View Full Version : Detox Strategies and Sharing

The topic of detox has come up in a few places on Avalon lately, on the PTSD thread, and also in Lucia Rene's world. She posted an interesting link to an article by Tom Kenyon on 'Spritual Detox', found here:
http://tomkenyon.com/psycho-spiritual-detoxification
On this note, and also since I've been working on my own detox issues in a more refined and intensive way the last 6-8 weeks or so, I felt called to start this thread in hopes of having a space for Avalonians to share what has worked for them, how they are using various spiritual, physical, mental and emotional detox strategies and techniques, and just generally jump-start some creative sharing on the subject.
The energies of Now seem very suited to this sort of work, and the 5 eleven eleven energies of today are really calling to me to reach out and expand my projects in this area of my life.
So if you have anything to share, specific recipes, general techniques or even just success stories, please post!
Namaste
Excellent topic for a thread :clap2:
Sungazing has been brought up by several members (current and retired) as something that has the potential to heal on all the levels you mention.
I cannot offer personal verification yet but will be starting as soon as we get passed the "rainy season". :rain:
Here is a good source of information for those interested:

Excellent topic, thank you.
And perfect timing, as i sit here typing i'm soaking in a foot bath of clay,
but more about that later.
I recently went through a period of stress and upheaval, and the first thing i did when i re-settled was to really take a good look at my physical health.
Even though i never actually get sick, physically, i knew i was not performing at my best, mentally, spiritually and psychically.
My diet had got pretty bad. So that was the first thing i looked at.
I joined a local food box group, and i now get fresh organic fruit and veggies delivered every week.
It's actually saving me money - eating well does not have to cost a fortune.
And don't get me started on the "food miles " some of our food travels,
like we have the BEST produce here , and our supermarkets have the nerve to stock garlic from China and Argentina!!
GRRRRRR!!!! But thats a whole other thread.
So now I'm using my car less running to the shops, i'm supporting local growers, i'm much more inspired to cook,
having such great produce to work with, and
it's also motivated me back into food gardening, so come 6 or 8 weeks, i will be able to pick some of my own food.
So yes i would suggest that the start of any detox program would have to be a good quality food.
And if you can't get that, then at least bless the food that you can get, it makes a big difference.
I'm also lucky enough to have in my new place, a reverse osmosis water filter.
Yesterday i had it tested to make sure it was working properly.
They test for solids in the water, my tap water read 661, while the filter water read 18.
Big difference. And no more Fluoride.
Oil pulling is a good quick detox trick,
i never heard of it before there was a thread posted here about it.
http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?5647-Oil-pulling&highlight=oil+pulling
I do it most mornings (if i remember) , and i really notice a difference if i forget,
like i might wake up with a sore throat if i haven't done it for a few days,
Also, when i wake up, i squeeze half a lemon in some filtered water,
this is great for your liver, and helps to set up your digestion for the day.
It's also a great trick if u have been drinking too much alcohol, i'm over my drinking days thankfully.
Although i still like a glass of red, which seems to be a good thing by many reports.
Now the clay bath, i'm soaking in.
I still have 3 of the old style dental filings, i have done a lot of renovating of old houses, ( lead paint),
and in the past, i did use aluminium cook ware, so i was curious to test my heavy metal levels.
The test i did, given wasn't the expensive hair sample panel version, ( i might still do that later after i have had my fillings replaced)
showed me WAY off the scale. And after some research it seems that Clay baths are the safest way to detox you.
Other methods can take too many good minerals out of your body, defeating the whole purpose..
I have chosen to just go the foot bath , rather than the whole body way to start.
I'm not the best study as i tend to do too many things at once,
so its hard to say what is having what effect, if u get my drift...
But i can say i'm feeling pretty damn fantastic.
In the past i had done some pretty intense detox type diets, which in the first week can really wipe you out.
Im talking bedridden, migranes, feeling really ill especially with some of the
liver flush type ones. I think they do work, but i also think that you can be a bit more gentle easing your body into these things.
Which is my current way of thinking. I really want to be able to maintain these changes, why i'm going more slow and gentle, and less boot camp,
nazi style cleansing. Rather than going on and off the wagon all the time,
its better to try and establish some long term common sense habits.
I'm really looking forward to hearing others experiences on this one......
Blessings,
Astrid

