Joplin families say it’s taking too long to identify storm victims

JOPLIN — Families of those who died or are presumed dead in the Joplin tornado are frustrated by what they say is a slow, confusing process of identifying victims and notifying their relatives.

Their concerns prompted the Jasper County Coroner’s Office on Thursday to say some family members would be allowed access to the morgue on Friday.
The state has called in a federal disaster mortuary team to help organize the process of identifying the dead, which remained unchanged at 125 on Thursday. The Missouri Department of Public Safety also announced that the list of missing people from Sunday’s EF5 tornado has been pared to 232.

I really don’t think there is anything going on here . . . especially in this case.
Just think about it for a moment . . . look closely at the immense damage to trees, buildings and concrete and metal structures. These were literally ripped to shreds. Now think about what that same force would do to a fragile human body. I think the officials were faced with the horribly morbid task of gathering up tiny bits of human body parts and trying to figure out how to identify them. All the missing are “found” at this point and I feel they were identified fairly quickly especially with destructive force of this particular hurricane.
I think we should use common sense and not always jump to the conclusion that those in control are out to get us.
Perhaps this is a bit of a wake up call, in that, we should be more self reliant and not have the expectation that the government or officials are responsible for taking care of us.
We are entering a time when self reliance is going to be more important than ever before.

My 2 cents: Damaging nuclear power plants was the name of the game ... tornadoes just a cover for what was really happening. Just a guess ;-)

they have ORDERS to secure cameras, they're going to ask for more money than they need to repair/replace buildings that weren't damaged. think about it , why no film of the destruction? thats just my opinion.

Regardless of whether the flooding/tornados was a nautral disater all that water and suction may unearth artifacts/stones and with all the chaos and rubble you wouldn't know what was being removed.

Whenever cops or any officials do things like this, it naturally makes people suspicious. So, I'm wondering if maybe the dead have suspicious burns or wounds on them that can't be attributed to a tornado....

Many times I will look at things from the other side . . . Was the cop really being an A-hole or were the reporters??? I saw tons of footage of the destruction on various channels plus I’m only about 75 miles from Joplin and so know people who have been there and witnessed the destruction first hand.
The residents, police officers, and rescue people were sick of all the gawkers, site seers and picture takers. They made the rescue people jobs many times harder. I think the cops had orders to keep cnn or other reporters away from the morgue because of just this. Plus imagine film splashed all over TV of “the morgue” where “horribly mangled bodies of loved ones lay” . . . I can just hear it. Makes me sick.
Why is it that reporters feel they have a right to intrude where ever they want . . . . and do you think they’d actually give you the story straight? Or will it be embellished and sensationalized?
This tornado is just a taste of what we are going to be experiencing in the next coming years.
I find it fascinating that no one seems to notice that with this tornado the Fujita Scale (which was modified in 2007) was challenged again. Scientists are again considering changing what level should include what level of wind speed. The only reason they would do this is to cover up the ever increasing severity of the weather events we are experiencing.
The ONLY thing that is being covered up here or “managed” is what is truly happening with these weather events on a global scale.
OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE. We say we are the AWAKENED?? ARE WE???

It was a massive horrible tornado . . . . enhanced by extreme weather changes.
Enhanced by man??
Enhanced by incoming comets, dark stars, planets??
Enhanced by aliens??
Or . . . all of the above??
Whenever cops or any officials do things like this, it naturally makes people suspicious. So, I'm wondering if maybe the dead have suspicious burns or wounds on them that can't be attributed to a tornado....

Well, once again, the cops are trained(mind controlled) that "we the people" are the enemy. Who knows what's going on in Joplin, that's for the people in Joplin to have the cojones to tell us. Outside of that it is our duty to make these unreasonable "situations" steadily more difficult for police to defend.

There is much truth in what you say Fred. But, I have to wonder though, that in just as much as the police (and military) do and will view us as the enemy . . . we have also been manipulated and brainwashed as seeing all military and police as the enemy.
I’m probably gonna get flack with what I’m about to say, but I have given this much thought.
Globally and for once especially in the US things are going to be completely out of control . . . . very soon (already is to a good degree). It will be chaos from increasing climate, economic or so many other factors coming into play.
I am neutral about the increased police state (martial law?) that is and about to occur.
Because when this total chaos ensues I feel the law enforcement will keep things somewhat mollified. This will perhaps help fewer people be killed and some level of order be continued. The average person simply will not know what to do and will become a liability to themselves and those around them and this confusion and fear will mount to volatile levels.
Because of (in part) Avalon and information I have been gleaning for years and taken pragmatic steps in becoming self reliant I feel (hope) I will be able to fly under the radar and avoid most of the soon to be ensuing chaos.
I feel and hurt deeply for the people who will be victims of this chaos but truthfully what can we do??? Do we use our time and energies for futile endeavors or do we accept the “truth” no matter how ugly and create a new path.
Perhaps stepping out of the “illusion” that has been created for us and creating truth and reality for ourselves, family and small community we can be examples for the new future???
This is my hope and this is my future.

