I am reading a book called AD After Disclosure about what the world will be like if disclosure happens. There is also a lot of background information, including some insider testimony. In the book, the authors share the story of an unnamed politician who spoke confidentially to their source about his experience underground.

During his first days in Washington DC, the politician was taken to an underground "military" facility (located in or just outside of DC) where he was briefed on something for a period of eight weeks. Asked by his friend (the source) about what the briefing entailed, the politician said "There is intelligent life in the universe. It’s here. And I’ve seen it." He said the things he learned caused him to cry himself to sleep for many nights after that. He said he cried because he had children and "This is not the kind of world I thought they’d grow up in."
