First off, I'm skeptical about this. I think it is more to do with the bean that actually drinking coffee.
I have posted in this thread: http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?20381-Why-Inositol
Drinking coffee kills this nutirent Inositol and what is Inositol, it plays an important part in the health of cell membranes especially the specialized cells in the brain.
Maybe we should be eating walnuts as research from Elaine Hardman, PhD, associate professor of medicine at Marshall University School of Medicine states those nuts can substantially reduce the risk of breast cancer.

I've seen a lot to do with acidity vs. alkalinity and cancer. Drinking coffee causes you to be acidic...
Sounds like Juan Valdez paid for a cancer study as a marketing gimic! ;)

Drinking coffee causes you to be acidic...
That is interesting KistheMum because I think on one of the MMS threads, if you take MMS anything under a pH of 7.0 (all the nasty heavy metals, toxins, cancers) it helps to get rid of it out of the body.
Generally a pH level under 7.35 is considered acidic.

Well, all I can tell you is when I was acidic I had recurring cancer (cells and growths).
I took B-17, and have stayed focused on keeping my body alkaline, and I've had no more cancer. Last incidence of malignant cells was 2007 before I started making the changes. At that time I cut down to one cup of coffee per day, and cut out coffee and all caffeine in 2008.
Guess it's up to each person what they choose to believe, eh? :)
I'm not sure where the 7.35 is coming from, as my understanding has always been, and still is that 7.0 is considered neutral?

KistheMum - did any doctors advise you to have chemo and if you didn't I admire your strength to stand your ground and conduct your own research which lead to diet changes.
In regards to the 7.35 well obviously I can't rely on Wikipedia lol
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acidosis
Acidosis is an increased acidity in the blood. Acidosis is said to occur when arterial pH falls below 7.35 (except in the fetus), while its counterpart (alkalosis) occurs at a pH over 7.45. The rate of cellular metabolic activity affects and, at the same time, is affected by the pH of the body fluids. Healthy human-arterial blood pH varies between 7.35 and 7.45. Changes in the pH of arterial blood (and therefore the extracellular fluid) outside this range result in irreversible cell damage.
I find it interesting that the basic structure of DNA is alkaline pairs so it all stands to reason that it is better to keep our bodies on the alkaline side.

Hmmm...a friend of mine is a radiologist. He says he sees many patients that drink a lot of coffee, many of whom have breast lumps. He says there is a correlation between caffein and breast lumps.
OTH, Iʻve read that the coffee berry is very high in anti-oxidents and coffee growers are starting to utilize the berry that they used to throw away. Watch for it.

Thats very interesting latte.
For most women, drinking coffee is a socially acceptable thing to do. How many women meet up for a coffee?
Here in Australia, one of the largest fundraising for Cancer is the 'Australia's biggest Morning Tea' held annually. It wouldn't surprise me if a coffee company started to sponsor that soon.

They didn't advise chemo for me. The initial growths were removed surgically without anesthesia (no, this wasn't in the bush somewhere... it happened in the States...), and then I had another treatment where they burned the cells off (again, no anesthesia).
They did keep me on hormones to keep my system shut down like that would somehow prevent it, and did actually want to talk to me about a hysterectomy, which I didn't buy into either. Kinda amazing, because I was told I would never have children. I went through a HUGE detox and really got my diet cleaned up and here I am, a Mum, and I was able to carry our little One and deliver her naturally.
I just really would encourage everybody to question everything (probably especially wikipedia ;) ), and make your own choices.

@latte - it is a fact - coffee/caffeine is linked with breast lumps/cysts.
@conk - those who live in Australia should supplement with selenium (the soil is generally selenium poor). In food, the best source is found in brazil nuts .... a few a day. Selenium is also v. important for prostate health.
Even 1 cup a day of coffee can be too much for some people. If it's once in a while, it's probably ok .... but a daily habit, even at just 1 cup is not. As KistheMum said, coffee is acidifying. It's best not to drink it at all. A nice cup of dandelion and chicory root is a good substitute .... it's very drinkable and better for you.

My brother in law complained of nightly trips to the bathroom. I told him about Brazil nuts and he began to eat three or four a day. Within two weeks, no more nighttime pee breaks. Yep!

