Toronto G20 protests Toronto 2010. Vandals burn Police cars, break windows and turn on the cameras. Some came downtown to protest about their right to protest; and some to break things for fun. There were protesters concerned about the unfair distribution of global wealth and corporate environmental terrorism, but I captured little of this side, apologies.

Yes it was well covered in Avalon at the time it happened. I think some of the protestors still have days in court coming.

A distinction between protesters and vandals needs to be made. What I saw were vandals and admitted criminals... "I'm trying to do a crime here!" ... not protesters. Protesters have something to say.

Yes you are right, in the video are vandals, this is what the television wanted to show. However, what I heard is that a lot of peacefull protesters were arrested, detained, and jailed for not leaving the premisses and then sent to court for that, not for vandalism. Lots were real, peaceful protestors.

Are you from Toronto, were you around when this happened? Is so, tell us what you have seen.

This G20 mess was clearly orchestrated by the NWO thugs with their agenst provocateurs. Don't buy into anything that paints the protestors in a bad light. One stupid squad car was burned. The police left it there as a plant hoping to get that result because they spent a ton of money and they didn't have anybody to arrest. My brother and nephew went and found that police and their hired 'security goons' were just itching for trouble. They did not respect that we the people have rights and the main one is to tell our heads of state when they are going wrong ie to protest.
Police attitude and behaviour to honest protestors was dispicable. BTW the tactic called kettling is now banned in Toronto for future events. And the chief has been forced to hand over one of his own for sentencing. Plus he has been forced to admit they erred. The issue is far from settled here with people still in jail and not at trial yet.

This is probably going to go over like a lead fart but I'm going to say it anyway. There is a group of anarchists that go around to events like G20 just to cause trouble. Maybe "Black Bloc" is part of NWO but the guy that started the cruiser on fire was mentally ill and off his meds. Mob mentality sets in and any legitimate, peaceful protester is dismissed. I would never consider such a venue to try and make change or get my point across.

As for the police brutality that went on of course it is unacceptable. Here in Canada police have to be accountable for their behaviour. But did you ever stop and think about what our streets would be like without law enforcement. I can't imagine what it's like to work two sixteen hour days in tactical gear, in the heat, in the rain, on my feet and then have that kind of adrenaline coursing through my veins. Let's keep in mind also that just before G20 a bank was blown up in Ottawa that Black Bloc claimed to be responsible for. There is probably a ton of other intel that we the general public will never be privey to.

Until humans evolve considerably we cannot live in a society without laws. Sad but true.

I'm in Calgary, so what I saw was only from the media ...

Just as there is a "mob" mentality that can even suck unwitting consciousnesses into - there too is a "peace" and a "love" mentality. It just started to take hold in the 60s but the effect is the same. It's about a critical mass of collective consciousness more than it is about evolving. And this is good news, because it means we can "evolve" (as you put it) more quickly than we think.

Mad Hatter dons his mischevious cap...

Where is the imagination of the organisers... how about next time everyone drives a car into the city in question. Then with a few strategically placed breakdowns (flat batteries, flat tires, no petrol etc) a plausibly deniable complete gridlock could be achieved. Bring a bit of music and a bit of food and turn it into a massive impromtu block party. They certainly won't get ooger booger propaganda footage from something like that. Best done on the last day thus preventing the officials leaving on time. In this case filming the various security teams having kittens through being frightened of people just having fun certainly would be priceless!!

cheers

I had a friend who was there on the day the thing took place. He said that the police and private security forces simply took over all hotels in the area, there were so many of them. Imagine the costs of taking over almost every hotel in the Toronto area.

Canadians paid for that.

I've also heard that line about the group that goes around causing trouble.

Problem is that each time I hear it.... it comes from military or undercover/retired cops.... trying to convince me that it is real.

Yeah, I'd say it is true alright. it is private, or corporate, or government arranged.

So... there is a group that goes around and causes havoc at these gatherings. No doubt about it.

It would seem that the good people of Toronto The Good have changed their minds and now agree that the police did not act properly. This story in today's Torornto Star says that half the people who agreed with police actions right after last year's G20 have now changed their mind and also that the majority of those polled want a full public inquiry. As I said, this thing is not going away..
