am bumping this thread because I feel it is very important.

While we are doing our research and studying and reading, exposing and expanding our minds and hearts, these types of control and manipulating tactics are being used against us.

All the headway we are making to the truth of who we are as humans and where we have been historically, the capability we have of going spiritually and being a true free growing humanity will be and is slowly being stripped away.

You really don’t think all the “things” that are happening globally is by chance do you??

We are making headway and causing waves . . . . don’t get sucked in by these very skilled tactics of war. “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu comes to mind . . . have you read it???

We have to be diligent in how we lead our lives and change the way we live so “they” don’t have a “foothold”. We can’t let them continue to name or change the “rules of this Game”.

We have to step out of the game and live a life of solid reality . . . so we can effectively apply all this incredibly valuable information that is being revealed to us.

And bumping it up you have :bump2:

Your memories of Andrew are what is likely to start transpiring in just a few short days in the event of a major disruption of services. That is why I recommend to EVERYONE to have several weeks of food and water stored (at a minimum). That is not coming from fear (as some posters imply).

What would happen if (when) we have a 1859 type of CME which knocked out much of the telegraph wires??? Hey ... back then not such a biggie. With all the electronics such an event would turn our cities into Mad Max time.

Coming from fear?

Well the magnetosphere has weakened substantially and we will be heading into the solar max in 2013 or so. Magnetic pole is shifting. No one can deny that. Not implying that would lead to a PHYSICAL pole shift ... but who really knows FOR SURE what will happen?

Indigenous people living in scattered locations in the world would (will) fair dramatically better than "advanced civilizations".

Anyhoo ... make some common sense prepartion (while there is still time :clock: ) then go back with your normal life. Not something to dwell.

IMHO