I forgot to mention.
Important and simple.
Subtle energy detoxing.
Water does wonders for cleaning, clearing your auric field.
If u are feeling flat energetically speaking, you might have taken a power loss.
Many things can cause this. But when you learn to listen to you body closely, you can feel when the energy is leaving your field.
Being in busy places - the mall does it every time, being online can be very bad for power loss, think about it, we are tapping into the collective.
Water is the cure. Try this. Next time you are online for too long, and are feeling a loss of energy.
Go and wash your hands and arms under cool running water. Feel the difference.
If i have to deal with a lot of peoples energies, i might have 2 or 3 showers in a day.
They don't have to be long showers.
For those that are sensitive this is an IMPORTANT tip.
A simple rebounder (small trampoline) is great in aiding the lymph glands detox. Movement, muscle contraction is the only way to move lymph fluid, as there is no pump in the system. There is more lymph fluid than blood, but blood has a pump. So, exercise and movement is critical.
I also use a far-infrared sauna to sweat out the toxins. I use an ionic foot bath. Magnets. And all the things mentioned by Sowelu.

Hypnosis is contrary to my believes, so I prefer and recommend reading instead. Depending on the situation and the background of the person recognizing the need to detox his/her mind, most inspirational books can be found in audio or video format, but silence and contemplation should be made a priority to stay away from distractions and absorb the message on the recommended book.
To any unknown soul, I would suggest 'A New Earth' at http://t.co/jRR5ef8
but if I know the person have some faith that needs strength, there are other choices more focused on specific needs, like 'Conversations With God', 'Journey of Souls', writings or recording by remarkable authors (like Og Mandino, Osho, Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, etc.), or even sections of 'The Bible'.
Another priority should be to detox our bodies, at least once a year. My ancestors used to purge their children once a month. Talking about it is a taboo like sex or death, but it is needed to improve our physical health. I detox my internal pipes every year to lose that weight and allow better absorbing of nutrients to feed my internal organs. If you need a recommendation of how to do it, your doctor is your best guide, because he knows your clinical history.

Cabala juice fast. 40 days. After that one can go down. Don Tolman found the recipe after searching for 17 years or so. I'm trying it now to detoxify and in the same process skipping cigaretts, alcohol, coffee and other stimulants. Day 2. So if any one has a bit of good and steady hearted energy to spare, send it on over!
Carrots (2.2 lbs = 1 kg)
Apple (red)
Beatroot (1/3 of a fist sized)
Apple (green)
Lemon (with shell and everything)
Apple (yellow)
Juice it and consider it a meal. Notice the only color missing before matching the chakras? Blue. Either way, reading up on Don Tolman and this juice won't hurt.

Another priority should be to detox our bodies, at least once a year. If you need a recommendation of how to do it, your doctor is your best guide, because he knows your clinical history.
I want to be respectful of different folks' experience on Earth, so I'll do my best with this one. Doctors are authorities. Authorities presume that there is such a thing as better than or superior to anyone or thing. In this system, there is no equality, no equity. True authenticity of being is lost, because the acknowledgement of the spark of life we each have our own, unique aspect of is not honored. Its a splitting of source/Goddess/creator that is unnatural.
So that said, to not acknowledge or to take responsibility for one's own life-body of experience (and hence 'clinical history') and to beleive a doctor is the 'best guide' is to give up the Earth mission to raise the human conscioussnes/ human BEING vibration at this time.
This is not for me, though I know its a path many others at this time are taking. For me, I have my sextants set on a different navigational tool. Inner knowledge of self, integration of all that IAM, honoring what I know and have experienced of myself in physical/material form, makes me the best guide of what is needed. If I find some wise souls along the way to remind me or teach me of good ideas and practices that others have developed as techniques to hone self-awareness, then great. If I work with my own etheric/spirtual guides to facilitate this inner knowing, great.
But as for me, for now, 'doctors' can go on with their authority elsewhere. Their time and place in the historicity of useful guidance is over in the world I choose to inhabit.
Namaste.

