View Full Version : Sun rising in Antartica during winter 2011?

As we all know (don't we?) During winter in Antartica the sun does not rise for months, it is in perpetual darkness. I once had to do a Psych test for an application to become a cleaner at Scott Base (NZ Research Station) to see if I could handle months of darkness...

Anyway check this out, very very scarey if this is true and an absolute indicator of an axis shift. It couldn't get any clearer than this.

Yeah interesting. I have seen more videos from a couple of months ago. This should be easily quantifiable. ANyone have an idea of how to coroborate this?

So did earths physical axis move or maybe the orbit of earth changed ? Last maybe the sun moved ?? (i think the last one is the hardest)

the dwart star is bombing everything with gamma radiation, photons, and pulling energy out of the sun causing the earth's magma to heat up. it's mass it pushing the earth away as it wrestles for control of earth from the sun. it will make our orbit in august. the same path around the sun. this is just the begining. please everyone PAY ATTENTION. stay updated everyday for the next two months.

the magnetic pole has shifted not the physical. it could move enough to cause a land reposition. I hope not.

My bathroom has a sky light in it. As a woman I spend a significant amount of time in the bathroom, if you know what I mean. As I have sat in a particular place in my bathroom over the years and through the seasons, I have amused myself by watching the patterns and angles of the sun on the walls.

Yesterday as I sat in this familiar particular place . . . . the hair on the back of my neck went up and goose bumps popped because I realized the angle of the sunshine on the wall was at a place it had never been before. Not a lot . . . . but significant enough that is was definitely noticeable.

I was rather glad I was sitting in that particular familiar place. :o

Magnetic shift should effect sun/Earth positioning ... so we should see the sun rising just cause the magnetic field changed. That only effects radiation from the sun and weather... not visual position

To me the sun is rising and setting in the exact same spot that it did for the last two years... beings that we are doing passive solar construction this has been of interest to us. Nothing has changed. Its trail across the sky is the same, taking the same winter and spring walk across the sky to set in its winter and then spring location directly over very specific peaks and valleys as the calendar progresses through the year.

I agree Arrowind, “largely” the sun’s movement appears to be the same. Subtleties though are many times overlooked and ignored.

I think it would be interesting to have just a simple sundial and have it become part of the daily routine to mark and record the sun.

I think I will do this when I finally to my farm in the Mountains.

I have observed the setting sun on the summer solstice for 11 years from my bedroom window. It has set on the same treetop 2 miles away, in the same exact spot for 11 years.
I have come to the conclusion that the only axis shift is in everybody's head.

Next naked eve event to look for is The Heliacal Rising of Sirius...I am at 43NL so it should be 8/14/2011 according to 2010 ephemeris dates. Now if I do not see Sirius it means I AM IN A TIME WARP!;)
