I remember number 6 , this was in 1986.
Taiwanese Cult Leader Says God Will Arrive in Spaceship
""The True Way" (Chen Tao) was a cult started by a Taiwanese national named Hon-Ming Chen who was originally an atheist and a professor. The movement was a mix of Buddhism, Taoism and UFOlogy. Three things that obviously fit together.
Chen believed the Universe was 4.5 trillion years old and had been created by a nuclear war. He also believed there had been five tribulations in the past which were survived by UFOs rescuing Earth's inhabitants each time.
Chen predicted that God would appear on cable television in North America at midnight on March 31, 1998, regardless of whether you subscribed to cable or not. After announcing his return, he would land on Earth in his spacecraft. To prepare for God's arrival, "The True Way's" 140 members moved to Garland, Texas because it sounded like "God Land," bought twenty homes and started wearing cowboy hats.
When the prophecy didn't come true Chen offered to be crucified or stoned but no one carried out the punishment. 2/3 of the members abandoned the group, some because of visa problems that forced them to move back to Taiwan. In other words, people were so disappointed that they didn't even care enough to want revenge on the guy."

there have been many 'doomsday prophesies'. although we are all aware that something unnatural is going on at this very moment, i'm not so sure that this is the end of the world. of course, one really never knows what tomorrow may bring. so i choose to wait it out and see with my own eyes. and if God comes back in a spaceship, then i'm just gonna throw in the towel. lol. i remember a line from a woody allen movie: "If Jesus came back now, he would never stop throwing up." seems apropos for these times. thanks Astrid. interesting thread.

Hi Guys,
5. I remember the Y2K very well. All because some ancient software couldn't count past the year 1999 (i.e. only two digits were allocated to the year of the date on some older still in use software), and watching 6.30 current affair show with a guy here in Australia outrigging a horse float as a self sustained survival unit in case the world feel apart on the 1/1/2000.
Things went well on 1/1/2000, lazy morning and late breakfast and funnily enough every thing still worked.
Then the GST hit (aussie version of the VAT), and as I work as an accountant every Tom, Dick & Harry in panic asking me to setup the new tax system in their accounts.
The masses really don't stop and "think for themselves" they'd rather "react", it's like the panic you see in a flock of chickens being chased around in fun by some kids.

If Jehovahs witnesses come to your door and they annoy you( they might not),just mention 1975, when the world was due to end, and also two other occasions, cant remember the dates in the last century, they get extremely embarrased about this and usually mumble about everyone makes mistakes... regards Shijo.

When I poured myself out of the backwoods into the 'big city' for the first time, I arrived with a backpack and the clothes on my back.
I went to, the same day, to a large fountain in the largest part of the city. I parked myself, like a gargoyle, at a high spot on the fountain --and observed.
The first thing I did is I started to play with people's visceral or core understandings of their psychic connectivity. This, by forming different thoughts as I observed or did not observe people, but was still 'looking' at them, or not looking at them. I varied my view, my thinking pattern, and intent.
Then I stepped into different versions of moving and shifting the crowd mentality at the base level.
No place to live, no place to eat, and I chose to spend my time learning psychic connection and individual/crowd psychic and emotional under-current "dynamics and connections".
I did single cause analysis and live testing of theoretical/hypothetical aspects I had formed ....and found them all to be true.

If you happen upon Seventh-day Adventists you can do the same thing by mentioning the Great Dissapointment of 1844. :)