Thanks Astrid for bringing up the subtle energies.
I have been going through some interesting upheavel and whatnot lately. I see this as a detox of my energy field. Some interesting stuff on this blogtalkradio show http://www.blogtalkradio.com/goldraytwinflames (I'm catching up on the two year old archives), and they were talking about how we can do this or that to activate our lightbody, raise our vibration, etc., but if we do not clean out what was there already whether you believe the energetic imprints are from past or current life experiences, how can you really progress? I thought it was a super valid point.
Many moons ago, I went through all of the training for EFT. I never did become a certified practitioner or anything like that, but I have definitely used it to help myself and... well, that's pretty much it. I don't know anybody I ever helped learn EFT that actually used it! For me, though, I can say it is a tremendous help. I quit smoking pretty much just with EFT. Quitting smoking dramatically increased my energy flow and my detox of my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. I also believe the tapping works on all of our bodies. It's worth the effort and you can learn it completely for free at http://www.eftuniverse.com/ .
Also, as I have seen recommended in many places, cut out the 5 stinky plants (onion, chives, leeks, garlic and shoot is the other one radishes?). Anyhow, waste not, want not, so we are finishing up some foods around the house that still have onion & garlic in them, but we are not buying any more products with any of these in them. Expecting another big energy boost soon!
Also, hubby and I are taking a few products from http://www.twinflames.ca/store/cart.php. Specifically the Ambaya Gold vitamins & minerals, Pure Essence Calcium & Magnesium and Chamae Rose - Eucalyptus Combination from Harmonics Innerprizes. I'm just a customer, so I don't get anything from recommending them. I definitely do recommend the products and the supplier for anybody located in Canada.
Also, a huge detox that effects all of your bodies... Andreas Moritz Liver & Gallbladder Cleanse. I found it completely amazing how much anger I released detoxing my liver. There is a huge thread about this, and I highly recommend it. http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?6528-Liver-detox-%28from-av1%29
And, I started oil pulling again. The thread Astrid posted was a timely reminder for me. I had great results from it before using extra virgin coconut oil. Right now I am using extra virgin olive oil. I know there is various debate about how it should be done. I spit and get more oil halfway through, and make sure I do it for more than 20 minutes. It makes sense to me to change the oil. Kinda like changing the mop water halfway through the job.
That's my giant detox rant. Hope it's helpful to somebody!

Thanks for the thread on detoxing. Just what I needed today!
I am on a partial juice fast today--wasn't feeling well yesterday, so it seemed time to do it. I didn't want anything to eat last evening, so I just had a ripe, juicy pear and filtered water all evening.
This morning I'm eating a few bites of watermelon every half hour of so, as I feel hungry. Sipping water. For lunch I may have a green salad, or possibly make some vegetable-fruit juice in the extractor. It depends on how i'm feeling. I get a headache and body misery when I detox too fast. I have to take it slowly, or I'll end up eating a cookie just to stop it! Slow and easy works best for me.
For subsequent days into a detox, blended soups are wonderful when you want a little more but not 'real' food yet. Just put in veggies you'd put in soup (not potatoes or grain), but keep them raw, just blend them and add water to make the thickness you like. Flavor with good quality veggie powder if you wish. You can even warm the soup a bit, but not too much or you'll destroy the beneficial enzymes.
Miso soup is good as a next step, a bit closer to eating heavier food. It can have tofu or not, and it usually has a little seaweed in it, like hijiki or arame. If you aren't used to seaweed, try dulse powder. You can sprinkle a little in your soup, so you don't come upon a piece of seaweed. Dulse has a nice flavor, not too strong.
A friend in California who does a lot of raw food, told me about kale chips. Has anyone else heard of them? I haven't made them yet but hope to soon. You tear kale into bite sized pieces and toss it with tamari sauce or good soy sauce. Spread out on a baking sheet and place in a warm oven to dry out. Watch it carefully, esp. at the end. You want it crispy, but have to catch it just at that point or it'll burn. You can also use a food dehydrator for this and not have to be as careful about burning at the end.