As someone who has survived a tornado and because I live in Oklahoma and have seen the detestation many times; I don’t think it is odd to have closed off areas. It keeps civil order. As far as the police being rude, well the Reporters argued with him too. Who knows the strain these police officers has been under in keeping order during this. Not to say that something couldn’t be going on here. Just I don’t think so.

That's so true blufire. Not being prone to long posts I tend to leave out detail. I was in the Navy back in the mid 90's, as a matter of fact the aircraft carrier I was on was stationed off the coast of Somalia when the whole "Blackhawk Down" saga occured. Though I was still firmly and soundly asleep and easily manipulated during those years, (the best of times and the worst of times) I'm thankful today to have learned then that people in the military are just like anyone else. They laugh, cry, bitch and moan in the smoking area. They've loved and lost, they have children, they like to go to a pub and down a few pints with they're buds. Most want to be good people, and most are.
They are also deeply mind controlled just like us, only they have the fire power. I have visions of atrocities beginning to be committed in the name of following orders, only to have the humanity we all have bleed through their conditioning at the tipping point and they walk away.
I forget who it was that said something like: "What happens if they call for a war and no one shows up"?
Sorry if I'm babbling, that's why I prefer short posts.
Cheers,
Fred

Simple question: If the problem with people viewing remains at the Morgue is that officials are afraid they will be shocked and upset by the gruesomeness, why don't officials just say that? It's only to be expected, considering the severity of the storm.
There seems to be a certain paradox. If TPTB are banking on fear to keep the sheeple under control, then it seems like they would WANT the gruesome details to be known. But if they are just trying to keep people sedated and pacified, then they would want to hide the fearsome realities.
Both tactics seem to be in play worldwide. Perhaps it just depends on the situation.

Ever heard of the corner of Florence and Normandie in Los Angeles? I live about 10 miles from there and when the L.A. riots started, the police turned tail and ran. Many people were pulled from their cars and beaten.
One of my sisters-in-law lived in that area at that time. She and her husband slept on the floor out of fear they might get hit by a stay bullet.
So where were the officers with there riot gear, sheilds, helmets and boots?
Protect the people my a**.
They will protect themselves and each other when that time comes.

Good point, Warlock.
It seems like they'll push when they know they can get away with it. Like shooting a peaceful, unarmed demonstrator in the head....or they'll use excessive force on an individual. Or my favorite, pull a handicapper out of his wheelchair and slam him onto the ground....
The Joplin cops should have realized that the way they handled this situation only fueled the fires of conspiracy.

My "gut feeling " the day it happened is ...Joplin is the home of the Regional Johns Hopkins Medical Center ( or something like that)..in all of the news reports these buildings are heavily damaged or destroyed.. lots of broken windows..It only stands to reason some quarantined rooms windows were broken or if research goes on there maybe some petrie dishes got broken and pathogens became airborne... also the police officer may have acted like that because he no longer has a home and has lost close family members. the officer was probably chosen to be blocking that road because of an agressive no nonsense demeanor and facial expressions. cnn backed down... just a few thoughts

I'm sorry it took the rest of you to see what African Americans have been seeing since the slave ships. Undercover racist facist that give not a fig for the elderly, poor, or children, and it shows in their laws, and paid off flunkies in DC.
You sowed the seed of t-baggerism and ignorance, now they have a uniform and work for the wrong side.
Karma can be rewarding. After all, you can't do anything else to us, except send us back home to God/Source. Better than being oppressed with a lie of democracy and freedom of will.

Oh and to answer the question of the law enforcement officers is in a nutshell they don;t have any right to ask for cameras to be switched off, turned over or toherwise in a public area. What we are seeing more and more coming out of the USA are reports of basic freedoms being denied or the 'authorities' claiming authority where they have none, according to natural and constitutional law. It seems to becoming the rule rather than the exception in the USA and is frightening that this sort of attititude will travel to other 'democratic' countries.
