Israeli troops clashed with Arab protesters along three hostile borders on Sunday, leaving as many as 16 people dead and dozens wounded in an unprecedented wave of violence marking the anniversary of the mass displacement of Palestinians surrounding Israel's establishment in 1948. Hundreds of Palestinians moved across the Syrian border into the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights. The border breach set off several hours of violent clashes in which at least four people were killed. At the Qalandiya checkpoint on the outskirts of Ramallah in the West Bank, Israeli troops rushed in to disperse protesters, leaving several wounded. Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that he will vigorously defend his country's borders after the mass infiltration from Syria.

read the news this morning in the paper. Was this to coïncide with the march in Egypt (http://gazatvnews.com/2011/05/egypt-army-blocks-gaza-march/) that was stopped by the Egyptian Army? That march was placed as a topic on the forum as well a few days ago.

But still, invading a country unarmed by climbing over a fence. Call it foolish or dedicated, these people have balls.. Unfortunately it will add only to the propaganda that Israel can use to show how puny they are and that all those big bad surrounding countries want to destroy them. See! They even try it unarmed!
Still strange also that Israel celebrates, indirectly or not, the expulsion of a few hundred of thousands of people from their homes as the basis of their country. I never got that point actually.. Unless someone does or someones do not want a solution to the current situation.. :rolleyes:
