PROJECT TRISTAR: SUSTAINABLE SELF-SUFFICIENT OFF-THE-GRID COMMUNITIES

There are dozens of websites about sustainable, self-sufficient off-the-grid communities. Project Tristar is by far the best I have seen. I do not have any affiliation with Project Tristar - I am merely sharing the information.

I know Project Tristar has already been mentioned in another thread (I wrote a post about it) and I know there are other threads discussing off-the-grid communities and sustainable living. The reason I started this thread is because Project Tristar covers a wide range of topics and is the culmination of some very extensive research and planning by teams of intelligent, sensible people. Most importantly, Project Tristar offers practical solutions to many of the problems and challenges we face.

Ivan Stein is an American scientist whose work (and the person) resonates well with me. With teams of other brilliant and hard-working people, Ivan is setting up a very thoroughly thought out sustainable community in Australia - Project Tristar - and providing a model for others to copy and adapt to their unique cirumstances.

They also list (currently 65) communities all around the world on their sister-website:
