over the last few months there has been a lot of upheaval.
people being banned,unsubrcibed ect.
i want to ask you how you felt when you decided to ban people.
where you confused.
lets take Sepia for example.she is a very good friend of yours.
yet you banned her only to reinstate her.
as with other people.
how do you think these people feel!
i for one would be deeply hurt if i was a good friend of yours,only to find that you unsubcribed me.
this is not a attack.
have you explained to the people invovlded why you did this and did you apologise when you reinstated them.
to even to consider to ban someone like sepia(a very good friend of yours)
must mean you where highly stressed or confused,distracted.
Sepiea is doing what she can but i feel she is a little withdrawn now,and if i am right ...rightly so.
true friends come along once in a lifetime.

If one considers Avalon as just another forum, like a gardening tips blog, or a computer geek site, etc, then getting banned may not be such a big deal.

But if you think that this forum is predominantly composed of high thinking individuals who have a noble and altruistic aim, then you would probably feel being asked to leave most keenly.

Sorry to interject, Manny, I know you are waiting for Bill to reply.

It's very difficult to address all these issues at once, I'm sure. My thoughts are with anyone who has been caught up in the collateral damage. :sad:

Agree or disagree with Manny's position aside, the question I have been pondering is why does Bill does all this, there are no adds on here that Ive seen, we are not paying him anything, I doubt the donations make it worth the time and energy he has put into all this, I can say that I have not given him any money. I haven't bought any of his interviews, they are free. We are constantly suggesting he is doing this wrong and that wrong etc, he must spend an enormous amount of energy here to keep all this going. I would not respond to any of our attacks if I were him, I can only imagine how rude you people would think I am if I ran this show, especially when the bickering starts. My guess is Bill will wake up one day and decide he has had enough of our childish cry babying and complaining and fighting and tell all of us to get stuffed and pull the plug if we are not careful. I would say to Bill that he has great patience and passion for his work and I appreciate it all, Thank You.

it has to with INTEGRITY.
i don,t feel people are being disrespectful when asking a journalist for the alternitive media to share the truth.
the truth within themselves.to show your true self is the most humblest thing a person can do.
it will gain anyones utmost respect.

Well said. I couldn't agree more. Bill has given me more pleasure then anyone else I dare mention. Not in that way of course ;)
Bill ,Kerry, and many of the whistle blowers are my heroes. Where would we be without them doing this great work?
Give the man a break, lets support him rather then gun him down. This is my view.. If Bill made some cash from this site, Then good luck to him. he deserves it and much more.
In terms of money Bill is priceless. If he took that hat off and grew a beard i may even view him as a god. Notice I said god not GOD :cool:

The important thing is, she is back and was always a part of this community.

what you still don't seem to understand is this was a direct assault to divide the community, and it worked, and Sepia is now dealing with friends who are part of another community as well as everything she is kind enough to share here with all of us.

I questioned whether PA's mission had changed since I first joined...the threads have a different feel, and the people don't seem to understand the basics of membership here anymore. There seems to be confusion and hurt over bannings, and the how and why of them. There seems to be a lot more 'crossover' topics in the thread catagories. Some, like me, may even be questioning whether they still have anything to contribute here or should they move on.

We've gotten so bogged down in the minutia that we've lost our vision and purpose here.

So I spent some time looking for a mission statement for PA, and found it in Bill's post on the Welcome Thread. The following is taken from that post:

Oh, Manny, I'm sorry if my poor attempt at sharing my own discomforts and questions has made you feel this thread unworthy.

It is quite honorable, imo, to bring people together. Division hurts...not only those directly involved, but the people that care about them as well.

It is that kind of caring about people that makes you so special, Manny.

The instance that prompted you to start this thread occurred between Bill and Sepia. Sometimes people need to resolve things between themselves in a private space...it is not ours to be involved in the resolution. Sometimes it is enough for us to say "okay you crazy kids, it's time to make up now", then step back and allow them to deal with it in their own way.
