I think perhaps a high number of forum members may be Rh negative based on the poll that was done some months ago. Normally that would be highly unusual however Rh negs for some reason are attracted to forums like this.

Blood is kind of private isn’t it. I strongly suggest that you don’t post your blood group on any forum, particularly so females who are Rh neg and of child bearing age. The same applies with the “older girls” of course.

It doesn't considere the fact that the root of the tale is indegenous and prior of several centuries with the lost of the said viking. It is not much research done.

If they were one of the first generation of slave laborers that got mixed with their white owners at the time, and the owners bearing RH- blood, the chances are great it has passed down through family lines later on.

The thing is, it seems that dark-skinned people who have RH- blood are less likely to pass it on to their offspring than white people. Its why there is such a low number of these individuals. Low in global terms. Its anything but low if you analyze it thoroughly.

France was one of the first (IIRC) that abolished slavery, and had white and people of color mix. So the oldest introduction of the RH- factor in people of African descent probably dates somewhere around this time period. Maybe slightly before this too (as there were many cases were the masters would sexually (ab)use their slaves, often resulting with pregnancy).

A textbook I was reading a few years back mentioned that 2% of the world population could not replicate HIV because they lack the protein that is needed for the virus to attach and enter the cell. It did not mention what genetically causes this advantage.
