New reports suggest the US is preparing to deploy as many as 30,000 troops to Libya this October in direct contradiction to earlier assurances that there would be no boots on the ground.

Assurances.. Yeah right ;) Just as assured that we are that Greece is OK, that there are no protesters is Spain according to (some of) the national newspapers, that we are peacekeeping in Libya.. October come we will see how it has played out, but I don't see a reason why NATO would step back from bombing a country in to peace/pacification.