Astrid - an interesting thread, thank you. I too am affected by busy places, more so now than before and its also interesting what you said about taking showers, if I feel drained (normally due to being at work and the stresses that entails) or being around a lot of people I seem to need to shower more and feel that I am getting rid of negative energy from them.

Star, does it bother you to be in a store with a lot of people? When I was younger, I couldn't stay in a crowded mall, made me feel scattered, tired and grumpy. I have used a seasalt scrub to help cleanse away energies, and a quick cold water rinse in a pinch.
Astrid, I add my thanks for the thread.

Junebug - it so does even now. When I was small and I went shopping with my Mum she would have to bring me home early sometimes as I would get (as she put it) disorientated by all the people and the noise. I stay away from large towns and cities as much as I can now and seem to need calm and silence more and more.

Hi Star--as I think of it, one of the reasons it doesn't bother me as much now is that I rarely go to the mall or places with large crowds.
It is uncomfortable if a stranger invades my space, as in standing in line and someone moves really close, it kinda creeps me out. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, my solution is to turn around and engage the person in polite conversation. I either make a new acquaintance and feel OK, or the stranger backs off a bit. I guess we find little coping mechanisms, don't we?
Have you ever used flower essences? They have helped me enormously, to adjust to all the energies that are bouncing around in the world.

Hi Nora,
Good point about adding spirulina to carrot juice. Do you thin your carrot juice with water? I do, or sometimes with celery juice which is watery.
My friend used chlorella in her drinks because it has protein in it. I'll have to look up the difference betwen spirulina and chlorella protein-wise. I've never used chlorella except in soapmaking (makes it a pretty minty green).
I have used barley green, and liked it, very nutritious.
All love,

The Master Cleanse (http://themastercleanse.org/) always does me well. 10 days if I can make it. I want to be able to do it for 40 eventually. There are vids out there of these young adults who do it so i'm using that as motivation to do it too.

it's hard, isn't it? LOL it just goes to show you how much we are addicted to food and how hard it is to fight against that addiction. also how much we use food for other things besides sustenance. like socialization, mood-enhancing, depression, just something to do. the longest i've done it is 16 days, which was some years ago. a few months ago i did 10. its time to do it again now ... there are sometimes people who say it is bad for you as a reduction diet, well, it's a cleanse that you happen to lose weight while doing it. as far as i'm concerned, it's great. if you're doing it after never having cleansed before, you can have some extreme effects. the first time i did it, some years ago, i got an ache back in my lower back area that had me barely walking for two weeks, but i guess i was passing some sort of toxins, that's what the pains or strange feelings usually are. if you're a druggie, then you pass old drugs that have been stored in the fat in your body. LOL and you just melt away, all over your body at the same time as far as weight-loss is concerned...but you feel your insides getting clean and your mind clears as well, which is the main point of it. as someone else in the thread said, the energies we are currently being bombarded with are best experienced with as clean a body and mind as possible.
Marianne
19th September 2011, 02:34
Hmmm ... you are inspiring me! I am going to start with some fresh green drinks with fruit juice, then go to green juice, then on to the master cleanse. I have to build up to it. I have done all raw diet for days at a time, but not just juice. And it's been a few years since I did that. It does feel great to be clear. I have lyme disease and had to take antibiotics for awhile, really scary all around, hating taking them but scared not to. I am sure those drugs are still in my system.
Thanks Rahkyt.
Mark
19th September 2011, 02:44
Make sure you stay safe while doing it, if you are taking some sort of prescription medicines, but if it is just antibiotics you should be fine. I saw on CNN yesterday that the #1 best food in the world is lemons. You should google them, see what good they are. The maple syrup and cayenne that you use for the cleanse are also really good, so that when you do it, your body is getting everything it needs to function. The cravings that you experience are only that, they are not hunger pangs. LOL Humans can go 28 days without food so 10 ain't gonna kill nobody and there are so many people who have done far more on this cleanse without any negative side effects. I'm about to start again myself in 10 days or so, maybe I'll meet you coming out the other side! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I'm not taking the antibiotics now, it was more than a year ago. Not on any meds now. :)

