Fear Factor: Big Brother wants terror threat texted to your mobile

In America, 'Big Brother' has a mobile and he's learnt how to text. The U.S. government now has a system which can send emergency alerts to everyone. From blizzards to terror threats - the warnings will go straight to people's phones. But as Marina Portnaya reports, many feel it's creating needless panic.

They did this in Victoria after the bushfires when the official systems were exposed as deficient... fortunately we don't have the defcon crap but I imagine they will come up with something suitable given enough time. One could simply block the number. If they prove they can get around that, then that should help show even more people that a mobile phone is a lot more than just a phone...
