I had heard something a couple months ago about a change made to the richter scale. Apparently they have decreased it. So what used to be a 6 is now a 5 and so on.
I can't remember exactly where I heard it.....it could have been Alex Jones and maybe he had Lucus from The Rabbit Hole on. I tried to find proof of it online but to no avail. Does anybody here know anything about it?

I was thinking of George Noory with Lucus on Coast to Coast......but that wasn't it. I just finished listening to it again. A ton of great information though!!

Hi Carolin, welcome to the forum!
funny, I heard something about this just the other day, maybe Jay Weidner.
Checking on google brings us things like this:
http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/science_technology/why+the+richter+scale+is+no+more/1666747.html
According to this article, there is a ten-fold increase per point, but in the Hutchinson Encyclopedia of Science, it is 31-fold.
Strange...

For the life of me I can't find the video that talked about it. I can believe it though....just another way of dumbing us down. Here is another video that's relative about the USGS changing stats of earthquakes.