Wings and conk, good reminder about the selenium. I donʻt like Brazil nuts so I finely chop them and throw them in salad, soup or oatmeal.
Miso soup with seaweed is the breakfast of champions and provides iodine! According to a Japanese doctor the miso is said to have a component that binds to radiation particles and removes them from the body. A hospital in 1940s Japan near the nuclear bomb sites served a lot of miso soup and it seemed to be the factor in protecting the hospital workers and patients during that time.
I love coffee, but keep the caffein low. Love the dandelion drink too BTW.

Last night on ABC News in Australia they mentioned there was a study done on 5,000-50,000 men (can't remember exact figure) and said by drinking 6-8 cups of coffee a day they reduced their chance of prostate cancer.
They then went on to say that Men should not start drink a gazillion cups of coffee a day because more research was still needed to be done.
Is that like a bit of a disclaimer? Why not wait until all the research was done before mentioning anything?
Would most Men hearing that think, oh well, that sounds promising, I'll start drinking more coffee in the meantime while their finishing their research?
Is it a bit like when Swine Flu was all the talk and was constantly reported on MSM that the Australian Government was initially only to get enough vaccines for Military, health proffessionals etc. A lot of the general public were thinking, well if its that serious, maybe I should be getting myself vaccinated to...

http://www.naturalnews.com/032070_baking_soda_tumors.html
NaturalNews) Baking soda has been used throughout history for a variety of purposes such as removing odors from the fridge, freshening up carpets and whitening teeth. But what few people know is that is it also a successful alternative cure for cancer. The treatment primarily benefits cancers of the throat, colon, intestines and rectal area, and when compared with the exorbitant costs of chemo and radiation, the baking soda cure weighs in at around $3. In addition, it is humane and non-invasive, something one cannot say for traditional cancer treatments. With baking soda, the worst that can happen is nothing, no change. This is a far cry from the decimation caused by cancer drugs and surgeries, which damage the immune system and leave the body in a severe state of shock.
"I was healthy and happy that I didn`t have to go through the torture that other people were being subjected to by doing the chemo or radiation. I never lost my hair or anything," remarks 60-year-old cancer survivor Sondra Braun.
Cancer cells thrive in a low-oxygen environment. The body cannot retain oxygen cells if the blood pH is highly acidic, and this is the standard condition of those with tumors who eat a diet of refined sugars, flours, caffeine and other acidic foods. Baking soda, or Sodium Bicarbonate, is a substance that neutralizes acids. One teaspoon a week will reverse an acidic blood pH, as will switching to a diet high in alkaline-producing foods.
Because cancer cells are so hungry for sugars, when the baking soda is mixed with maple syrup, the mixture will go straight to the site of the tumor, like a Trojan Horse, where the bicarbonate will quickly work as a weapon against disease. A good recipe for this is to mix 3 parts organic maple syrup with 1 part baking soda, stir over very low heat for 5-10 minutes and take 3 tsp per day for 1 to 2 months.
"I found the article about Dr. Simoncini in Italy who injected baking soda directly into the tumors to kill them." Braun continues. "For some reason this idea struck a chord with me. Three weeks after taking a baking soda and maple syrup mixture, my tumor began to shrink and become softer. This was documented by my oncologist and the surgeon by physical exams and also measurements by ultrasound. The tumor shrank down to 1.7 centimeters then only to 1.4 centimeters 2 months later after the ultrasound. It stopped shrinking because it had died. "
Italian physician and researcher Dr. Tullio Simoncini determined that high levels of Candida were present in those individuals with cancerous tumors. His conclusions led him to declare cancer a type of fungus. The body does not quickly develop immunity to baking soda as an anti-fungal, so he was able to apply it directly to tumors and neutralize their acidity. He also found it is important to replenish the body with good bacteria, or probiotics, and to avoid exposure to chemicals and environmental toxins as much as possible.
North Carolina farmer Ian Roadhouse also experienced the healing power of this baking soda mixture when healer Jim Kelmun put him on the protocol.
"Those other doctors told me that I was a goner and had less then six months to live," says Roadhouse. "But the doc put me on his mixture and in a couple of months the cancer was gone. It did not even show up on the x-rays."
For maximum results, combine the baking soda treatment with other alternative cancer-healing protocols as recommended by your holistic health practitioner.
