Erich von Däniken interviewed by Bill Ryan : A Project Camelot video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqjDOvSbXtY&feature=youtube_gdata)

I first read Erich von Däniken's book CHARIOTS OF THE GODS in 1968, having saved up my pocket money as a 15 year old to buy a first edition hardback copy which became one of the earliest cornerstones in my library of the unexplained. I was astounded when I read his book - his first of many to come - understanding very clearly his thesis, which he wrote to appeal to the layman, not to scientists. I must have read it from cover to cover four or five times. For that bold expository vision, I owed him a personal debt of thanks. And when I had the opportunity to visit his Mystery Park, in Interlaken, Switzerland - a high-tech, multimedia showcase of evidence for ancient ET contact - I wrote to von Däniken to ask if it might be possible to meet. I was there with a group of friends, and Erich made a special appearance for a few minutes to say hello. We were honored and delighted. One of the group filmed the short conversation with a handycam, and we recorded the audio on a dictaphone. It is exactly as it appears: an impromptu meeting, and a brief personal conversation, in a public place. But for those who, like myself, appreciate him for making it so much easier for other researchers to follow ("I know Graham Hancock and Zecharia Sitchin well," Erich said. "We all keep in touch") - they may find this brief encounter most interesting. Enjoy... http://projectcamelot.org/erich_von_daniken.html bill@projectavalon.net

A great juxtaposition of the span of time and the differentials in technology used to re-present this man and his information. I suspect that neither Bill nor EvD ever imagined where their travels would take them all these years later.

i liked this interview alot. i only wish it could have been a little longer. he made me chuckle a few times. funny guy. Von Daniken was a huge influence on me when i first got going in this game. he's one of the reasons i got started!

he doesnt make alot of eye contact tho, LOL. he's always looking here or there it seems..anywhere but at Bill, the one asking him the questions:) i kept thinking " what the hell is he looking at???" did you notice this Bill? was it distracting you at all?

I like this fellow (unless totally fooled- bring it on)

Get a good feeling about him, my heart says he totally believes what he says and is sincere.

Don't totally agree about some assertions which would involve 'our' current chemical rockets or propellor driven craft, but not my field of expertise.

Great vid

Trivia!

For those who've never seen this little interview, do take just a moment to go to the very end of the video (17:30). Half a minute later, there's a lovely, hilarious, spontaneous moment which I caught quite by accident, and closed on. Recommended. :)

As a helpful note to anyone who's not yet been there, von Däniken's books are all in the Avalon Library:
