Gen. Khattiya Sawatdiphol, 59, better known as Seh Daeng, was allied with the protesters. He appeared to have taken a single bullet to the head during an interview. The Associated Press reached an unidentified aide to the general who described his wound as “severe."

Gen. Khattiya Sawatdiphol, who is allied with the "red shirt"
antigovernment protesters in Thailand, was shot in the head
on Thursday during an interview with The International Herald

Why does this always happen in these countries and not big protests like that in the western ones.

I don't think it's a good idea to wish for death upon ANYONE and people trying to carry out such predictions will be bringing a huge karmic burden upon themselves!