once in a while i go half and half. i am so allergic to everything..... especially anything that is yeast or creates yeast in the body -i might be able to get away with barley green. i don't mix protein, carbs, veggies or fruits together very often.....
forgot to mention that Amazon Herbs has a pretty good detox program and cleanse
Have a great day

Hi Nora!
Bummer that you're allergic to yeast.
I can't eat peanuts. Not a breathing problem, I just can't digest them. I have to read labels and not eat stuff that was mixed in a plant that uses peanuts. If I ever mess up and eat it, I know it because I get sick that night. It's a pain so I'm pretty careful. The effect of it is that I don't eat much processed snack food, which turns out to be a good thing.
Do you do food combining? I mix protein with vegetables, or grain with vegetables. Fruit alone in the morning, and occasionally night, but there are certain veg juices I blend wih fruit juices (apple celery, pineapple and green juices, etc.)
All love,
Marianne

Spirulina 1500mg tds twenty minutes before food with lots of water (adhered to for the last few months)
http://www.detoxification.ws/spirulina.htm
Within the first few days i dreamt that i was on the Giza Plateau at morning dusk, it had been snowing and the pyramids were black with a grey landscape.
Three months on, the dreams have gone and so has the aversion to chemtrail pollution (which is a big polluter in our area). An interesting conscious clean.
In the working-life world i'll go 36hours without sleep (twice sometimes three times a week as i did last week). I would not recommend this to anyone (but it's a life style I've chosen and have learnt to live with)as it places immense strain on the body and mind. For years I've lived with an overworked myocardium and all those sensations that it brings. As for cerebral tissue that is not rested well its bottomless.
After a few months on the spirulina the myocardium doesn't ache any more-i'm assuming it's the relative high mineral content particularly magnesium + antihypertensive/antihypercholesterolemia properties. The cravings for concentrated carbohydrates has gone-weight loss has occurred, the aches and pains have gone- you really know the mild analgesia effect of spirulina when you take it at 4am having been up since 7am. As for the mental state well you feel clean. It thus makes it easy to apply a meditative mindfulness of arising and passing. With its high amino acid content your thinking processes are so much sharpened and with such cerebral energy one is not consumed on negativity.
Evangelical about the algae? well my work colleagues laugh that i'm a share holder in a company-i promise i'm not- but if tempted to give it ago invest a little bit more money and get organic form a good supplier.
Side effects are well few but do your reading.

Hello Friends !
I have done some of this too and its awesome how much better you feel.
Detox for me worked on 2 levels
Mental and Physical and i did them simltaneaously. As they also work together , we guilt trip our selves because we generally have little dicipline , but a little each day and it snow balls the effect :)
First take control of the mind ! Let go of any and i mean ANY grudges ! let them go completely and forgive all in yoru life.
Stop yoru negative thoughts immediately wether they be guilt trips on food or thoughts about things that may happen maybe if perhaps something went wrong perhaps maybe ... STOP ! no more
take control of your own mind ! teach it to behave and think happy things , when you smile you automatically heal and lose weight , the trick is it has to be a genuine smile from the heart ! instead think of all the wonderful things in the world :) like puppy dogs and flowers ! No use in de toxing if you are going to still top up on toxic thoughts ...
in order to be happy first you must be happy then you can be happy butyou must be happy first :)
Physical started with cutting out
caffiene ( replaced with black tea )
garlic ( horrible stuff ! )
onions ( yuck yukky yuk )
smoking substances ( 70 % of toxins are expelled through the exhale , it cannot leave the body if you coat it with tar ! )
sodas and MSG !
ANYTHING THAT SAYS REDUCED FAT OR DIET FOOD GET RID OF IT ! its been processed and instead of natural stuff in it they inject it with chemicals ! yuuuuk !
Side note on Garlic the RAAF and British airways FORBID their pilots eating garlic 72 hours before a flight ! why ? because it slows down the mental abilities and reaction times. It makes you docile. and it reacts badly with the endocrine system causing all sorts of imbalance to the mental and physical body. It reduces your over all vibration to low harmonics.
I started eating regularly and didnt starve myself , DO NOT CUT OUT CARBS ! this is dangerous ! the body needs carbs for gods sake ! it helps brain function and its what eats yoru sugar intake ! if you dont burn off sugar guess what ? sugar feeds cancers ! and dont reduce fats , good fats are needed as well ! Eat good food , organic food thats fresh and most importantly EAT RAW FOOD ! you should have a diet of over 50% RAW ! once you cook food it kills most of the nutrients ! and the body dosent like cooked food anyway . Eat raw veggies with a bit of olive oil hmmm ! yummy ! snack on those and see what happens ! Raw brocoli , carrots, salads , apples , pears , melons ! cauliflower YUM YUM YMMMM!
Regular exersise and lots of clean filtered water , 20 minutres a day is fine , strech as well , thats a must ( i hate streching but i feel so much better after )
I drank 3 ml of 6% hydrogen peroxide in 400 ml of water per day for 3 weeks. This did wonders for taking out exess fatty deposits in arteries , it helped oxygenate my muscles when exersising , reduced fatrigue as i used to get intense muscle strain around the neck and shoulders.. now it dosent happen any more..
Once a wek have 1/4 tea spoon of baking soda in 400 ml of water. and a pinch of raw grained sea salt.
You should also have a hot bath in 2 table spoons of baking soda and 20 ml hydrogen peroxide .. see what happens to yoru skin ! if you have heat rash or irritations that stuff clears it right up ! I had some Goji berris on my brekky , plenty of energy and highly detoxifying !
When i started this i was 115 KG and in 3 months i went down to 95 kg ! now im a steady 90 kg , my skin is healed , and other more severe ailments gone ! i have health and vitality that ive not had since i was 20 years old , i look younger at 42 years than i did when i was 33 ! i was told i looked 27 years old .. but i think she had a bit to drink .. lol
I know its a battle to kik these things off .. i battled with it for years .. starting the diet and detox program .. but when i saw results it motivated me.. just get into it ! go for it , get the results and then keep going .. Ill never go back now im here to stay ! WOO HOO !
HUGS !

Here is another fun one to try !
i call it the Egyptian Shower !
A few years ago , maybe close to 8 years now i developed a shower technique you can use to cleanse the insides as well as the outside of the energetic body.
It is a simple technique. What you do is when in the shower put the water head up high enough so that the water flows over the head and down past the ears. what you want to do is stand in the middle so the water goes over the ears and creates like a water shell effect. The same as if you were under water with the wind going past you ... does that make sense ?
once you achieve this then cross the hands over the chest like you are an Egyptian Then you want to imagine the water going through you as opposed to outside of you. With a bit of practice and concentration you can get the sensation. This then cleanses your entire energetic body inside and out through the feet !
I have had amazing results with this and discovered it quite by mistake. When i did it the first time i was playing with the sounds the water made over the ears... when i got both ears to have the same effect it sounded to me like it would when you are in the womb. This really effected me in that it regressed me to pre date any present drama. The i imagined the water going through me .. When i got out i felt really good ! I told my partner at the time and she loved it !
Give it a try .. the tricky bit is getting both ears to simultaneously cover up and get the sound effect but be patient and you will get it !
